Debridgers' Food Diary & Ramblings

Morning all.... well, here we go again, back in the office - YAWN... really had enough now, although, think I'll only go in 2 days a week, work from home Weds/Thur/Fri where possible, we still need to do training & a handover... so, anyway, only another 56 days to go!!!

Saurday was a quietish day - lie-in, bit of lunch, dog walking, popped to Aldi & Lidl to see what bargains they had, then we went to the Harvester...I drove, so was on diet pepsi, mind, having said that Ken only had 1 pint himself, then back to his as we needed to look after his dogs, I suggested we stayed, otherwise he'd be up at 7am, just to let them out to come back again... seemed a bit daft to me!

Sunday was a complete waste of the day... was in a right CBA mood, left him at his in the garage... he's renovating a 1953 Morris, and me, well I sat all cosy on the sofa watching TV - I really need a bit of motivation, think maybe as I can't be bothered with work, it's rubbed onto the rest of my life... Not good, I need to snap out of it ASAP

Foodwise, pretty good, although I didn't eat enough on Sunday - back to that CBA I guess, anyhoo

WK13 D2 Sat 03 Nov - EE

did EE as I was going out,

Lunch: prawn mayo sarnie // fruit
2x400g nimble malted granary (HEB1), prawns, 1 tbs LTL mayo (0.5), cucumber, tomato // apple, banana, plum

Dinner: (Harvester) grilled seabass, veg, jacket & salad
grilled seabass, jacket potato parsley & crème fraiche sauce (2), green beans, corn on cob, lettuce, carrot, beetroot, sweetcorn, mixed pepper, tomato, cucumber, onion

I measured out some LTL mayo.... and forgot to take it DOH
Oh, I did eat 2 large bowls of salad, and I only had the 'naked' stuff - none of the coleslaw, potato salad, pasta and the like, no toppings, I'm not wasting syns on their lf mayo - 2 per/tbs compared to mine at 0.5 per/tbs!!!

Supper: Hot milk
250ml semi-skim milk (HEA1)

Ken, bless him, brought me a coffee up in bed whilst we were watching a film, and also brought up some hot milk (measured) as he knew I hadn't had any HEA...:lilkiss:

Hi hun, Thanks for the recipe - I'm deffo gonna try that one :)

You're doing really well hun and I'm very proud of you xx

Now we just need to get this job situation sorted! Have you started looking around for a new one?

Thanks Ali... I'm feeling good about it at the moment... so it seems to be working,
even to the point where I have to walk past a desk of goodies - sweeties, biscuits and loads of chocolate, and I'm just ignoring it... you know me.... 4 quality street or a pint of beer... No option really is there lol

Yeah, I enjoyed the Mousakka, hope you do too - will defo make it again

Well, as for a job, no, not really, I have put my CV into the new big port on the Thames - London Gateway.. gonna be huge, but they are taking their time.... a friend had 4 interviews...although he has been offered & accepted, but other than that, I haven't bothered yet - we're thinking of slipping away for a month early next year, we haven't had a holiday for a couple of years, what with Mum & stuff, couldn't go away whilst she was ill, so think I'll use it as a bit of time out, and thinking about what I actually want to do....I could've moved with this job to Copenhagen, but it's not really the right time for me, and it's too damned cold brrrrr

I know you've been struggling a bit recently...You know you can do it!! x

Thanks mate - yes, we'll get there. We've known eachother for nearly 2 years now! Can you believe that?

Copenhagen would be too bloody cold for me too! And the beer is too expensive ;)

I think a good few weeks away sounds like a plan for you and Ken :)

Will your redundancy tie you over for a bit?

