Chelsea Lou - The Ventura adventure, not a sinking ship!

Day 26

Ooooooooh just two more days until I can say 1 month of CD 100%. I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it.

Update on Eric.... he was above the sink in the bathroom and he watched me apply make-up etc. When I went into the bedroom to get dressed he decided it was time to settle for the day - clever Eric knew I would be leaving for the day - so he snuggled up in the corner above the door.

Nose is very slightly better this morning. Managed to sleep from 11pm until 5:45am so that was good. Someone has now just asked me what I've done to my left eye as it is red and sore looking. News to me, must go and investigate in the ladies loo. Like the Duke of Edinburgh, bits of me are falling off/failing/drooping and I'm only 55

I hope you are all having wonderful Thursdays. Must go now...........I can hear the sirens :D

Glad you have seen the Doc Chels and I hope that you are feeling a bit better now, poor you, it does sound rough.

I'm pleased that Incy Wincy spider has returned, mind you, Jess might have murdered his mum.........:cry:poor Incy, he's an orphan now.......:(

I spoke to a pharmacist 2 days ago who sold me some sleeping tabs, quite gentle, and I had a brilliant night's sleep that night. Sadly they didn't do the trick a second time but I'll try again!

Look after yourself and keep getting better. xx

Oh no!!! Didn't consider that Eric might be an orphan now........Jess, you are so back on that hook!!!!

Glad you managed to get at least one good night's sleep Bess - it makes such a difference to how we look and feel when we have a good kip. Here's hoping you have another good night tonight :D xx

He's not an orphan... he has been adopted by an awesome Mum, you. This was Jess' plan all along... she knows what a fab mom you are and had always wanted a little brother, so she made it happen.

Lol, I think they had better start up several ambulances.......we're all as barmy as each other. Love it!!!

My skechers have just arrived. Shame it is persistently raining here......was looking forward to taking them for a test drive at lunchtime. How are you with your shoes Mel? xx

They work on a treadmill, Chels. I may be able to go and do that later on today -- it is raining here, too.

Hello Ace Ventura, glad you're feeling a bit better! Realized the orthodontist thing is actually tomorrow so back again, supposedly to work! Glad Eric is well, didn't realize he was related to Jess...

Yes.......apparently he is Jess' little brother. This forum is become more mental by the day lol. Love it!!!!

Glad you realised about the appointment before you actually dragged DD out of school and drove to it. How maddening would that be?

Anyway, my skechers, which arrived this morning. The label attached says the following:-

Promotes weight loss :D:D
Strengthens back :D
Firm calf and buttock muscles :D:D:D
Reduces cellulite and tones thighs :D:D:D:D
Increases cardiovascular health :D:D
Improves posture :D
Reduces stress on knee and ankle joints :D

On that basis, I should take some measurements and just see. I could also measure the height from the floor that my buttocks are currently, probably about a foot at present lol, and see if it does "lift and separate"

They recommend 25 minutes per day to start with gradually building up the time you are walking about in them. I particularly like the DVD enclosed in the box.

"Now you put your left foot in the left shoe"
"This is how you tie your laces"
"This is how you walk"
"This is the correct way to pick yourself up off the floor without looking a complete doofus"

If you see a mad woman looking like someone from The Ministry of Silly Walks then you will know its me. Please say Hi and don't cross the street :rotflmao:

Lol. My MBTs had a disc as well, featuring these gorgeous tall Masai warriors running barefoot around the savannah... and me struggling to stay upright. They 'rock' you a bit when you walk, do Skechers do something similar?

xxx

Do you have savannah's in Scotland? :D

I'm not sure but the fact that there is an instruction manual must mean that you have to learn to walk in a different way.

I think I had better wait until after dark before I go out in them for the first time and wear knee and elbow protectors for all the trips and falls lol

New Shoes!!!

Hi Chels,

I LOVE Monty Python!!! Spam-a-Lot was a hoot!

I am wearing my new Sketchers Sandals -- I think I will have to tighten the top band... it has a bit of give and they tend to do the slap thing when I step. They are WAY more comfortable than new Birkenstocks (those really have to be broken in). I took a couple of pics... let's see if I can rival Shanny in photo uploading skills.

WHOOHOOO... I impressed myself with adding the thumbnails! (Sorry to double post... but I am amazed. Learned something new today!)

MM

P.S. They are little darker shade of brown than I would have liked... but not bad. (And cheaper than Birkenstocks, too.)

Nice Mel... do they have black ones too d'you know?

Chels, no savannahs in Scotland, just ditches, in which I find myself wallowing every now and then, often while wearing MBTS...

xxxx

Whoa Mel, I am very impressed with your IT skills :)

Perhaps you can shed light on the necessity for a DVD with these trainers? Do you have to learn to walk differently? If so, how different? Will I look even more stupid than I do already? lol

hee hee, I'm picturing you with your legs up in the air at the bottom of a muddy ditch.

Excuse my ignorance but what do MBTs stand for?

Is it Muddy Bloody Trainers...........after you fallen in ditch????? :D

@KC -- Yes, they have black and I will probably be buying myself some of those, too.

I might make them my getting to 10 stone gift.

I've already booked a 1/2 spa day for the getting under 11 stones -- next Tuesday.

So, these brown ones need to be my getting to 10.5 stones gift. As it is not sandal weather, yet, I can put them back in the box until that date.

As you can see I am optomistic about losing the weight -- as I have also bought my "being at goal gift" -- the trip to Texas!

@Chels -- Thanks. I am usually techno challenged.

Chels, that's not a bad description... were you watching?

MBT stands for Masai Barefoot Technology. The Masai rarely wear shoes and have a very different way of walking, very natural, and the shoes hold your foot a certain way and the soles curve up at heel and toe so they are a bit see-saw-ish. I got them 4 years ago when i had a damaged heel that dragged on for a year... they helped, suddenly no more pain. And like the skechers are meant to tone and work out the legs & bum as you work a bit harder to stay balanced. Or not balanced, in my case. To be fair, I love them now and am used to them!

Mel, woo-hoo to the upcoming spa day!

Mel, that is such a good thing to do, giving yourself little gifts when you reach certain goals. I've already given myself my 32lbs loss gift - my purple laptop lol. I was very confident that I would make goal :D

It sounds like the same thing KC, there are pictures of someone walking barefoot and they are curved at front and back, so lots of rocking methinks. Actually, I could officially be known as a 'Rock Chick' lol lol xx

Rock chicks of the world unite... you have nothing to lose but... your balance...

(picks herself out of muddy ditch and staggers away, muttering...)

I know... I hope people think I'm drunk not clumsy.
