hey guys. afraid i'm arriving rather late!! ha. welcome Tyn!! great to have you here. i did start reading the whole thread but 20 minutes later i still hadn't got to the end and so i'm afraid i queue jumped
glad you are finding us all lovable and my word. can you tell we're all hormonal on these diets!! ha.
i think your degree sounds amazing. leeds does the masters in deaf studies but i'm not sure if it did the degree. of course i discovered that when i was nearing the end of my IT degree and didn't want to do another thing!! ha. i did my level 1 last year and am hoping to do my level 2 this september.
my fave BSL words (leeds sign) are helicopter, turtle, rainbow and penguin. and i found it hilarious when we were doing animals and she told us that kids used their arm as an elephants trunk but once you were an adult you didn't want to look silly and then showed us penguin... because that didn't look daft at all!!
I did find it difficult getting through what felt like racism when signing people's appearances but everything is purely descriptive and once you get past that things feel rude (i mean, you could hardly subtly say 'who is that woman over there, the fat one' since you do an impression of a fat person (i was in hysterics at that point) it's all rather fun
sorry, i've rambled. nobody else i know does sign, ha. and i'm only a beginner.
back to the point. well done on eating healthily. i had no hope of that so i'm on the cambridge diet and therefore not eating at all. and now i'm on day... um... ooh 9, had to use my fingers... i'm not really hungry at all.