I know, 2 years, you've got a bit further than me too!! Well done

Yeah, Copenhagen is expensive, and did you know income tax is 50% thought ours was bad!
I've also been told that, although London is expensive, we still have cheap, medium & pricey for stuff like meals out, but there the choice is pricey & very pricy - nah, I'll stay here for now - if they'd offered me US, China, India or some such place, I would maybe have considered it a bit

Well, though I only have a redundancy idea, I'll find out later this month the actual figure, I should be OK for a few months or so, but I do have savings too, which is why I'm prepared to splash a few quid for a nice long, hot holiday - SW will get a bettering lol!
You know me, I'll bounce back!!

foodie update:

Breakfast: banana

Lunch: Fishy salad // melon medley

Dinner: Fish soupy thing
35g wholemeal pasta (HEB1), king prawns, squid, mussels, onion, fish stock cube, ff fromage frais

I left this quite soupy, and in all honesty, didn't really need the pasta, but did need to have an HEB!!
Think next time, I'll leave out the pasta, but I will add a diced courgette.....think that'll be tastier... in fact, I fancy that as I'm typing this lol

Snack: fruit
plums & pear

Supper:
250ml semi-skim milk (HEA2)

Hiya hunni

thought id pop in :):)

im sorry to hear about the redundancy, its happening at our place too. our department hasnt been touched yet -but my friend in another dept got put on consultation.
Its the 2nd round of them since 2009. its not nice at all- im glad i have savings

im not happy at work, ive felt like that for at least 1 year, ive recently (may this yr) been dianosed with IBS with stress and anniexty- been stuck there for a few years due to the resssion, wanted to stay put as i have a mortgage as well. but my health come first and im very un happy in the office enviroment due to some staff / managers - so ive decided to start looking, fresh start for 2013:new_year:

the hoilday idea sound fab :party0011::party0011::party0011:

Hi Minx, thanks for popping by - not ignoring you, just not been about..... sorry!!

Ah redundancy.... must admit, for me it's a bit of a relief, been thinking about moving on for a while, but knew it was just a matter of time
I've been there since 2007, and we've gone through 4 lots previously, and each time my dept. has increased, but you could see that it was on the cards, although didn't think it would be for another 6-12 months.
Glad you're safe for the moment... what do you do? I'm in shipping

If yor IBS is stress related, then yes, a move is a good idea..... it's always easier to get another job whilst you have one, so hang in there

I'm lucky enough to work from home 2 days a week, which makes it a lot easier.... just pretty bored really, no challenge, and travelling dried-up..... so glad I'll be out of it..... but yes, a decent holiday seems to be the best idea I've had so far

Morning Debs hope you are ok and thank you for the messages on fb... Hoping to go home on Monday for a little while before they want to the next op... I certainly don't want to stay in any longer than I have to... Food is appaling so much so I have sent Kev for something I can eat... xx

hi ho, had a bit of a weekend... well, saying that, not as bad as some!!!

Friday night down the pub, but didn't drink as much as normal.....
Saturday we pottered about, then had a 40th birthday to go to, although I did drink - surprise, surprise, I was OK with the food, ate before we went, had a taster of a few bits, but avoided the bad stuff (pies, pasties, crisps etc), had a vodka/jelly shot... not that exciting really,
however, Ken & I did share a small kebab when we got home.... :sign0007:
Sunday we got up late, then walked his dogs, and then started putting a new roof on the garage..... so, again, a pretty lazy weekend AGAIN
Really need a kick up the bum, and get organised!!!

Back to work today...BORE but not long now (thankfully)

WK14 D3 Sun 11 Nov

Nothing (not ill, just didn't eat)

OK girls, just wanted to let you know, although I'm still following SW, I'm juggling it about a bit,
After watching the Horizon programme about Intermittent Fasting, the health benefits are great, so, I've decided to do an SW/JUDDD combo... let's hope my little experiment works, if it does, I'll have the best of both worlds.
I'm not expecting any great losses, in fact, this week may be a STS or a small gain, but I know that's just my body reacting......(oh, and my day off plan Saturday)

Wish me luck

Always behind you whatever plan you follow... Didn't see that programme, but it sounds interesting... Reckon it'll be on i player? Good luck will be watching with interest at how you do...xx

Not sure if it will still be on the i-player...BBC take stuff down pretty quickly, and this was on a while back, I'd recorded it and only watched it last week..... I then did some googling, and then watched it again with Ken..... although it did help reduce weight, it also reduced body fat, reduced the liklihood of age degenerative symptons, heart disease, etc... there's so much research into this..... it started off with a fella who's 101 completing the London Marathon.... You may find it on U-tube.. I can't check from work
