Cheekychinchilla's food and stuff

Well guys I am now a student Vet Care Assistant at the PDSA  :bliss::bunnydance:

The trial went really well and I just got stuck in. I got left with a lovely lady who's on her 2nd year of training and yesterday she was on theatre prep so I helped her with that. There really wasn't much I hadn't done before, it's just learning the different ways different people do stuff. I did get to go in to quarantine, which is something I haven't done in years, but no problem :)
After just over 2 hours the head nurse came to get me and sat me down with a numeracy and literacy test, which took all of 10mins, and then came back and offered me the job :D
I start on the 1st of December, which is perfect timing as I'm going to York the last week in Nov.

I'm also pleased to report that as of yet I have only been excited about starting work again. I fully expected to have a meltdown and be doubting myself, but so far I'm just excited.
The only wibble I've had is thinking about money-as I wont get paid till after Xmas and I have a whole £100 in my savings
But because I've been out of work through ill health for so freaking long I'm entitled to quite a lot of help and stuff from the job centre, so hopefully that will kick in quickly. I hope so!

But yeah, I have a job. I will be doing work that I love for a charity that I am very proud to be a part of :D

Thank you all SO much for your messages and support through all this. I know I can be a moaning pain in the ass at times  So I can't really thank you all enough!

Had a celebratory day off filled with nominess yesterday, but not too over the top. Back on plan today tho :)
Wont bother putting my food in, will start again on Monday.xx

Congrats on the new job cheeky, you must be so pleased! Paramore must've been awesome, I'd love to see them live.

Week 44

Well I wasn't going to, but I got weighed today and I lost 1lb! So I have now lost 3.5st AND I'm in the 11's for the first time in my adult life   :D

Getting things moving for starting work now. Booked a dentist appointment for a couple of days before I start and I've been in touch with the job centre-just waiting for my advisor to get back to me. Also thinking up ideas for breakfasts and lunches for at work too. I am so gonna rock the SW packed lunch ;)

Also finally got started with my Christmas shopping. I am having to cut way back on my friends presents this year, but they don't seem to mind. I will still make a big effort tho. I love giving presents!! Haven't started on my Mum's and Sister's yet tho

Congratulations on the loss, that's brilliant! It's amazing that one little pound made all that difference! I'm going to weigh myself on Friday I think, bit terrified though because if I've STSed again I think I'll give up! Christmas shopping's so exciting! I'm making all my Christmas presents this year because my Masters has robbed me of pennies, really going to miss Christmas shopping! xx

I hope you do get a loss this week mate. You more than deserve it!!! Don't give up though, I would so miss having you as an SW buddy ;) I'll just pester you to death if you give up :p

Had a great morning at the vets today-theatre was nuts and we seriously went over and still didn't get everything done. My friend, who got a placement at a training practice recently, was in with her dog and ferret. Got to hang out for a bit and her Mum gave me a lift home :D
My vet already has replacements for me and was thrilled when I told him I was starting in Dec not Jan  I haven't even left yet!! Looks like I may not be able to keep going in to help out or if I can it really will only be every so often. Think the nurse is annoyed tbh!! But it's only fair to give someone else a chance now. Just feel like I'm getting pushed aside

Don't feel pushed out, they probably think you'll lose interest in their practice because you have another post lined up for a couple of weeks' time which is why they're anxious to get newbies trained up....

What veggie ravioli is it that's only 2 syns pretty please? :)

Thanks :) I might just not weigh myself yet to be on the safe side! Haha.

I'm sure they're not trying to push you out or anything! They should be happy since their training probably helped you get the job! They probably just wanted to make absolutely sure they had someone else before you left, December's not far off now! :)

Oh I know, but I wanted to stay! I'm only going to be working 3 days a week and I wanted to at least keep my Tuesday for a couple of times a month. Ah well, I'll just see what happens. They're still gonna see me at least once a month anyway coz Ellie will need her meds and both dogs are still VIP there. Just feel a bit meh about it. The head nurse seemed genuinely sad that I was leaving :(

Congrats on your 3.5st loss!

3.5lbs is a great loss, well done. I have never lost that in one week! You must be over the moon and so you should be.
I am guessing the Vegi ravoli is the Sainsbury's tinned one, its yummy and great for a quick lunch, i always keep a tin in my drawer at work.

Hi Teresa :) I've lost 3st 5lbs all together, I only lost 1lb this week. Still very very pleased tho!!

Had a lovely, lovely day today. Did Christmas shopping with Mum and got my new walking boots for work (work! YAY!), met my friend from the vets and went to see Let Me In, then met my other friends for burrito's and then Saw 3D :D
Was very good and had a proper veggie burrito. I did have a little bag of Minstrels tho ;)

Had another good day today. An old school friend (and there are only a handful of people I would consider as actual friends from school) has started working at my vets part time. He did his nurse training with my vet at his old practice! Was really cool to work with him. He also works at the PDSA on nights, so our paths should cross a bit more often now. It's weird when you work with animals because everyone seems to know everyone else or at least has some sort of connection. Like I went to school with our new nurse, but I was better friends with his girlfriend, who was the girl who set up Bug World where my best mate is head keeper. Lol It's like a big, in-bred family :p
