Ultimate Non-Scale Victory!

Thank for your advice gals! RawrGirl is going to go ahead an accept it since 1) in her mind it was lack of muffin top that made a pair of jeans fit. Just because she won't wear them until the thighs need to slim down a bit so she doesn't look like a humongous pair is just her personal preference.

And 2) (drum roll, please)...RawrGirl is def going to count it BECAUSE.....

Take a look at her in her Jay Jacob jeans!!!!

Yes, major muffin top, but a few weeks ago these wouldn't even fit over her hips...and a few weeks before that, they wouldn't even fit over her bum, and now....they actually snap. So yes, must celebrate by adding a "DONE!!!" to the size 8's October goal since fitting into the Jay Jacob jeans was always supposed to be my November goal (snapping with no muffin top).

Here is September and October in the elusive Jay Jacob jeans.

14 years!. Those Jay Jacob jeans have not snapped in 14 years!!!! RawrGirl is most likely at least 139 pounds. Finally UNDER 140. The lightest she's ever been since 14 years ago was 143! Part of her is wondering if that can't possibly be true...she is hesitant to change her stats lest she be disappointed on the 21st when she gets on the scale. But it must be true. The Jay Jacob jeans had never fit her without muffin top. She was moving back to the east coast and Jay Jacob was her favorite clothing store and only in the West and she was still trying to lose weight, so she bought a pair smaller than she could wear. She remembers they could snap, but she couldn't breathe. And at that time, she was 138.

RawrGirl this is FANTASTIC!! The difference in the pics is amazing. You look great. I would definitely say you are 140/139. You look so slim. Look at those legs, wow! I am very jealous right now...!

Holiday Preemptive Strike

Ok...so spending the day looking for recipes on Pintrest is NOT what RawrGirl should do...ever again. She can't even tell you how much over her calories she is (probably about 250). That may not seem like alot, but ever since September, when RawrGirl started her diet and joined Minimins, she has never eaten more than her planned calories (except for the road trip). 200 of those were 2 different post-dinner snacks (asparagus with sour cream and cheddar was the first; spinach and cream cheese low carb pinwheels was the second). Again, not bad to snack on veggies, but the point is, she NEVER would have done it if she hadn't spent 6 hours looking at yummy recipes.

Ok, so why did RawrGirl do this? Because she created a new board called Holiday Maintenance for recipes to make on Thanksgiving and during her 10-day holiday, in the hopes that she will eat those foods and not the stuff being served (or at least very little of what is being served).

Here is the breakdown of holiday:

So since RawrGirl's goal size is her size 8 Old Navy jeans which already button (RawrGirl doesn't really see her body shrinking enough to be a size 6, but who knows)...her plan is to do the 30-day shred 30x between now and Christmas so that she is swimming in her 8's, and then hopefully they still snap New Years Day, lol.

And of course, to make her alternative recipes that she found on Pintrest...for instance caramel apple enchiladas as a substitute for apple pie. RawrGirl will make them in low carb tortilla using no sugar added apple pie filling and erythritol (low GI sweetener with no gastrological side effects) and sugar-free caramel syrup served warm with low-carb vanilla ice cream.

Another example are these cheesecake turtle squares...RawrGirl is going to cut them into one-inch squares so that "one slice" feels like she is eating several treats and she can nibble on them and not feel deprived while everyone else is eating off their overflowing dessert plates.

RawrGirl even found yummy recipes for Christmas morning breakfast (and in the mornings at her in-laws), and is also going to try her hand at making cinnamon rolls using her low-carb tortilla wraps and slicing them up as pin wheels.

Holiday Preemptive Strike: Part II

Ok...RawrGirl feel much more confident now. She has a secret weapon....

Soup.

Allow her to explain.

RawrGirl figures if she eats soup as a first course, it will help fill her up and she will be much less likely to binge on all the food/dessert. So after her soup, she will get a small plate and try a little bit of the things she wants and then be done. And she will bring her low-carb desserts from Pintrest (turtle cheesecake squares, apple pie enchiladas and chocolate chip cookies). Hopefully they are enough to not even tempt her on anything else, but will in the least, give her enough sweets that if she tries something else it will be small and very limited in quantity.

