Breastfeeding and Slimming World

Took us until Monday night to have sex - Bella's 8 weeks now. And even with stitches it was absolutely fine... Not sure hubby could have waited any longer!!

I'm with you on the emotions - I was bursting into tears every 5 mins for the first week or so!
Mind you I sobbed my eyes out at her first jabs yesterday... There's no way I'm going on my own again

bloody hate jabs!

lol okay well now i feel mean, Penny will be 16 weeks and were still er, angelic. (as can be!) .. i just cannot be fecked. :-/ Joe doesnt feel the same, unsurprisingly! maybe he'd feel diff if he was getting up with her and having a baby attached to his nips several times a day!!

bloody had 3 mince pies.. and far more cheese and milk than i should have today. what is wrong with me.

Fern its the joys of the festive season lol! Ive had my fix of mince pies now so hoping ill be ok (yeah right). A dollop if mince in sw rice pud is lovely if u need some xmassy taste. Gonna try the xmas soup thats going round on the threads....recipe is on post ur pics looks amazballs! Looking forward to making my pate this wkend too nommy!
X

Making pate jojo? Good luck! Yesterday was the first time I'd had chance to cook anything proper (a lemon drizzle cake shhh but hubby did take half to work!). We lived on takeaways, ready meals and anything on toast the first couple of weeks!

I admire your determination to get back onto plan - by the sounds of it you'll definitely stick to it because you really want to - well done!

I simply can't get my head back on track but luckily the weights dropping off through exercise and not having time to eat. Have to say I'm loving mince pies at the mo, although on the good side I'm addicted to banana, muesli and yoghurt for brekkie yum yum. Don't worry fern and tell Joe where to shove his comments ;-)

Be careful to monitor emotions - it is ok to be teary dur9ing first week, it is called the 'baby blues' but I suffer from PND which lasts a lot longer and can be a very dark place. If you feel things get too much for a long peiod of time then speak to your gp. Luckily I had a CPN prior and was already on meds due to other stuff going on. So they upped support and meds and slowly getting back on track now :)

Oh I am on my period for the second time, last one was only two weeks ago. Be warned if you haven't had your period yet you could have the potential change of severe cramps or at least I have, gaww constantly taking paracemol and was in tears as they are so mcuh more painful now. Why does mother nature have to be a beetch i mean I spend 9 months of a lot of it given up nice food, sickness etc and then the labour. Did I not scraphice enough but then get double periods and painfulness on top to make up for all the periods I missed whilst pregnant, lol *rant over, hormonal today can you tell*

Yeah it has cross my mind about baby blues i will keep an eye on it. Think we were both really tired yesterday n going a bit stir crazy in the flat, we managed to get out for a bit of a walk, ant was getting frustrated with the pram n rain cover, it pee'd me off cos he'd had no interest in it until now n he kept shouting at 1 of the cats for crying when Dan did lol shes just sensitive! Need to remember to eat more today too! X

Yeah sounds like tiredness, make sure you both get rest as it is a huge change for both of you. Defiately you need to keep your energy up especially when you are breat feeding!!!

Yawn......think my little man is having a bit of a growth spurt, was up every hr or so oh well just gotta ride it out.

Mw visit went well yesterday he never flinched with the heel prick i had a cry tho lol. Hes lost 5 oz. They dont see u very often do they? Only had 2 visits next app next thur at childrens centre.
How are you all managing to get to app on time when bfing? X

My time of BF'ing is coming to an end and I'm sad. I start back work in 2 weeks or so, and it's night shift and it's any 3 days of the week, so I can't commit to that amount of pumping and I'll be basically taking my boobs away for an irregular 18 hours a day at a time, (11 hours at work, travelling and then sleep) so we've made the decision to stop BFing.

I want to keep going but I don't see how it's going to be possible logistically, different if it was set days or mon-fri - 9-5, and then my boobs would be on a routine but it's not going to work out that way.

He had a good 5 months.

