Hi Jan
Yes, that is the one I have seen...which I will use if I dont get the interactive one that my hubby's cousin is advocating :) It is a good site but I want one that will help me with the pronunciation, which is the hardest part :)

Make your Husband speak Turkish to you once every day for half an hour - no English allowed Iris, you will soon pick it up. LOL, and look at the fun you could have while practising. Doesnt have to be teh same time every day, it could even be bed times some days ;););)

hahahah - my hubby, Turkish.....me,,,oh no!! I am always telling him off, but he is so lazy. He prefers to talk English. We do say certain words.....like I cant remember the English word for (eh..see,,,need to think)..TURP, this is Turkish for (still thinking,,ah, yes,,RADISH).

We say, to get up KALK..never anything else..always say good night, morning in Turkish, but it is the conversation....I need the conversation.

He was told off by his family/friends this year as they were disappointed I hadnt improved!

In his defence, it is hard as he wants to speak perfect English so wants to talk all the time in English.

He has no patience either, terrible teacher and we would start arguing I think if I didnt pronounce properly anyway,,,so best leave that one if I want to remain married ;-) :)

Anliyorum - I understand.
Anlamiyorum - I dont understand.

Our friend also teaches me slang from where he lives near Konya and its anliyom and anlamiyom, same meaning as above.

Todays Menu - back to front again, nights tonight and tomorrow.

Up at 9am and had 2 cups of tea, then off to the Docs at 10:30 as I have decided to stop smoking after my holidays, now that I have my weight under control.

Came back from the Docs with my prescription for Champix, so I will start those when I return from Turkey. I also got the flu jab while I was up, as I have a few underlying heart problems.

Midday I had a bowl of beef broth, 1 banana, 2 plums.

Will go to bed soon and try to have a few hours sleep for work tonight, but I dont usually sleep any longer than half an hour.

Tea before work will be bacon omelette, tinned tomoatoes and some wholemeal toast.

Might take some weetabix and fruit to work and a jar of cockles.

Trying to use up everything in the house now, as I wont do another shop before going away.

Second last shift tonight - whoooppeeeeeeee.

Well done on deciding about stopping smoking.....will be routing for you!!

Oh, it's a lovely feeling trying to eat everything in the house cause you know you wont be there....oh, lucky, lucky you!!

a jar of cookies ...

Well done on deciding to give up smoking :) You will feel so much better for it. My bf gave up 7 weeks ago and the difference in him is fab :D xxx

Thank you both - its something I have tried and failed to do for many years, but I feel so motivated now since losing my weight. If I can lose weight and keep it off, I can certainly give up the weed.

I will definitely enjoy my last smoking holiday in Turkey and look forward to my future smoke free holidays.

Give up the weed .... Mary!! I hope you just mean tobacco?!!! :rotflmao:

hahaha - Tanya, I was thinking the same thing!!!!!

Come on, pray tell Mary :) It is only the bakky isnt it?

My dad gave up after 30+ years..I was so proud of him, but he did have a triple bypass and a heart attack so he had no option, but it was hard for him...and mum continued to smoke as well....so, I am SURE, with your willpower an determination you will manage it. Not saying it wont be difficult, I think it will, but I have no doubts you will manage it!

a jar of cookies ...

COCKLES YOU NUTTER!!!!!!! NOT COOKIES!!! :D:D That says a lot though doesn't it??!! :p;)

Yes well done on the decision Mary! I gave up in 2000. I was over a stone lighter than I am now and continued to lose weight so there's no need to gain any as most people think. It was a long time after that I started going up again and nothing to do with not smoking!
You can do it kiddo!! :) xxx

Thank you Jan.

The Doctor asked me today where I was getting my motivation from, he was amazed at the amount of weight I had lost.

I felt very good leaving his Surgery today.

I bet you did and so you should! :) xx
