Hi Nikki,

I hope you read the link Nat posted. I have been trying to tell you this for a long time -- you are already in very good health and your body fat is low for a woman. It is not going to be easy for you to lose more fat, especially if you are not eating. Long distance runners have low body fat, but they fuel up with carbs and burn them. I think you should consider going to a nutritionist and getting a diet that suits someone with your level of fitness and activity. You don't need to be on a weight loss diet... you need to be on an althlete's diet.

I guess spray tan on the legs... but I think those textured tights are very sexy.

i'm thinking i'm pretty grateful to my body for loosing this weight.

plan.....

810 for 2 weeks
1000 1 week
1200 for xmas with days off for events!

running 3 miles every day, weights at gym, classes at gym when i can.

I'd call that Motivation! YAY!

This blog thing has freaked me out a bit!! I'm now very scared that in some way this is what's happening to me! What am I going to do if it is? How am I going to lose weight? Does it mean I have to stay this weight forever? Or is it just scare mongering? Because I read the nutritional contents of the CD packs and there's a lot more protein in them than this recommends. I'm so confused!

This plan looks good, you might find it works out brilliantly for you, can't wait to find out. I'll be grateful of any kind of loss this week but I'll secretly sulk when it's not at least 3lbs. I'm getting a bit sick of miserable small losses. BUT I'll get on with it, I'm not going to give up completely, not yet, even if I am totally confused now

CD has been cleared by government health and nurtrition checks. Most NHS doctor's will approve people to do this diet (unless they have medical issues). I think the higher protein probably protects the lean muscle a bit. You've done this diet before and know it works. It will work more slowly this time because you are a) starting at a lower weight, b) a bit older, c) have done it before and probably have a somewhat lower metabolism. So, do the diet, drink the water and up the fitness... do not let this BLOG discourage you. You are doing FAB!

How's your mum?

i'm working on upping my metabolism through working out with weights more now. my aim is to build more muscle to replace fat and to build a body that can burn calories more effectively!

This has been proven to be effective! Good plan.

Been to the gym. Ran 1 mile then worked on weights. Got showed how to use a power plate. Liked it. Think I've found some great ways of exercising for the next few weeks upping my cardio over Xmas to burn calories.

Think my iron is low! Getting quite breathless. During my mile run felt strange too. Going to go and get some iron tablets later today or tomorrow if there's none in the cupboard at home. Plus I'm feeling tired all the time. 2 sure signs for me!

Good fitness -- I think before you start taking iron you should have your doctor check. Too much iron is dangerous.

it's forever dropping low. last time i had a test it was very low... 6 or 7. can't remember.

i'm also bleeding when i go to the loo, piles but it's constant. i do not want to visit the docs as i'm really not in a mood to be poked and proded.

Can't say I blame you on that -- but I think iron will constipate you.

No, I dont think it is scare moungering per se, but I think it is effectively saying what we all know deep down. VCLD's provide a calorific deficit of around 1500 calories a day if you are on SS, up to around 2500 calories a day if you are moderately active (walking, going up and down flights of stairs etc) your BMR is what your body needs to consume to stay alive - it's what you burn just by breathing, metabolising and all your vital organs functions. SO, if you effectvely starve your body on a VCLD and are too active, it will shut down and weight loss will stop, you will bloat and you will probably become quite unwel as your organs struggle to opperate on such low calories.

My suggestion for all this is, protein hemp powder and banana smoothies. I would have 6 "meals" a day with 3 of them being a hemp smoothie. Early Morning, Mid Afternoon and Just before you train. You can get Hemp powder from Holland and Barret for about a tenna. Having looked into my own weight loss and struggles (I am on the go from 5 am until 12am most days, so thats not normal activity levels) this is what I am finding. It's the fact that it's not ENOUGH calories for active people and that slows any loss right the way down, and that when you dont have much to lose, then you will want to lose between 1-2lb a week as optimum.

Phew...Nickki, we will get there.

been quite busy today. dropped ems off at school popped to tescos then to a chemist for iron tablets. home and cleaning downstairs. i've moved things around ready for the tree.

lunch

moved spare room round. re-dressed the bed. washed the old bedding. put stuff in the loft, taken stuff out of the loft (wrapping paper and tree plus my teaching bag ready for jan) about 20 ups and downs the ladder. dropped off things at my parents that have been in my garage for ages. gave 3 baby gates away.

considering the tip but i've sat down for a shake and a peppermint tea and my energy and drive has gone. still 45mins before i need to leave for ems. she's then got swimming. i've taken a pie out for tea so will need to cook that when i get home.

might bring the set of drawers down though. will need to break them up first as they're big but flimsy.