Starting with skipping his last feed before bed and swapping it for formula.

I'll see you around ladies!

Lexi could you not carry on combifeeding? Also Work have to provide u with somewhere to bf n time to do it! Ill be back on shift work on 24/7 rota and they WILL provide me bf room ill make sure of that since they didnt look after me pg!

Well im riding the growth spurt storm!!! Its all eating n a bit of sleep for us lol........must stay positive!!!!! Had some skin on skin through the night.....so funny watching him wriggle across my breast to get to boob!!!

Can't believe my little man is a wk old already!!! Xxxx

Little help from you already mummas please?

Silly question...
But.... I didn't have braxton hicks with Jacob and don't think i do with this one...

What do they feel like

Start weight: 14s 7lb pre-preg: 13s13lb current at 36 weeks preg: 14s 6lb

Leanne i didnt have them either so cant help Lol

Well my fat feet have finally gone so popped on scales.....lost 1 st 9 woohoo.......got half stone to loose before im back to prepreg weight!

Spd/pgp seems to be settling down, managed a bit of a walk today with no struggle or pain.

Also breastfed in public for first time glad it wasnt busy! It went ok but felt bad covering him so no one could see my boob n stomach! Am watching a faye n lou breastfeeding butterfly on ebay which looks like a sling. X

My branxton hicks felt like super period pains and tightening across the belly and they were irregular, don't know if that helps :)

Jo sounds like everything is fitting in place with breast feeding, well done you. I can't comment as I use formula, did breast feed for 4 days and then expressed for 5m wks but the demand got too much and it was really affecting my mental health. I really believe that stress hormones go through breast milk as he appeared to be a hell of a lot happy on formula when switching over full time. Each case is different but the most important message is as long as mum and baby are happy that is all that matters :)

Maybe i just don't get braxton hicks then :/ I get ocasional tightenings and like discomfort on what feels like my cervix mostly when walking but that's it... Oh well 3 weeks to go!!!

Start weight: 14s 7lb pre-preg: 13s13lb current at 36 weeks preg: 14s 6lb

Thanks Bunny.
Looks like i got through my 1st growth spurt ok yay! Gonna start looking into expressing but will wait till ive seen mw on thur. Have ordered my bf butterfly so i can cover up when bf out!

aw, it is a shock when they first have a grown spurt and how much they drink - I mean where the hell does it go, lol But you soon get used to it, there be more to come along the way hehe. Have you got an appointment for his first set of injections yet injection - your going love that Charles his got his 12wk (second set) this Thursday, he did not need calpol last time but who knows this time :/

Jojo i could slap you! im 1.5 st away lol!!

so exciting news on the booby-bottle front. As you all know resident Booby snob Penny refuses every bottle in sight, infact she's so darn clever now.. its like she can sense it.. head, arms all over the place and instant tears! .. SO on recommendation on a friend with the same issue, i dug out a tommee tippe first sippy cup Penny was born, that id stored away. Its pink (so cute!).. and im going with a new tactic. Were ditching the bottles as its always a epic, expensive fail.. trying one bottle after the next. So ive given her this cup, and taking advantage of the fact she's now putting everything in her mouth, due to teething (grr) im letting her play with it.. she loves it, nomming away.. so im gunna let her get her co-ordination right, get used to it.. and in 2 weeks or so, bam.. gunna wack some expressed in ;) LOL

x

Oh and also.. Penny is now rolling CONSTANTLY. cue, needing a cot bumper (i know the SIDS advise is no, but shes going to hurt herself if she bangs herself any harder rolling in her sleep!)

Fern sorry hun didnt mean to rub it in lol! Ive alot more to loose than u anyway! Oo good idea with sippy cup fingers crossed it works. Hoping i dont have any bottle problems like u said its expensive! If these cot bumpers r so bad they wouldnt sell them x

Bunny..... Yeah it was a shock!! Today been lovely feeding wise n by time the next one comes along i should have some stored in the freezer so i dont have to do it all!! X
