Chelsea Lou - The Ventura adventure, not a sinking ship!

Hi Shanny,

As of 1st March will be 810ing it :D Hopefully maybe another 5-7lbs will be off by then so about a stone or just under left to work up the plans. Should be do-able don't you think?

I am just so excited about the cruise and can't wait to hear about your experiences, to whet my appetite. Hopefully you can post a couple of pics on here for us all to enjoy too.

Bought any more bargains lately in the frock department? I can't wait to start looking at all the clothes in June, no point now as I intend to be at least another dress size smaller..........oh deep joy.

Hope you are well doll xx

Hi Shanny -- My Dd's half-term break started today (professional day at the school). Works out well since her birthday party is later on today through tomorrow. I have loads to do for it -- so, I'll get crackin' soon.

I hope you have a wonderful half-term break.

Day 34 I've impressed myself again this morning )

Morning peeps, hope you are all well today on this fabulous Friday.

I've already given myself a credit this morning, and it was only 8:00

Our Group Head of H & S, who happens to be a really lovely man, emailed me at the beginning of the week to see if he could book a meeting room, anyway the exchange was roughly that I confirmed the booking, he said he would make me a coffee when he arrived, I said black no sugar would be great, he then asked if I liked digestives or bourbons, I replied that I preferred digestives.......better for dunking. Anyway, he arrived this morning and took out a packed of chocolate digestives from his brief case.........ooh bless. I thanked him, of course.. waited until he had disappeared and gave the whole, unopened packet away. Go me!!!

Previously I would have been face down in the pack before he had cleared Reception

I thought the whole thing was just a bit of banter and the fact that someone so high up would do that for me......well, feel a bit chuffed if I'm honest.

Nothing else to report really. Having my hair coloured tomorrow. Some caramel and blonde highlights, subtle for a sun-kissed look. I will probably come out looking like sun-frazzled but hey-ho. Then helping my DD2 have a clean up at their new home they are desperate to move back into.

When I say new home, it was a dilapidated 2 bed bungalow when they bought it last April. They moved out in September for building work to take place and is now a 4 bed house with separate lounge/bedroom/bathroom downstairs for the FIL. They are moving into it permanently next week, so we need to give it a good clean over this weekend, ready for the carpets and wood flooring to go down.

Just received a phone call from someone who bought my old television off ebay. He's coming to pick it up and hand over the wonga at 5pm tomorrow :D Busy day coming right up I think.

Well, must get some work done. Will be popping by during the day to see what you are all up to. Have a good one xxx

Hi Chels,

It is nice when good work gets recognition.

Congrats on the sale of the Tele... that ought to pay for very lovely highlights.

Again, what a good mum you are -- giving up your weekend to help clean your DD's house.

Please get someone who knows how to focus a camera to take a picture of you when your has been done, and post it as your avatar (the one you have is a bit fuzzy). I know I can never make my hair look the way the hairstylist does, and I am sure it'll look fab!

Oooh errr, you look cross KC!!! Your avatar pic has disappeared and there is just a box with a cross in it, :D:D It's pretty darn cold here, so must be really fffffreezing in Scotland! Get your thermals on sweetie, stoke up the fire, close the curtains and snuggle in.

Cruise dreaming is all I am doing at the moment. Thinking of waking up in the mornings, going out to the balcony and having breakfast, watching the ocean slip by. Lying on deck, around a pool, drinkie poos in one hand, good book in the other and craftily eyeing up men when no-one's looking ;) ;) Partaking in a nice spot of lunch........all healthy of course. Getting ready and dressed to the nines for dinner. Bit of a boogie, bit of listening chilling in the piano bar ooooooh so much to do and dream about. Oh yes, and my daughter is getting married lol.

Does that help you warm up any? xx

It warms me up, sounds just brilliant! You've a busy weekend ahead and congrats on giving away the biscuits.
But what's all this 'someone so high up' stuff? He's obviously a kind thoughtful man no matter what his job is, being considerate to another colleague. Don't put yourself down Mrs!! xx

Sounds like a great day so far hun , well done on the biccies thing...big credit to you!!!
The cruise sound lush, my hubby would love a cruise but I get sickness really badly on boats, stayed on a moored house boat in Amsterdam once and spent all my time sitting on the steps canalside as i couldn't stand up in the boat...ha ha! everyone though it was mighty funny as they couldn't even feel the boat moving...shame really as cruises sound so luxurious and relaxing, would love it, just can't risk shelling out cash and then spending the time chucking up!!
Enjoy your busy weekend darl

Yikes, hope my profile pic is back, don't like the 'cross' look!!!

So... you are taking a big trunk on this cruise, right? Room for some extra luggage? (Incentive for KC: get to goal so she can shoe-horn herself into Chelsea's suitcase...) That cruise sounds amazing. Sigh!!!

Aw to the nice boss person being so sweet, no wonder, I bet you brighten up his day all the time. And big well done on 'losing' the biccies!

Absolutely freakin livid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so mad.........

I drove into the nearby town as I needed to go to the chemist, plus they have several charity shops in the high street and thought I would take a little look.

What used to be a free car park is now pay and display. I went to the machine, put 45p in for the hour, pressed the button. No ticket and the display said "cancelled" Did the same thing in the machine right next to it and ditto. So I walked back to my car, to make sure I had locked it and went on my way. That was at 12:30.

When I got back at about 12:55 I discovered I had been clamped. The lovely skinhead thug-looking guy that clamped me was sitting about 4 spaces away from me and must have seen me try to buy a ticket. He must have had that clamp on before I had reached the exit of the car park. Well, language was very anglo-saxon both to him and the a*sehole I spoke to on the phone. Apparently I had been pressing the wrong button for a ticket so was still liable for the £65 fine.

