Belle's Journey

"Cos my real assignment and mission should I chose to take it, is to be seriously cute and outrageously creative "

You are already outrageously creative... and I think that there is no such thing as "seriously" cute. I think you are (or are potentially) charismatically cute!

Hi Belle --

But you have made progress since November 2009... and let's face it -- we will never be finished. We will always be a work in progress and it will also be a requirement that we worked to maintain our losses.

So, I think rather than a list of synomyns for completion a better list might be synomyns for growth, progress, endurance, commitment, etc.

Your reading list reminds me so much of a friend of mine who is a geriatric sociologist -- she truly enjoys reading all of the self-help, motivational, etc. writers. She liked Eric Tolle a lot.

Bel --

I think the pedometer was not a bad purchase. It has features that basic pedos do not have and I think you might find it very useful when you are finished with the VLCD and are working on maintaining your weight loss. It lists for 2 pounds more than you paid. (It is the rolls royce of pedometers.)

... wasn't enough. The pedometer is quite small and neat and really easy to store in your pocket or you can clip it on and it is so light I never really notice that I have it on. Unfortunately I didn't get any instructions with it but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to use it and after a few minutes I soon got the hang of what to do. It can count your steps which is what I wanted it for and this is great and seems to more accurate than some other pedometeres that I have used. I use the step count...more

Hi Bel --

I especially enjoyed readin your postings this morning. I have Bill Phillips Body for Life book -- I think I will reread it.

Have you had your Cholesteral broken down into LDL and HDL?

My total cholesteral is over 200, but my HDL is 187. The person who gave me the report (over the phone -- they could not see me) asked if I was competive athlete! LOL I asked my GP about the above 200 reading and he said, "You could almost subtract the HDL from the total cholesteral to get the number that should be under 200. You have no worries." My sister (the nurse practioner) actually sent a congratulations on the reading when I asked her about them. And, I sent the total with the break down.

However, I have oatmeal most mornings for breakfast and eat a lot of on salt or lightly salted nuts. I avoid saturated fats and hydrogentated rubbish (I have for years) and (when not doing meal replacements) I try to eat fish or seafood at least twice a week. I also do not eat pork (or very rarely) and have to trim all the fat off of any other kind of flesh (chicken mostly, then lean beef). I'll have eggs on their own not even once a week (when not on a VLCD). I do like cheese, but try to go for a low-fat kind. I look for low-fat (without increased sugar) everything. I cook with a little olive oil or non-stick spray. I seldom fry anything. I would never deef fat fry anything. I tend to bake or roast meat. I like to steam vegetables. But, I do use real butter not margerine (but I try to limit the amount). I keep meaning to buy (once I've read up on it) the olive oil spread to try out.

I hope you have a Wonderful Sunday. And what are you thinking of studying?

LOL -- My proof reading bites!!! I meant to wish you a Wonder-filled, Wonderful Sunday...

I like the way you talk about your walking. I wish I was self-motivating that regard. I dislike going outside so much, I wonder if I am not a bit argoraphobic. (I know is is more likely the weather here in the UK.)

But, do not use your unliklihood of dying today as a reason to not get your place tidy. ;)