Her soups are:

Broccoli Cheese (made with 3 TB light cream and 2 Splenda drops instead of milk)

Cream of Potato Soup (same cream/Splenda mix, plus sour cream, bacon bits, cheddar cheese, chives)

Cream of Asparagus Soup (same cream/Splenda mix, plus extra asparagus, sour cream, bacon bits, cheddar cheese)

They sound yummy and quite filling, don't they? RawrGirl will be bringing them to the 3 days with her mother/sister, and making up a batch when she gets to Kansas for those 5 days. RawrGirl is very hopeful that this will actually work and that it will prevent her from binging, and would love to return home still fitting into her jeans!
 
Summary of Week of 10/29

RawrGirl's friend Squishy posted a cool photo of her weekly calories and apparently RawrGirl can't find where to do that at...as this is all she figured out how to do, which is for a month. Perhaps friend Squishy has the MFP app and that is why it looks different. But RawrGirl is too tired to figure all that out right now. Poor Prince Charming worked 16 hours today because of bleepity bleep boss who doesn't care that it's illegal to make drivers drive more than 11 hours for a max of 14 total hours of work (the extra 3 hours of stopping to deliver the cargo, etc.) and who wants him to be up in less than 6 hours to work again (and he's not even home yet!) which is also illegal as he should be given 10 hours off to ensure he gets enough sleep. And he can't even report the manager because the last person who went over the manager's head mysterious got fired a few days later. Coincidence? Ha! And jobs here are very difficult to find, and this one pays more than usual, and we are still just barely scraping by. *sigh*

Anyway, sorry for the rant. Here is my chart.

Yes, it was the MFP app! It's on the main Home tab, and then I click the Weekly button up at the top. It only looks pretty when I've had a good week though ;)

Apparently, Rawrgirl has had the MFP app on her phone this whole time but never used it and forgot all about it. So she found her weekly chart, but now she doesn't know how to make it a pic and/or post it on Minimins, lol.
 
Ah ha! Well, I just took a screenshot of it on my phone and it automatically saves as a picture on my camera roll. I only know how to take a screen shot on an iPhone though. Maybe try googling how to take a screenshot on your model of phone?!
 
Alas, RawrGirl's phone is too old a model, but she is due for an upgrade and was already going to check out the Black Friday sales...so we shall see.

Anyway, here is a pic of her lunch, which is one of the finger foods she will taking with her on her mini-holiday to give her something to munch on. Calories are around 200 for the whole plate (which doesn't count the end pieces she ate as they weren't that pretty, lol).

Pinterest makes me so glad I don't live in the States. All the recipes look so amazing but 90% of the ones I read contain ingredients we don't have over here. Like Ranch Dressing. It seems to be in everything! And all those recipes that you can whip up in a few minutes with some Crescent Rolls- we don't have those either. Nor all the different boxes of cake mix. Definitely a good thing though or I'd be SuperSquishy McMorbidlyObeserson!!

Wow, RawrGirl had no idea Ranch dressing was a US thing. Ironically, she's never eaten it as she didn't like it until this past summer when she tried a bite of Prince Charming's jalapeno ranch burger and found it to die for. Now, she makes a lean version almost every weekend.

Definitely a good thing though or I'd be SuperSquishy McMorbidlyObeserson!!

Thanksgiving Update

Well, RawrGirl's sister has decided that she is going to have Thanksgiving dinner with her in-laws so even though she said RawrGirl and Prince Charming can tag along, RawrGirl will pass. (Originally, the plan was to have Thanksgiving dinner at mother/sister's.)

So she invited her mother (who lives with her sister) to have Thanksgiving dinner with her, but mother says she has to think about it. :confused:

Whatever.

But 2 good things come out of this.

1) Mother and sister will not see her until Christmas and RawrGirl might have actually reached goal by then. Woo-hoo. Mother and sister have not seen her since September. Brother has not seen her since last Christmas (he lives 3,000 miles away), and RawrGirl has not seen either of her grandmothers in 2+ years. So showing off her new bod sounds amazing and very motivational to continue with her Shred challenge. :D

2) RawrGirl has signed her and Prince Charming up to serve Thanksgiving to over 1,000 homeless people at a local mission shelter. RawrGirl is so excited about this. She knows it's not the same as spending the holiday with family, but just the idea of being around so many people and knowing you are helping them and bringing them a small measure of joy sounds like a ton more fun than sitting at home feeling sorry for herself that her being with her family is not as high of a priority to them as it is for her. The only downside is, she is still waiting for her volunteer application to be approved. She hopes it is approved soon, because then she go to the mission all next week and help sort all the donated foods into boxes which will be given out to poor families who would otherwise have no Thanksgiving dinner at all. The whole concept sounds like so much fun...she can't wait.
