Daily chat...

that only applies if you get bogged down in what a "healthy" body fat percentage is

as I said earlier - I simply use them as ANOTHER tool to monitor progress...I don't care what my BMI/Body fat "should" be...

I only care that when I'm making "postive" changes...my body changes.. "positively"

like the needle on the car speedo :) wanna make sure I'm getting decent mpg (miles per gallon) :D

haaaaa!

I went to a steak restaurant for lunch today... and ordered... steak! And green beans (and butter). I did not touch the bread basket. I drank water. My friend had crispy fried spring rolls, followed by a HUGE burger + chips. I watched her. She ate all the spring rolls and left all the lettuce. OK. But for her main course, she took half the bread away, and left half the chips. She's not on a diet and doesn't need to be.

I'm watching... and learning... She said something amusing: when I'm no longer hungry, I stop eating. <what???????>

I'll happily put the bread from a burger aside (especially if its gone soggy - shudder) but to leave the chips, sooooooo not an option (unless in the US where the portion is just too much to contemplate, but how big can a french portion of chips be?).

Its interesting to hear about - far better than the "I can eat anything" "I eat loads" skinny people.

I agree... cos I've been watching people for several years now and those "I can eat anything" people, often do, yes... but then they let slip that "oh I wasn't hungry last night/this weekend, so hardly ate!".

My female boss, with whom I've been out for VERY fattening meals, and she ALWAYS has dessert in restos most days, freely admits that she rarely eats when she gets home at night. And, if she does, it's a slice of ham and a carrot!

interesting..... whereas id probably be thinking oh i should have something proper to eat and planning my meal. this is obviosuly where im going wrong!

that is true !!! we are the people who eat at every meal and enjoy wot we eat ,then when we are out eating have all 3 courses yum yum yum !!!

Yeah but it's a fine line between skipping dinner and then diving head first in a packet of <BEEP BEEP> mid-evening, and feeling no hunger so just having an early night... I'd be afraid of the former happening! Although it's true that, when I used to go swimming in the evenings, I didn't like to eat a proper meal afterwards as it was too late so would just have fruit...

i find if i swim evenings or went to aqua fit i wouldnt eat after great for weight loss that ...

my dads just been over and brought the kids a massive bag of sweets so not impressed with him tempted to bin them ....A so i dont get tempted as he bought me some too and b dont mind the kids having sweets every now and again but dont want them on my path in life

Tania, put them in the back of a cupboard and keep them for Rylee's birthday (the kids will never notice). You should be well on your way by then!

Swimming in the morning is good too (used to go before work back in the day when I had no kids and a swimming pool 10 minutes walk away from where I lived - ie years ago!)

(I've a swimming pool in the building where I live! Do I go? hmm... too small, too many people, and opens too late for me to be able to do my stuff, take care of my hair and get to work on time! Evenings, too many kids... and that's my excuse!!).

MORNING all! Great walk this morning! Took a different route...

morning jo ,ur walks past the eiffel tower sound ace !! so did u take a longer route !!!

Absolutely... the Eiffel Tower way is the shortest I know now (and it used to take me 1h30 and I'd stop for a puff midway!! haaaa). Today I went around the streets more, which isn't as nice with heavy traffic hence I leave home pretty early...

No "daily chat" I see... but lots of activity on the threads, so I'll try to catch up over lunch... (this transcribing business takes me away from my valuable surfing time - and might be more of a regular thing also, alas!!).

For me, a bright sunny day AT LAST, and looking forward to getting to the country tonight. Busy weekend as always, not least because we've to get down and sort out our car boot sale stuff for the 17th. My sister gave me a few bags of clothes, which need sizing in a way the French would understand, and so I shall have something to do while the other half sits intrigued in front of the Formula 1 on Sunday pm!

Note to self - get out and walk Sunday morning! anywhere... just half an hour fast, and it helps no end!!

So see you all Monday if not before... now around the threads I go!

I'm sure I'll find some paint to watch drying somewhere!! hihi! (No actually this season has been more interesting, I grant you, and so I'll be there in the room doing my thing... just that it's sooooo long!)

ello daily chatter's hope we are all ok and have had a good weekend !!!!!!!!!!!
