Chelsea Lou - The Ventura adventure, not a sinking ship!

Love the purple laptop and the purple writing.....I don't mind spiders but have an utter phobia of snakes which I am trying to get to grips with, as last year I saw 3 around here (so how many more were there that I didn't see?:eek::eek::eek:.)

Shame about your pet spider in the bathroom and the murdering daughter! We have lots of ladybirds in ours, sometimes they drop in the bath and I rescue them and put them on loo roll to dry them while talking to them, so I expect that the men in white coats will be calling here after they have been to you .

Hope the sore throat gets better soon. xx
well done on the not smoking by the way, that's brilliant! x
How funny, you drying out ladybirds and talking to them. "They're coming to take me away ha ha he he haw haw..........."

Back to the blue writing tomorrow. Just wanted to mark my purple laptop arriving. Got it all set up, copied all my stuff over from my other one, which Jess now has. It has freed up so much disc space and is now super-fast. Bloody thing took over half an hour to load up the other evening, hence me buying a new one....well that's my excuse anyway ;)

Well, from one nutter to another, I shall go and read a few diaries xxx

Great! All set up then. I think you are dead clever, knowing what to buy and swapping it all over, I am hopelessly un-techy. I need a new mobile phone, DD 3 found a good one on 'tinternet, from Tesco direct but I couldn't buy it because it wouldn't let me unless I asked for a points card....and I wouldn't on principle, so no new phone......Why is life so complicated?

Aw search me Bess, I'm still steam-driven lol, having said all that I've just synched my ipod to the new computer and am now downloading the Rumer album that I have just bought lol. Sometimes technology is a good thing, mostly it is a pain in the proverbial :D

Purple and worms

All this talk of the colour purple and worms reminded me of a little verse I read years ago. Think New Yoik here:-

There's a big white van just pulled up outside, Chels... RUN!!!

Day 24 Insomnia and Insanity

After yesterday's postings you probably think I am completely barking mad.....oooh er, you may have a point!!

So, its just gone 3:00 am, can't sleep. Can't breathe because of a blocked nose and my neck glands are still swollen and painful :( I so don't want to be ill.

Tonight is my 3rd WI. I am thinking maybe 2lbs down. I know I have been really good, I know that I have had absolutely nothing I shouldn't have had but the losses have been slower this time, so really not looking beyond the 2lbs. Anything more would be a nice bonus and anything less doesn't bear thinking about!!!!

Jess is nicely sorted out with my old laptop now, so she's happy. She can start work on the Web Design course now, post on minis whenever she wants and generally cause mayhem on FB :D It will mean less time stressing over everything food wise and hopefully she can get back on the wagon. I think she felt quite frustrated over the weekend. She said that she really needed minis support but she had no way of getting online. This place really is a lifeline.

Anyway, nothing exciting to report.....well it is the wee small hours but just to say that I will be popping by during the day and will be (hopefully) adjusting ticker later on

Have a good one xx

Yikes hun when I saw you posting so early I thought they really had come to take you away... so sorry you're feeling rotten Chels. Boo to sore throat and blocked nose, if you can get some echinacea liquid today, the only thing I know that can stop a cold sometimes, if you get it in time. Worth a try.

I so admire your restraint with the scales, when on CD asking me not to scale hop would be like asking me to sleep with a gigantic box of Thorntons truffles, it would not be possible to resist. I hope you get a good loss later on because you so, so deserve it. Glad Jess is happy with the laptop, you are such a fab mum! And amazed that you have got all the techy stuff done and dusted so fast, every comp change is an ordeal for us, we are so useless and struggle with the simplest things!

Have been meaning to say, I think you are AMAZING for kicking the fags and sticking with it, while also doing such a challenging diet... Chelsea is our hero!!!

Have a brilliant Tuesday!

xxx

Aw you are so sweet, thank you for your lovely words

I don't know about a hero........I'm just trying to do my best and if my wisdom and insight *tongue very firmly in cheek* helps anyone then thats great :D

Feeling absolutely knackered now though, do you think anyone will notice a sleeping receptionist?????

I am really chuffed about the not smoking and the truth is I haven't given ciggies a second thought, although I can't do without the nicotine lozenges at the moment. Cheaper and better for me though so not too worried at this stage. They are supposed to be a 3 month course, so will gradually wean myself off.

Hope you have a good day honey xx

WORMS!!!

Lol, it was you saying that you used to eat them that reminded me of the verse. Perhaps MinnieMel has heard of it?

Hi Ladies --

I'll ask my DH tonight. He is from da city. (No one from New York calls it the Big Apple). It sounds vaguely familiar to me but I grew up in Seattle -- below, this the worm poem/song we used to sing as kids:

Worms

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
I think I'll go eat worms!
Big fat juicy ones,
Eensie weensy squeensy ones,
See how they wiggle and squirm!

Oh how they wiggle and squirm!
Up comes the first one, up comes the second one,
Oh how they wiggle and squirm!
I bite off the heads, and suck out the juice,
And throw the skins away!
Nobody knows how fat I grow,
On worms three times a day!

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
I think I'll go eat worms!
Big fat juicy ones,
Eensie weensy squeensy ones,
See how they wiggle and squirm!

:hide:

I am boycotting this thread until the worm thing is over....

Worm your way out of that one Lise :D:D

Enough already!!!!!!!! Or is it?????? At least all the w*** talk is making me feel so ill that if I was thinking about food I so wouldn't want any lol xxx

Lol... joking, but ugh... My brother used to sing that old Yorkshire Ilkley Moor B'at 'At song and below the 'then we shall all have eaten worms' line at me. I don't even like eating spaghetti, for obvious reasons... shudder.

xxx

:O Was`t me that started it  I merely replied that I used to eat worms in response to someone else... CHEL was it? :p

Along the same vein.. We tried growing our own veggies last yr :)rolleyes:) and my hubbie cooked us a roast dinner with the broccoli he`d grown in the garden. He was proud as punch til I pointed out that it was full of (now boiled) caterpillars and inedible lmao

ach!!! I love gardening, but there's a major hazard of THOSE CREATURES WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED. You can take your life in your hands stepping into the veggie plot, I tell you!

I had a dream like that once about buckets full of wriggling worms and couldn't face a plate of spaghetti for months. Retched every time. Now there's a thought.........what can I replace chocolate with???

Oh how funny :D My ex MIL (the first one) served up a lovely quiche and salad years ago, all home grown salad vegetables and we were muching happily away until a slug crawled out from my future husband's lettuce leaf! He went all shades of green lol x
