Well guys I am now a student Vet Care Assistant at the PDSA :bliss:
The trial went really well and I just got stuck in. I got left with a lovely lady who's on her 2nd year of training and yesterday she was on theatre prep so I helped her with that. There really wasn't much I hadn't done before, it's just learning the different ways different people do stuff. I did get to go in to quarantine, which is something I haven't done in years, but no problem
After just over 2 hours the head nurse came to get me and sat me down with a numeracy and literacy test, which took all of 10mins, and then came back and offered me the job
I start on the 1st of December, which is perfect timing as I'm going to York the last week in Nov.
I'm also pleased to report that as of yet I have only been excited about starting work again. I fully expected to have a meltdown and be doubting myself, but so far I'm just excited.
The only wibble I've had is thinking about money-as I wont get paid till after Xmas and I have a whole £100 in my savings
But because I've been out of work through ill health for so freaking long I'm entitled to quite a lot of help and stuff from the job centre, so hopefully that will kick in quickly. I hope so!
But yeah, I have a job. I will be doing work that I love for a charity that I am very proud to be a part of
Thank you all SO much for your messages and support through all this. I know I can be a moaning pain in the ass at times So I can't really thank you all enough!
Had a celebratory day off filled with nominess yesterday, but not too over the top. Back on plan today tho
Wont bother putting my food in, will start again on Monday.xx
