Beegee's Green Day Diary

It's a bit weird tbh, but at the same time - very like I remember a fish finger being (albeit 25+ years ago). I quite like them, wouldn't bother every day and it's a bit of a waste of syns but I cba to cook anything else. I only buy them on offer, they're scandalously over-priced otherwise.

Re the lager, it's the Sainsbury's low alcohol czech lager which is 1 syn per 500ml bottle according to the nutritional info. The debate started because it was being claimed that their Crown lager (4%) was 1 syn a can, so a load of people went straight down there and started filling their boots with it and another group (including me) were saying there's no way it can only be 1 syn for a 440ml can of lager. It turned into a right bun fight. I think the upshot was - the alcoholic one was a lot more synful than initially suggested but the low alcohol Czech one was definitely only 20 cals per bottle (which still seems way too low really). It was quite nice too, never had it before but I'd get it again and the bottle is huge!

The last meaty thing I ever ate was a white fish. Full of bones. It was the last straw for me. Maybe that is why I am suspicious of the fish fingers (not that they would be full of bones lol. Quorn aint that weird!)

My Sainsburys is not massive and doesn't stock the Crown lager :( Just the Bavaria and the Becks Blue. I think they are about 3.5 syns. All taste the same with a wedge of lemon in them!

I weighed in this morning and lost 0.7kg / 1.5lbs which was good news. I'm now back to where I was pre hols and birthday so I hope I can keep chipping away at it and get lower still. I still have about 9lbs to lose to get to my christmas target which frankly seems like a huge amount on current form. Am not overly optimistic!

Hey I'm optimistic that you will get there by Christmas :) Well done on your 1.5lbs - thats a fab start towards a Christmas target.

What flavour was your frozen yogurt ??? Oh actually no dont tell me! I just about managed to avoid picking up some ben and jerrys just now at the supermarket! I bet it was yummy though and better in syns than ice-cream :)

Thanks ladies! Gobolino - I shan't mention it was the utterly lush chocolate brownie then (!) I noticed I've got the phish food one in the freezer too which I haven't tried yet. I haven't had it as ice cream either because I'm not really a marshmallow person (being veggie) but I think it was veggie friendly. Will double check before indulging.

I've been quite pure this weekend, I'm feeling the need for a bit of a naughty splurge later!

Friday:

B: Yogurt, banana, strawberries, kiwi, nectarine, pear

L: Quorn slice and pickle (1) roll (hexb), mugshot, Skips (2.5)

D: BBQ time! Portobello mushroom and pepper in a roll (hexb), absolute tons of salad, homemade coleslaw (1), potatoes, pesto pasta (3), ketchup (3), quorn sausage (1), low alcohol lager (1)

2x alpens (hexb)

18 syns today but I didn't have the usual Saturday drinks and takeaway so am tracking as being very pure this week. I think that's why I'm feeling the urge for something lardy now.

Will update today later on when I've made a dinner decision.

Yes, the phish food one is veggie! I learned that recently and was pleasantly shocked. The little marshmallows have no gelatine and the wee fish aren't real fish! hehe

Well done on your loss this week :happy036:

Thanks SS, will start shovelling it into my gob shortly then! Am quite curious about it ...

I managed to avert disaster yesterday by having a Penguin of all things and finished the week with a mere 56 syns. It feels good to have had a strong week behind me.

Today launches week 77:

B: Nectarine, mango, banana, yogurt, pear

L: Jacket potato, beans, cheese (hexa) extra veg, salad, corn on the cob. Yogurt.

Snack: Half a bag of ryvita minis (half hexb) dipped in cottage cheese. I'm not a huge ryvita fan, but those chilli mini ones are really rather good. Also a few grapes and a quorn slice. Nearly forgot - hoovered up a spare quorn nugget and spoon of rice from the kids tea (1)

D: Chickpea dahl with extra veg and rice.

Oaty Bar (hexb), milk (hexa). Chocolate (3)

Me too! I only picked it up for a look when I saw that it was the yogurt not the ice cream, then I saw the little 'V' and my fate was sealed. Even now it's calling me from the freezer in the garage!

Oh gawd, Phish Food emergency. My first mistake was bringing it in from the garage, second mistake was opening it up to see what it looked like, third when I decided to just try a little bit to see if it was nice. It was utterly delicious. Oh goodness, it's got really big bits of real chocolate in it and there are blooming loads of them in there. I scoffed 3 very large teaspoons of it (estimating 4 syns) then realised that emergency measures were required to stop me necking the entire pot in 5 minutes flat (if that). So, I have isolated the tub at the back of the freezer under a pile of stuff where it is quite difficult to get to.

It's now been over an hour since I went back for just one more bit. I think I'm over the worst. If I crack again it will have to go back in the garage, that stuff is just too nice to be in the house!

Will update again a bit later. I know it's there, it's still calling me. This might not be over!

Thanks for the wise Phish words. I feel as though I averted a big crisis yesterday! I must remember to do the brushing teeth thing if crisis looms again.

Today has been like this:

B: Yogurt, banana, pineapple, melon, fruit & fibre (hexb)

L: Savoury rice, extra veg. Pear, satsuma. Yogurt

Snack: a few plain pasta twirls

D: Meat free bolognese, pasta, cheese (hexa)

Chocolate (2), Phish Food (5) - controlled portion then the tub went back into quarantine in the back of the freezer.

I've got 7 minutes left til bed time and think I can hold out til then. I'm just watching the end of the Steps reunion programme. I love a bit of gossipy stuff like this sometimes!

Oh I'm into chilli mini's too and as you know I'm a big B+J fan too..... I'd been avoiding the phish food as I dont do non-veggie marshmallows, but this news is interesting. My hubby polished off a choc fudge tub and we both had some cherry garcia - wow thats amazing!

Glad you have your secure quarantine set up - its definitely needed when these kind of emergencies strike!

You can do it! You 1 Phish 0 :)

Tis indeed awesome that Cherry stuff. The marshmallow isn't big bits of marshmallow btw, it's more kind of swirly. Despite the last 24 hours of Phish trauma, I'd probably still pick one of the other flavours as my favourite, I think I'm just a sucker for something new amid my very samey menus!

I still need to go to bed, but am now watching the Michael Jackson trial. I think I seriously need to get a life!
