Chelsea Lou - The Ventura adventure, not a sinking ship!

Hi Yang,

I am still voting for the ALL ECLAIR Diet! ;)

I have a 15' foot pool -- if you go and dig out big enough for that you can have it -- seriously. ;)

Morning Chels, hope you are feeling more positive today and have big plans on how you are going to continue..... have a good day xx

Morning Yang,

I hope the sun is shining on you, and you have a wonderful day.

I am just finishing up some things related to packing and house, and well headed down to London in early afternoon. (I want to avoid the evening rush hour traffic, if possible.)

Ying

P.S. Sorry about the Masters' -- I thought you had a shot.

Morning Chels, hope sun is shining on you hun. Wow to the exercise... yikes! Better than the gym I bet. I still think the lb gain is a leftover from the carb gain after stopping CD, and that you'd have got it on any diet... SW is chipping away at that carb gain and the losses are FAT so be strong and keep going. In a week or two if you still feel unhappy with the progress, then sure, think again... but give it a fair chance. (I am talking to myself here as much as to you hun as I have yet to get myself properly in the SW zone. But I will, and when i find that peaceful, contented way of eating I will be happy even if the losses are slow, as the last few weeks have been so awful...)

Sending a hug, I think you are doing brilliantly.

My heart went out to Rory McIlroy, poor lamb. I dropped out from Saturday onwards.....shames, was relying on a big payday:D

I've got no idea how I am going to continue. Its not like I have been having bucket loads of the free food. All the books tell you to never go hungry and to fill up on free food. Plus I have been mindful of having superfree foods on the majority of the plate. Just don't know what to do

Still beautifully sunny here......not quite as warm as the weekend, but still gorgeous.

Hope the sun is shining on you all xxx Have a great trip MM and see you when you get back xxx

Hi Yang,

I think the Slimming World could work for you, if you counted the calories (went with low GI/low carb). The beans are high in carbs, so are bananas, etc.

You could use
Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal | MyFitnessPal.com to count the calories. There are phone apps for it, too. I am pretty sure Katie and LiSe (Determinator and SacredSilence) who a successfully maintaining are using this website.

In other words, your BMR is between 1300 and 1400. Then you could try to not exceed 1,000 calories, and you should lose weight. It'll not be loads -- about a pound or so a week (unless you up the exercise) -- but between one and two pounds a week is what experts recommend. The studies show that you are more likely to keep the weigh off long-term if you lose it this way.

Although it has taken me ages (nearly four months), this morning my bmi was 25 (again)! So, I did not make my goal weight before my trip, but I did get back to a healthy weight. (This "target" should be motivational to not over do in the States, so I can stay at a healthy bmi.)

Thanks for the good wishes -- I'll try to check in whilst I am away. Give Jess my best!

Will do sweetheart.......pass on your best to Jess that is.

I have signed up to myfitnesspal but never bothered logging onto it. Maybe that is something I need to consider.

Be good if you can log on from time to time whilst you were away. Whatever happened to just "going on holiday" Time was you could go away and no-one would be able to, or expect to be able to contact you for a week or two. Technology isnt always a good thing. When I used to work in a local hospital I used to come across people recovering from huge surgeries, beavering away on their laptops working. For pity's sake.......you've just had surgery and you are meant to be convalescing!!!

Take care hun xxx

Well done MM on the BMI 25 and have a FAB holiday! (Sorry for hijack lovely Chels!)

Hi Chels,

I've been thinking about you and what you could do to try and get things shifting in the weight department whilst still remaining on SW. Personally I wouldn't start calorie counting because it goes against the whole point of SW which is to eat good food freely (until satisfied - not stuffed) but there are things you can do within the plans that might help.

I'm guessing that you are doing EE at the moment. EE is easy and the most flexible plan but some people (myself included) find that it's not great for weight loss. Personally I find the green or red plans better for losing weight and if you are carb sensitive the red plan is probably best. I did red days for 2 days last week and I think it really helped with my weight loss. Don't stick with the same plan if you don't feel it works for you. Mix it up and get the weight moving - then you can go back to EE on days when you need that additional flexibility of eating both carbs and proteins freely...

Just my thoughts:)

Do you know Alli, I am such a dunce  I have all the books and did Red days on SW years ago, yet it never occurred to me to switch to red days.......I tell you, if I had a brain cell, I would be absolutely deadly :D

Carbs really are a no-no for me and that is why the green plan never worked. I used to have the odd day doing green but very few and far between. Will have to check the good old bank account to see if there's enough spondies for me to go out and buy lots of meat and see how I go.

xx

Some friends came for supper last night Chels, the woman is 5'1" , 52 and has lost 1 stone on SW EE in 7 weeks, she's at goal, is mantaining and looks fab. Alli's advice is very good and something I hadn't thought of - mix and match - great idea. :). It does work though. xx

I can recommend Joe's sausages for syn free meat. I've stocked the freezer and have enough to keep me going through the summer with a few top ups from our local butcher. The marinades they use are really tasty and it's all completely free on red / EE! :)

They do next day delivery - but you kind of need to be at home to take delivery of it unless you have somewhere secure (ish) where they can leave it.

There's a butcher who makes syn free sausages and visits an SW group in this area, our consultant tells us when he's coming. Not made it yet, but might there be one near you? Can you ring a local Cons. and ask? x

Morning Chels,

So?? did the wii come out hun?

Come on Missus, where are you? Run away with Crush then? xx ;) :D

Lelly, the wii did come out but the batteries were flat in the wii board, then yesterday was a write-off because of a rotten migraine. Have got some new batteries and will be on there this evening. It did tell me though that I last visited about 176 days ago.........oops :D
Come on Missus, where are you? Run away with Crush then? xx ;) :D
lol, you have been wired into my dreams haven't you miss Bess??;) Crush would have run a country mile to get away if he had seen what I looked like yesterday. I look like I'd been dug up :D

Migraines are the devil's work........not sure what the trigger was this time, I am a weird one, sometimes certain things will trigger a migraine and other times they won't. Stressing about gaining a lb probably did it lol. I did have several plums yesterday and someone told me once that they are known to trigger migraines. So memo to self...........stay away from plums ;) xx

Ooooh never heard of plums triggering migraines, isn't it normally chocolate or cheese? I get migraines when I get stressed, have done since I was a child.

Hope you are feeling better today, daren't get on my wiifit, I bet it is longer than a year since I was last on it and I have put on tons of weight since then.... take care and have a good day xx

Hope you're all better, missed you yesterday... boards were soooo quiet! Hope you don't feel too wiped out today, I often do after a migraine, yuk.
