Chelsea Lou - The Ventura adventure, not a sinking ship!

ach!!! I love gardening, but there's a major hazard of THOSE CREATURES WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED. You can take your life in your hands stepping into the veggie plot, I tell you!

xxx
We kind of failed on the growing veggies front, So the kids can stop panicking now lmao x

Oh how funny :D My ex MIL (the first one) served up a lovely quiche and salad years ago, all home grown salad vegetables and we were muching happily away until a slug crawled out from my future husband's lettuce leaf! He went all shades of green lol x

:rotflmao: I can just imagine the look on his face ROFL x

He was always a bit lily-livered and a wuss at the best of times. You should have seen him when I was delivering our two kids :D The only way he could cope was to make jokes........not entirely funny when you are trying to sh*t a football lol

Day 24 - 3rd WI

.com

I have been 100% and I am beginning to wonder if I am doing something wrong. I know 2lbs is good but for 24 days 100% I would have expected a bit more than 10lbs down. I will be hard pushed to see a stone in a month like Cambridge promises. Not downhearted, just perplexed!!

Had a good day at work today. Read some Beck in the lunch break. All makes such good sense. I feel that it will really help me with the mental battles.

Bought some "toning trainers" - Skechers - online this afternoon, free next day delivery and £67. They promise to do wonders to my backside, thighs, stomach muscles, circulation etc., just by walking in them. Hopefully they will motivate me to do more walking. I would love to receive them tomorrow morning then I can put them to the test with a 40 minute walk at lunch :D

I hope you all had a great day and are enjoying your evenings xxx

Well Chels, If I'd known you were up at 3am as well we could have had a party! I am so fed up of not sleeping I've bought some over the counter sleeping pills today.
Pretty routine, me curled up on the sofa with a book and a blanket in the early hours, more often than not actually. But poor you, you were awake because you were ill, I hope it's getting better now.

Did you read the bit in Beck where she says that losing weight is never a straight line downwards, no matter what the plan? Interesting and remember Katy lost her stone in a month, so I'm sure you will too. xx

I like the idea of a :party0023:Bess. Next time I'll give you a coooeeeeeeeeeee and see if you're about lol.

You know what its like. Blocked nose, can only breathe through your mouth. Mouth gets really dry so you can't swallow and your tongue is stuck to the roof of your mouth which, by the way, tastes like the bottom of a parrot's cage. Yuk. So it was a relief to get out of bed and put the tv on/get on minis.

My colleague swears by lavender oil on her pillow. I've never tried it but she says she sleeps like a baby - awake every two hours screaming lol. Maybe it might be a thing worth trying though Bess?

xxxx

Thanks for reminding me, I think I've got some somewhere.....It's so cold in the room where the computer is so I don't look at it in the night. We turn the heaters off in that room when we go to bed! xx

Hope it works for you hon and you get plenty of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's tonight.

I normally watch a bit of TV in bed, set the timer for 60 minutes and never see it turn itself off. Now if I could sort me nossie out I'd be hunky dory xx

Totally understand your feelings Chels, but you saw how I wobbled when I allowed that let-down feeling headspace. Hang on in there... you'll be fine, you are doing exactly what you should. You haven't stalled, if that happens think about moving up to 810, but I DO think things are slow this time around for me as well. It took me 30 or 31 days to lose my stone, and that was by my WI and not official remember... CDC comes tomorrow, may be a different story then. (She weighed me on Day 2 when had already lost 4lbs so by her stats I won't have lost anything like a stone.)

You are doing great, and your strong, steady determination is inspiring lots of us on here, me for one. I had that moment of 'it's not FAIRRRR...' but I got over it... yes, we are working hard, harder than last time, but I think being calm and steady counts for a lot and hanging in there will get us to the finish line. I suspect you'll get your stone in a month, too!

Sorry you are still feeling rotten... that won't help. I think you are doing brilliantly. You've come a long way... stick with it. Night night and sleep tight... tomorrow's a new day!

