DOING SW FROM HOME???

I'm in for 100% week!

I have gone over syns on wine with my free roast but I won't have any tomorrow so that'll sort that out.

I'd love to mix Sw with a bit of cc, I must read how you ladies do it.

Glad I've found you all! Your a good group for chatting!

X-x

I've done my first week! I stuck to it 100% even the weekend. I weigh myself in the morning, I so nearly gave in and weighed myself todayas I'm dying to know how much I've lost. I'll be gutted if I haven't. Next weekend will be a challenge as I'm camping for the long weekend with friends - lots of beer and naughty stuff guaranteed :beer8:

Ooooooo fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you get on. X

Just download my fitness pal love, and complete a profile which will tell you how many cals you can eat to maintain/lose etc, it also has guidelines for fat/ carbs/cals/salt, so it's really good for keeping tabs on those things separately. As I've been using it to watch my carb intake.

If I have days where I know I'm going way way over syns but not eating anything that bad, like going for out for Japanese food I'll cal count and get back to SW the next day. Or days where I drink I'll cal count rather than SW, as gin and slimline is low cals but high syns. So I know I'm not having anything that had but SW kinda says it is. I found when I blow out I might have 2500 cals in one day but by dropping down to 1300-1500 the rest of the week I lose.

Good luck with weigh in tomorrow!

I should be full of busy packing and sorting but I'm watching celeb bb instead! Hehe! Xx

I made a pea and mint soup for our dinner last night! Cheapest meal I've cooked for a while as we had everything in and used mint from the garden! Just onion, celery, garlic, stock cubes, peas, add mint at end and blitz! Ready in 20mins too! X

That sounds brilliant! The other night we had a shepherds pie made with turkey mince, a sausage casserole sauce mixed veg and smash on top because I was determined to eat from the cupboards! Always makes me feel so virtuous!

Oo I made a turkey bolognaise today, was lush! Beef mince can be a bit dry tasting when it's extra lean, but turkey mince is fab, kinda juicier. Sounds like a nice few days of food! X

Oooh the curry and soup both sound lovely :) Way too hot to contemplate actually eating some myself though!! :p Slightly jealous of the mint too as I'm meant to be making mojitos but have no mint... Might just make some new cocktail with lemons and vodka and... something... :p Going to karaoke tonight! Quite excited, never done it before and it means I get to spend the night with my favourite girls :)

I'm interested to see what my weight is like on my WI tomorrow morning, and whether calorie counting is working for me or I need to get back on SW! xx

I used to love Karaoke! .... The greatest love of all ... Learning to love yourself ... Lol!

I used to do Crazy For You, Live To Tell, Like A Prayer and attempt some Celine Dion, really showing my age now!

Dreading seeing my weight tomorrow.. Weekend has been a disaster! Will be interested to see how you get on and whether the calorie counting has worked. Have you felt more in control counting calories?

How exciting, I am sure the scales will reward you well. Be sure to let us know how you have done. I get very inspired by people who do a 100% week and then have a good loss!

We haven't had turkey mince in a very long time but my Dad spotted them reduced down to 30p a packet in Tesco for 500g bought four and put them straight in the freezer, and gave us two. Bargain!

My 30 Day Shred DVD arrived yesterday. Will be doing it every day from this week. The aim this week is obviously starting at Level 1 and doing exactly as instructed at beginner level hoping that each day I can manage a few minutes more than the day before so that in two weeks I can get through Level One just about.

For what it's worth I think it is good to mix things up so your body is constantly guessing and doesn't adapt to one particular routine. Some days it has to be said, tea and toast for brekkie with marmalade and a sandwich for lunch are what we want and I think we feel better emotionally for not depriving ourselves. Calorie wise without snacking that would work.

A while back I got really fed up with dieting and programmes and rules and having to conform to this that or the other. My maternal grandmother was tiny. She always weighed bang on seven stones. Never went up and never went down. So one week I got her to write down what she ate and I still have it somewhere. I did it for a week on the assumption that she was never fat and never gained weight and was disabled so didn't move around a lot. (Her body rejected a hip replacement three times and in the end they left her without so she walked on muscle with one leg shorter than the other by about six inches and a built up shoe so walked on crutches for over twenty years). Her diet wasn't healthy as such but I followed it to the letter and she did have much smaller portions and her routine was totally regimented so no impulse eating. That week I lost three and a half pounds and when I put the calories into a tracker like my Fitness Pal it was about 1800 calories but I made myself swim every day. I didn't cheat either because it was nice what I was eating! So a lot to be said for calorie counting, can work definitely.

Oh God! Now I have been thinking about my granny, she would be horrified if she saw how big I am now and would have a lot to say about it! Gosh just typing that has given me a real wake up call!

Haha! It's often the way. I think SW is a fab diet as it teaches you basically how to eat well, limiting refined carbs, and fat. But the message to eat as much as you like isn't great. My diet was really good before SW it just needed some tweaking, it's portion control that's my problem. So using SW principles but cal counting what I actually eat works a treat. Xx

Morning girls. I've not been on for a couple of days, I'd love to say it's cos I've been having fun but sadly not. Had an emotional and horrid weekend, won't bore you with details tho :-(

Diet wasn't too bad over the weekend, I cc and had 1400 sat and 850 yesterday. Just no appetite at the mo, hopefully it'll come back. Saw some friends yesterday who were all complimenting me which was lovely.

Hope everyone is ok.

Dear Jenny,

So sorry to hear that you have had a bad weekend. Going over things past often makes us more miserable by opening up the wounds. Over now though I hope. Come on here when you can and we will try our best to distract you!

Glad the diet went well though, every cloud and all that ... Wish I could say the same!

Today I am cc because I feel slightly out of control with free food, which makes me feel slightly insecure.

It is lovely to receive compliments on weight loss and recognition of all your hard work. Gives you a real boost and spurs you on.

Here is wishing you a much improved day today.

Anne

How lovely to have a day out! Shame about the rain.

Enjoy your Dads birthday it will only happen once so forget syns!

Treat housework as an opportunity to burn calories. That's what I do!

Have a good Monday.

So guys I would like to share with you a little secret. I am going to quit my job. Not right now but at the end of September is when I plan to put in my notice. In the meantime I suffer each shift. I qualified as a teacher and did that for a few years but kids behaviour in secondary comps steadily got worse and decided to leave and just do a regular non professional job and give myself a break. It hasn't worked. For a multitude of reasons but more importantly they have changed our rotas so I work until past eight o'clock most nights and never see my little girl. So hubby is going back to work full time having gone self employed to look after DD and do the school run but I have had enough. I feel I want to eat my way through each shift!

Anyway, I did the SHRED this morning for the first proper time. I started off with full jumping jacks but then did half jacks. Gave up at the point where the lunges with weights started. How did I do Charl?

HAHA i intent to, always have my music up so i can dance while i work even though i would never dare share my dancing with anyone else a bit bad at it!!
xx

Sounds fun! I am a bit dense though most of the time. Never thought to put music on, I always suffer in silent misery trying to convince myself each task is making me slimmer!
