Hi Chels,
You are tiny: only 5'2' and 151lbs. Also, you are a more mature individual (like myself).
According to the NHS website and your posted stats,
Your
BMR is
1,345
calories a day
BMR Calculator - Basal Metabolic Rate Calculator (BMR)
This is your Basic Metaboloic Rate. This is what your body burns to maintain basic function. Any additional expenditure, even just sitting and typing burns a little fuel may be added to this basic caloric intake. To lose one pound, you must burn 3,500 hundred more calories than you consume.
I estimated your menu for yesterday to be:
Todays food so far has been 2 slices Hovis Nimble bread (HExB) scraping of light spread
about 200 calories
Eggs, bacon and baked beans for lunch (all free)
Harder to estimate, as no quantities are given but a guestimate is:
520 calories (two eggs, 1/2 cup baked beans, two slices of bacon, a little oil)
2 muller light yogurts (free)
220 calories
Milk in Tea/coffee (HExA)
75 calories (guestimate)
2 bananas (free)
210 (if medium)
Dinner will be couscous
176 (for one cup cooked)
Salad
Hard to know -- with dressing can be fairly high, olives, chickpeas, etc.? But, let's go with about 100 (guesstimate) before dressing is counted
with a couple of hard-boiled eggs
152 calories
I was going to have a pork chop with new potatoes and a selection of vegetables but not sure I can be bothered to put the oven on.......just too hot.
Hi Chels,
Going with low ball guesstimates and not thinking of the calories for dressing, etc.
This is about 1600 calories. Way too much for anyone on a diet. f you eat like this every day
you will gain about a 1/2 to 1 pound a week.
CFF was told to consume 1,500 calories a day whilst recovering from her surgery. She is 5'11" and ten years younger than you are -- her doctor said that she should still lose
a little weight on this diet (she has about 5 stone to lose).
This is why diets like WW No Count and Slimming World do not work well for everyone. I never found One Size fits all to be true. One size fits most, yes... but not all.
For people our size (we have one liter engines) we have to use calorie counting, carb counting, and PORTION CONTROL in order to lose and maintain our losses.
I use CD for a couple of meals a day because it is easy (and I feel I need to see my CWPC and be weighed regularly). But, I also use Low GI and Low Carb,
plus measure out everything for my "regular" food.
These are all things that Beck recommends that we do: and I know it works. DH is living proof. He has dropped two pounds this week (the b#st#rd). He has gone from 198 on January 2nd to 162 this morning. He has had three meals and two snacks a day (and does not drink enough water, and only started doing exercise, the elliptical, for about 30 to 45 min, three times a week a few weeks ago). He is 53 and only 5'6".
I do not mean to be discouraging, but I hate to see you trying so hard only to have it not work well. Slimming World's food can work you (just as the ALL-ECLAIR diet can), but only if you watch the calories in/calories out. Also, have berries and melon not bananas. Watch the carbs.
I have my CD packets and MAM mix in a bag, and my porridge packets and small baggies of slivered almonds in a bag -- so that is breakfast and a late night snack sorted for the 9 days in the U.S. My lunches and dinners will be one South Beach Bar (I'll get those in the US) or salad, and one South Beach Low GI/Low Carb (CD810/1000) meal whilst I am in the US. I am hoping to STS or even have my usual one to two pound loss.
Planning is essential -- I have decided to allow myself
only two visits to IHOP (and will cut back on other days and exercise more), and then make good choices otherwise.
A new ARC will read: I deserve to be thin and healthy more than I deserve that Peanut Buster Parfait from Dairy Queen!