Hi Chels --

I am on Day 38 and I am one pound away from losing my first stone. So, I feel your pain. I also read through all that information on a the reduction on Leptin levels in people who were once obese and have lost weight, and how they need 15 to 20% fewer calories than someone (same height, build, weight) who has never been overweight.

That is why we regain so easily, and why the 2nd time around it goes about 15 to 20% slower. And, each time you regain and lose... it gets harder.

So, let's "do this thang" and figure out how to keep it off.

Love My Shoes -- looking forward to my sandals. (I wanted some boots, too -- but I don't dare.)

Thanks for that Katy. I remember your wobble and you did so well to pull yourself away from it. I really don't think that I will wobble. The feeling was momentary, a slight shoulder slump.

You are wrong about one thing though.......you all are my inspiration. I am just a passenger on this wagon, not the driver xxx

ah, none of us are 'just' passengers, we all take our turns at driving when needed... and sometimes, if we need to just curl up in the back, that's OK too!

Morning Chels,

I hope you have a good day at work.

I am debating about going to either aquafit (at one leisure centre) or trying a Zumba class (at another). It has been two weeks since I added in the Saturday morning RC Zumba class... so, it is time to find a 3rd fitness activity. (3 classes a week and I should be able to maintain my weight losses.)

I could also just go to the gym or work out here. ROTFLMAO

Exciting life, I lead. I do have things to do (housework, errands, be at my DD's school at 2:30 for a performance thing, then back again for pick-up at 4:15 -- after cheerleading), etc.

I hope the sun comes again... it was soooo lovely yesterday.

MM

P.S. I got an email telling me my sandals ahd already been shipped!

Mel, I so admire your determination 38 days and not quite a stone. I am telling myself that the slower the loss, the more likelihood of keeping the weight off!! That's what the experts say........right?

Anyway, today is another day, the start of another week and I am pleased about that! One thing I know for sure, by the end of February I will be a stone, at least, lighter :D

I am very excited about receiving my new Skechers Trainers today. I am really hoping that they arrive this morning, so that I can give them a test drive at lunchtime. I am really hoping that it does-what-it-says-on-the-tin and lifts and separates!!!!!!

Let me know how you get on with your new shoes Mel xxx

Thanks, But I bought some sandal type things. So, I guess I could do the German socks and sandals things to break them in! ;)

I am loving the other ones I have... I do think they work.

Day 25 - I feel sooooooooo rough!!! Gross alert!!

Morning all, I will try not to make this a depressing update :D

My blocked nose has got even worse overnight. I woke up this morning and the inside of both nostrils were completely covered in horrible sore crusts. I think my sinuses are infected and will definitely need to see the Doc now. My head/teeth/eyes hurt like hell and I look like I have been dug up this morning, with a Karl Marlden (sp)/Jimmy Durante nose to boot :( That is probably why the glands either side of my throat have been swollen for a few days. It is horrible because I am spending all day with a little mirror checking to make sure my nose looks clean. It's too sore to blow/wipe.

On the plus side, got my "lift and separate" training shoes to look forward to today. Can't wait to try them out. My CDC has a fitness instructor friend who wears them and swears by them. Oh for a pert, peachy little bottom........well maybe that is a tad unrealistic but you know what I mean lol.

I hope you are all having a wicked Wednesday and will try and catch up with all of your diaries as and when. Work is really busy today.

xxxx

Oh Chels that's rotten. I wonder if the bug is responsible for slow loss... body hanging on to reserves to help fight the infection? Bet it's something like that. Hope the doc can help.

Shoes sound cool, what exactly do they 'lift and separate' though? Toes? Ankles? Take it easy if you are walking this lunchtime, a rest might be smarter if you feel really rough.

xxx

When I was ill last time on CD, my weight loss was almost non existent so this could be why.... hang in there and it will drop twice as much once you are well again. Hope you feel better soon xx

How are you feeling Chels? Hanging on in there?
