Down with Spanx!

Ha! No Sian, sorry to cause panic! - I still WI on Fridays, but can't get to group tomorrow, so went today. Just realised that means I lost 2.5lbs in 6 days - even better!

Good luck for WI tomorrow xx

That's even more fantastic hun! :D

I have no illusions that weigh in tomorrow is going to be bad, but it's my fresh start with a positive new outlook (and a conscious effort to drink less/stop letting bad days turn into a bad week!)

The future's bright! :D xxx

Yay! That's not so bad at all - you'll soon have it back off again! Make the most of that motivation and have a fab week!

Enjoying seeing a strange yellow ball up in the sky this weekend and getting lots of body magic in! 2 miles walked with dogs this morning and 1 mile yesterday. :)

Trying to have a really good week until I go off on my hols on Wednesday - my aim is to go to my next WI after my hols and have maintained...wish me luck!

Thanks Sian!

I've managed to have a good week so far, so I'm hoping that I'll have lost a bit before I go off on hols tomorrow! Will WI in the morning, but seeing as I'm leaving home at 6.30am, I doubt I'll be lucid enough to log on and post here!

Why is it though that our minds go into 'holiday mode' so easily? Stopped off at the supermarket to grab some potatoes for lunch and was almost tempted to raid the fruited teacakes, naan breads and croissants on the reduced bread display!!! I just kept thinking, 'oh well, I'm on holiday now...'

You will be pleased to hear, however, that I stayed strong and had a baked potato with beans and a HEA of cheese for my lunch - phew!

Can't wait to jet off to the sunshine tomorrow - see you next week! x

I'm back!

Had a lovely holiday, but clearly enjoyed myself far too much as when I went to WI last Friday, I'd put on 3.5lbs! Oops! I knew I'd overdone it, but I didn't expect that! But, as I said at SW group, I enjoyed every ounce of it! So, I've committed to getting it back off by next WI. Found it quite hard to get back on track though this week - my head still seems to be in holiday mode, plus I've been having some stress with my grandad, who has Alzheimers, so it's not been a great week...

I went to an all you can eat buffet on Saturday night, for a birthday party and ate far too many syns. Started off OK, but people kept saying 'oh, you really must try this and oh, go on, you can't diet at a party!' and my willpower crumbled. At least I was driving, so I didn't indulge in any wine!

Been pretty good since then, but find I've been tempted more than usual. I signed up for a 12 week countdown again and have set myself the target of losing a stone in those 12 weeks. Given my weight has been coming off slowly, that seems sensible, but doable!

Hope everyone is well and having a good week xxx

Hey hun, great to see you back,
dont worry about the little souvenir gain that you brought back from your holiday......I do it every time lol :p I usually say 'well I paid for it so I'm flipping well going to enjoy it!!' I gained 13.5 lb on my last 3 wk all inclusive to Mexico!:eek: The good thing is that you have come back and got straight back on plan and that gain will soon disappear lovely lady

Sorry to here about your Grandad - Alzheimers is such a cruel illness:sigh: sending hugs your way xx

Thanks Dizzy! I had a sneaky peek on the scales this morning and I'm hopefully on track to lose at least 3lbs of it this week, so that will remotivate me. I think I'd be in the same boat if I went on an all-inclusive holiday - I couldn't even control myself for one night at the buffet on saturday!

We've managed to get Grandad into a home for some respite care while we figure out what to do - off to see a social worker with my Mum this morning about our options. He hates being in the home, but I don't think we've got any choice - he keeps packing an overnight bag and wandering off, saying he wants to get home, only the home he means is the one he lived in 80 years ago. He's also been aggressive to the carers in the warden-controlled flats he lives in at the moment, and they've said they don't think they can look after him for much longer. It's so hard on him, and my Mum, and the worst thing is that I know how much he'd hate it if he knew how he was being. :(

Really great news about the fantastic forecast weightloss ;) keeping it all crossed for you hun x

The awful thing with Alzheimers is the way it affects the family of the sufferer :( we had a really close family friend of MIL who went the same way.....and it was heart wrenching to watch. That lady bless her had no clue as to what was happening - or even that she had gone into a home (when it eventually happened) it was her family and friends who were affected most by watching her change. ITS VERY VERY HARD, but if your grandad is starting to wander off....then its definately safer (and less worrying for you) if he is receiving specialist round the clock care. xx

All in all a great end to what has been a pretty fraught week - I lost 4.5lbs at WI this morning and my Grandad has settled better than we expected in his new care home! Big smiles all round! :D

Now to keep it up for next week...! x

Made the Sri Lankan Beef Curry from the Taste of Asia book last night, with a few tweaks - used chicken instead of beef, added mushrooms for some more SF and didn't add Fromage Frais as I've never successfully added yoghurt/FF to a SW curry without it curdling. It was absolutely delicious!

That A Taste of Asia book is well worth a fiver if you like Asian food - it's full of curries, stir fries, ramens etc. I think we've done 5 recipes out of there now and they were all fabulous.