When Thug asked me how I was going to pay, "Cash or card?" I screamed at him "How about in kind, because I've got f**k all else!!!" At this point, some old boy sitting in his car watching this pantomime burst out laughing. You have to understand that when I screamed "In kind" I actually opened my jacket so he could see the (rather ample) goods.

I also enquired (?) as to whether or not he enjoyed his effing job, how did he sleep at effing night etc etc. Not very lady like at all I'm afraid. It the total injustice that gets me.

So my little venture has cost me £65. I have a sore throat and for one nano-second thought about having a cigarette and/or chocolate.

Need to get Beck out of my bag, calm down and........breathe. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh Chels, NOOO!!! *******. That's SO mean. I would feel just the same, but probably would have crumbled into tears after the first angry words. I am such a wuss. And then I'd stew about it all for days, things like that eat me up, as you say it's the sheer injustice.

Can you see if you can appeal in writing, explaining that the car park attendant watched you struggling with the machine and failed to help you? Worth a try. I was once let off a parking 'crime' for being generally useless and clueless.

DO NOT smoke, you are a LEGEND to have come this far, PLEASE don't let these losers stuff it up for you. Ditto with the chocolate. Breathe. And flick the bad, horrid feelings out of the end of your fingers, onto the floor... it sounds crazy but it helps. (A Tai C'hi trick my calm & easy going brother taught me long ago.)

Breathe. Flick. Breathe. Let go.... (keep breathing, btw...)

edited to say - ooh, they replaced my choice of descriptive word with stars!!!

lol Katy, that happened to me.......this site doesn't like the use of the word bar stewards hahahaha.

I wont let the little toe-rag stop me from doing what I am doing, still seething but have calmed down. As for the tears? Don't worry they came alright, the minute I saw the slimy little git and started ranting. I always cry when I am angry and trying to get my point across, likewise I always swear like an old navvy. I just cant seem to find all the right words in times of crisis. I sooo wish I could be more eloquent.......a la Margot Leadbetter (The Good Life) or similar. I just keep thinking that £65 would pay for 10 days of CD packs or half the cost of my hair being done tomorrow.

I am smiling though at the memory of me shaking my jubblies at him asking if he wanted paying in kind lol. The old boy listening a couple of cars along and roaring with laughter will stay with me for a long time. Stupid thing is, I wouldn't have had the little weasel as a gift. :eek:Supposing he had taken me up on my offer.........O.M.G lol lol

Oh, the absolute B******S ! Is this legal? I'd make such a fuss, ring the police and find out.
Great that you are a ballsy woman; like Katy, I'd have crumpled and stewed for days after. Good for you not giving in to the chocolate and ciggies though.
How about the CAB? Ring and find out the facts about this, it's never right, watching you trying to pay and then clamping your car - this really is wrong. I'm sooo mad on your behalf now!! Do you know I've wondered abput clamping and what I'd do, there's been a lot about it on the radio lately. I think I should buy a clamp and if it ever happens to me, clamp the their car when they arrive. I'm so cross!

Aw, thanks Bess. I think these firms will be illegal from April and he has given me a form to use for an Appeal but basically I think they have got you over a barrel. I asked the guy on the phone if they were trying to get the cash in before they were illegal? I told him they were effing a**eholes, the lowest of the low and wondered how they could sleep in their beds at night. I think the whole of Frimley town must have heard me hahahaha. Such a delicate little flower I am.

I am now hovering above myself, back at the scene and can picture it all from start to finish and I have to say......apart from the £65...........it is soooooo funny.

Loopy Lou xxx :D

Hiya Chels, I think parking attendants are a breed all of their very own!! In my local town my friend got clamped because the front of her car (a stationwagon) hung over a little bit into the space in front. When she rang up and said she had her pay and display ticket clearly visible. They said she'd only bought one ticket and was using 2 spaces!! The air was blue!! But she ended up having to pay to get the clamp off still.

I noticed on Shannys diary and in yours, you said you're reading Beck. Are you doing the exercises I started off with my note book and Response cards but yesterday and today I've let it slide s bit. I just wondered if you think you really need to follow it to the letter, or reading it and trying to follow the principles will be enough. Xx

Hiya Surfhunny, thanks for replying. Your poor mate. If they made spaces long enough to accommodate larger cars then it wouldn't have been an issue. When you made every effort to either buy a ticket, or have bought a ticket it is all the more galling. Grrrrrr.

Regarding Beck. I started just reading a day at a time and doing the Card thingy every day. I've got about six at the moment but have let it lapse a bit...the reading of it but some things have clicked into place already. Like eating sitting down, being aware etc etc. I do think it will take practice and a lot of re-reading before it sinks in, after all, I've developed these bad habits over the course of the last 50+ years  I will get there though......have to basically and I do think it is a very good book. Might curl up with it tonight and read some more, starting from the beginning to reinforce stuff already read.

xxx

Thanks I think I'm going to keep trying with the cards but maybe not go the whole hog with food diaries etc, I guess that's hardly necessary when I'm having 3 shakes a day :)

Lol, it wouldnt be much of a diary would it?

Breakfast - 1 shake

Lunch another - shake

Supper - a third shake

I am the same at the mo. No point in a diary as such, however, as of 1st March I shall be moving up to 810 so perhaps will do a food diary then. I just think that it will help me get my head sorted for when I've moved through the CD steps to maintenance. I just don't want it to become such an issue. I need to get a 'naturally slim person's ' head and way of thinking going. If you read KD, Porgeous and The Diet Guy (Icemoose) diaries and posts, they have all got their heads right and no longer panic about food or diet. That is where I want to get to.

xx

I'm the same my head is all over the place with dieting and I'd love to finally get it right!! That's why I bought the Beck book, I'll get there one day I hope!! X
