BinkyBonk needs to lose weight...

Found your diary binky, you're doing really well! 10s in no time ..x

I can't remember if it was almond or hazelnut milk I tried but I really liked it... originally bought it as an ingredient for vegan cupcakes I was making for my friends but had a wee drink myself.
I'm sure it'll be better mixed in with your smoothies though. x

Big thank you to all my peeps for the support, it really helps me to carry on...

I have cleaned my flat this morning then walked to town and back to get a few bits and walked back, i wore a waterproof as it looked like it was going to pour down and half way there it turned into lovely sunshine, so i did get rather hot lol x

I made a steak and stiton casserole for dinner, it was so yummy and not too bad calorie wise =)

I only walked three miles today so had two choices, one was to sit on the sofa and two was to do a two mile Leslie walk and then sit on the sofa, I have just finished the Leslie walk, it has made me feel better after getting some disappointing news today.

I finished my book last night so starting M.C Beaton Death of a valentine tonight =)

Hey binkybonk sorry to hear you got some dissapoibting news , if you want to chat I'm here :)
Food is looking good and your exercise is great!
The weight will be dropping off you I'm sure :D xx

You asked the other day about how to up the calories - how about putting a salad with the soup or grated some cheese into it. Your dinner portion could be bigger - do you eat potatoes? Having a snack of fruit and nuts, say an apple mid afternoon with a yogurt. Buy a can of chickpeas or other beans and blend half of it with some garlic and herbs to make a dip (if you like them) and keep it in an airtight box in the fridge - eat it with raw veg or spread it on your biscuits. You can freeze the other half and use for next time. Cottage cheese is also nice for a snack with veg or biscuits. Flavoured soft cheese rolled inside of thin sliced ham. I make soup and keep it in the fridge or freezer then it is there for about 150 cals filling snack.
Sugar Free Jelly is low cal but nice with fruit and yogurt.

Sorry to hear you have had disappointing news. But well done for sticking with the healthy stuff - you're doing fab!! x

Thank you systema for the effort you have put in, that is so lovely of you x

I have to be careful with soft cheese and yoghurts because of my stomach, i have found dairylea triangles are fine and am pleased as they are so yummy, the stilton was okay last night too which was good as i am serving the rest for dinner tonight lol x

I will definitely be trying the sugar free jelly as people seem to be raving about it so will add it to the list and have bought a fat free muller yoghurt to try and see how i get on =)

I really enjoyed the soup and will probably make a fresh batch myself when i have the freezer space, the crackers i have put under snack i had with my soup and dont honestly think i could fit a salad in as well.

Yesterday evening i had a dairylea on two GF crackers with some chicken and cucumber, so i think i will try and add another salad in the evening instead of the snacking to see if that helps =)

Thank you for your help my lovely i am trying to keep tweaking until i get a good balance and find a routine that i can follow permanently =)

Hey peeps,

My news was that my mom's operation that was supposed to be happening right now was cancelled last night, we think due to a lack of beds. My mom was very upset and disappointed and of course it has made me feel sad. She will hopefully find out today when it will happen instead but it is just a rubbish situation and i am feeling a little lost this morning as i wasn't meant to be at home but pacing the corridors of a hospital instead =(

So thinking about my food diary and think i am going to try and have an additional meal after my dinner in the evening, i will probably stick to salads as i know it is not too healthy to eat in the evening but i am snacking in the evening anyway and am sure more salad is better for me than chocolate =)

I don't know about you peeps but i am finding myself using more of what is in my fridge, freezer and cupboards lately... the bf used to hate having the same dinner two days in a row which made it difficult on what to cook, but i have used the same vegetables that i bought at our weekly shop and just used them in different meals and he has really enjoyed them so i have had no wastage this week =) I think he is just really pleased to be having healthier meals and so am i x

Aw no, that's a shame. Hopefully she won't need to wait too long to have the op re-scheduled :(

And yup, it is crazy the amount of different meals you can make from virtually the same ingredients. Definitely becoming a better and more varied cook because of this healthy lifestyle quest!! :D x

I have Crohn's so don't each much Dairy - I know what I can eat and that is cottage cheese and plain yogurt as it is strained and goat cheese is fine for me - quark is ok as well.
I keep veg for days and days in airtight lock and lock boxes - I hate parsnips but OH had them for dinner last Saturday and will be having the rest sometime this week - they have not gone soft. Salad, fruit, cheese etc go in them as well - my fridge looks like an add for Lock and Lock but at least the food lasts for longer. They were expensive to start with but never throw food away.

Don't forget "in date" eggs.:) good for you.
