Consolidation Dukandebut's Trying to Stay the Same Diary

Almost forgot the reason why I popped in. Since I shall be out much of tomorrow, here's my menu in advance.

PV with Gala Meal 1:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, medium glass of apple juice
L Scrambled eggs with cheese and chives on toast, followed by yoghurt
D Sausage, sweet pepper and lentil casserole with mixed root veg mash, followed by homemade dark choc brownie

Anja - what recipe will you be using for your cake? (If I lived nearer, I'd buy it from you as I'm sure it will be delicious and the Japanese earthquake appeal is such a good cause).

Oh not so exciting this time:

Banana cake (wholemeal flour and with raisins)
Possibly: Cardamom Cake and Marble Cake.

Now, these are all from my tried and tested collection of paper recipes so no easy links I'm afraid.

If you do wish to give to the Japan appeal you could do it for Save the Children as that's where my friend is raising her funds:
Rosa Wunner is fundraising for GlobalGiving

Save the children:
Save the Children: Japan Earthquake Tsunami Relief - JustGiving

PS: yummy menu! I just discovered parsnip mash (stir in some FromFrais) - yum yum I had forgotten all about it even though (or maybe BECAUSE) I weaned my kids with it!!

Those cakes sound perfectly exciting to me, Anja! :) I've never tried cardamon cake before either.

As for the root veg mash, I use a potato, a sweet potato and a parsnip in mine, mashed with fromage frais. I used to do this with natural organic yoghurt, but the fromage frais does make a very good substitute. Gives a lovely, creamy texture and taste.

Thanks so much for the links. I'm also considering making a donation for the animals affected in Japan. I know that many Japanese people are desperately worried about their pets, as I would be, too. The scenes of devastation over there defy belief. I've also been terribly moved by how calm and resigned a lot of those who've suffered so much appear to be. I just hope that no more die and that food, water and fuel can be transported soon to the ones most at risk. Absolutely terrible.

I baked some goji muffins last night, adjusting the recipe slightly, and they were really good! Will definitely make them again in future.

Today is PV with Carb 1:-

B Yoghurt, goji muffin, medium glass of apple juice
L Ham and tomato sandwich, goji muffin, yoghurt
D Pasta Neapolitan with Parmesan, followed by goji muffin

I've had to do a quick change of plan due to husband's work, so will be having Carb meal 2 today instead of tomorrow.

I'm really hoping that I can stabilise on Conso II as it's fantastic and I'm enjoying it a lot.

So today is a PV with Carb meal 2:

B Yoghurt with goji cinammon muffin and medium glass of apple juice
L Cheese and spring onion toastie with goji cinammon muffin
D Pork and leek stirfry (will be adding a tsp of sesame seeds to this, which is very naughty) with brown rice, followed by goji cinnamon muffin
S Goji cinnamon muffin

if anyone could afford a tsp of sesame seeds dd it would definitely be you!

hope you enjoy! :)

Oh no! I've just realised that I accidentally added 1 tblsp instead of 1 tsp of sesame seeds! Although that was shared between two of us, so I'm hoping it should still be fine.

Em, it certainly was delicious. I love seeds and have missed them a lot.

You are so far under your goal I wouldn't feel any guilt at all over those seeds!

Actually, that's sort of the problem. Because I know I'm quite a bit under my target weight, there's a great temptation to just stuff my face with things I enjoy that aren't at all Dukan-friendly. So I'm trying to control myself and not go on a huge chocolate (or even seed) binge!

Talking of eating lovely, non-Dukan-friendly things, today is my 2nd gala meal of the week - hurray! And I enjoyed the last week's so much that I'm going to repeat it.

PV with Gala 2:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, medium glass of apple juice
L Cheese, spring onion and mushroom omelette with bread, followed by yoghurt
D Butternut squash soup with garlic bread, followed by a new little Thorntons Chocolate Secret Centre dessert I spotted at the supermarket

Brownie and Em - That's because you haven't seen the size of the bowl! Or the amount of garlic bread which I shall be "reluctantly" forced to eat on my own since hubby's eating elsewhere tonight. (Eating half a baguette of garlic bread is a hard job but someone has to do it, I suppose. ;-) )

Am I the only one who finds soup incredibly filling? In fact, I try and avoid it as a starter when we're eating out because it means that I sometimes can't face eating a pud after my main then (and I do love my puds).

I've rarely if ever found DD's gala menus meritworthy of a good feast! Far too restrained! Hence her weight loss!

Jealous? me?

Even the sausage casserole with mash, followed by chocolate brownie?

Seriously, when I added up the calories and stuff for that particular day on myfitnesspal, I almost imploded with shock. It was well over 2000 cals. But it tasted so damn good. :D

Maybe I missed that particular one, DD, but I'd have been looking for the aperitif, starter and wine which was missing! :D :D

:D
If I had someone else to cook for me, then you'd definitely see the aperitif and starter! But no wine, I'm afraid. I'm not a refined person and would rather gulp down some homely cider instead.

(I'm picturing you wearing a tiara and long gown as you sit at your dining table, illuminated by a magnificent candelabra. ;) )
