Diary of a menopausal Yorkshire lass...

Oh no I'm am sorry to hear that Mandyboo. I hope she will be ok x

Mandy, so sorry to hear about your Mum. Hope she's ok and that you are too. Keep us up to date with her progress x

Hi all, thank you all so much for your kind wishes it means a lot xx
Mum is picking up a bit, she had a nasty chest infection and needed to go for her warfarin check cos they're having trouble getting her levels right. For some reason she decided to get the job done as she put it rather than wait for me to take her - she's a stubborn old boot! She lost control of her car and drove into a parked one, both cars are write offs, and mum has had her licence revoked, it turns out she can't see properly as well as everything else that is wrong with her. The main thing is she lived to tell the tale and nobody else was hurt.
The diet has well and truly gone to the dogs... I'm going to start afresh tomorrow and hopefully I've not done too much damage

Morning Mandy I'm glad to hear your mums ok, we will probably try to be as independent when we are older.
What age is she ?
She was so lucky not to be injured but it is sure to have shaken her up.
Impossible to diet with all this going on so just start again and you will be grand.
Nothing new to report here, weather is not great so trying to motivate myself to do a weeks ironing x

Hi Moira, she's 76 and has a list of medical conditions as long as your arm, I think she's also starting to get confused. Without being harsh, she's a very difficult woman and we don't have the best relationship anyway, but what can I do? I can't abandon her, tempting as it is at times!
The weather's not good here either, I'm trying to motivate myself to do some washing and ironing, then I'm going round to mums later.
I'm DETERMINED to get back on track! I enjoyed my class and felt so much better eating healthily :)
Have a good day x

Right...here we go again!

Sunday 23rd June

Breakfast - fruit bread

Lunch - massive bowl of home made tomato soup

Dinner - chicken tikka pieces, boiled rice and raita

Snacks - muller light, pear, ice cream

Food diary is suspended til further notice! Life is just too stressful at the mo to do without chocolate and wine...
If I ever get 5 minutes to think about shopping, planning meals, let alone having the time to eat a proper one I'll get right back at it.
Be good every one, I hope to join in again very soon x

Hello!
Guess who went to wi? Guess who after an appalling 2 weeks still lost half a pound?
My lovely leader sent me a couple of very supportive texts asking me to try to go, and my friend gave me a severe butt kicking about doing something for myself, rather than running myself ragged for everyone else, so I went! I couldn't believe I had a loss, I expected a serious gain.
I'm also hoping that by eating properly again I might get rid of the awful stomach cramps I've started getting. Don't know if it's stress, bad diet or the results of years of yoyo dieting.
So I'm going to give my books another read and as of today get back at it :)

Well done Mandy. I hope you a nd mother are well xx

Thanks for the welcome back. Mum is doing ok thanks - her biggest risk at the mo is me murdering her! It's really tricky trying to fit in all her appointments, supermarket runs, general chores etc and still manage my job and my own life. I'm going to have to find some help from somewhere soon. It would help if we got on a bit better but that's another story!!

Day one
Not sure what colour...

Breakfast - Sultana bran

Lunch - a hideous pot noodle thing that I found in my desk drawer, can't remember what it was, but it was free!

Dinner - sw spaghetti bolognese

Snack - um wine ;)

I need to eat more and at proper times instead of grabbing a junk lunch when I get a min.

Welcome back. It is proabably bit of everything especilly stress. You have got a lot on your plate with your Mum and everything. I know what that is like to a certain degree but only from helping my D-in-law when her Mum was ill last year. Of course that is a bit different. Mind you we could have murdered her between us. Got through it but it ain`t easy. Try and think positive if you can. Thinking of you. xxxx

Thanks Doreen, it's nice to get a bit of support. I've phoned my brother today and asked for some help, I can't manage everything on my own anymore. He's going to go see Mum this weekend and offer to take on shopping duties, the trouble is my Mum expects everything her way at her time, David rightly says she'll have to be flexible. It'll be an interesting conversation and I'm not expecting a happy outcome, but it's worth a try...

It should work as its for abdominal cramps and bloating etc. Your doctor would most likely prescribe it. How's it going?

Hey Missa, I'm not too bad ta, I think if I get a good nights sleep I'll be fine tomorrow.
How are you doing? X
