Consolidation Dukandebut's Trying to Stay the Same Diary

Gosh - you have two bathrooms. How posh are you?

I hear you re the stress of mess though, and because our bathroom is downstairs (ugh), it was necessarily walked throughout... so I played Miss Mop around his feet as he moved!

I note that several of us have OCD tendencies around here (thinking 3/7 of a piece of veg!), and wonder if there's any connection re food issues and OCD!

OOh renovations...

Mr DIY lives here too, unfortunately he always has 2 projects on the go at once. Currently decorating 2 bedrooms (at the same time - because 'it's easier while everything's out', apparently). As it's Spring now, I am sure something involving cement will be happening shortly...cue panic that he'll cut/break some body part again (he manages it every year:rolleyes:).

Nice bathrooms, both! Ours is plain white (with a blue border) ie boring;). Nice to see you tiled up to the ceiling, Jo. We were told we were weird for doing that, so we can be weird together!

We must be very posh indeed as we have a downstairs loo as well. :p Mind you, only visitors are allowed to use that and the main bathroom, so we have to cross our legs if one of us is on our ensuite loo - this is to save on cleaning, which I hate.

As for the OCD, yes! Although mine is a very weird version. Whilst I probably wash my hands a little more than normal people, my OCD tends to be centred around numbers. Thankfully, it's mostly under control now, but it used to be so frustrating when I had to touch things an exact number of times or it felt as though the world would end.

I used to think that I must be a complete loony as this was years before OCD became widely known and I'd never heard of it. So it's quite a relief to know that other people have similar quirks. :) I love you all with your accurate fraction fetishes! :D

Anyway, it would be great if I could tell people that I absolutely must have chocolate due to my mental problems. ;-)

I agree with your husband. Much easier and better to get it all done together, if poss. I do hope that he doesn't end up in DIY peril this time, though.

oooh Robin, my sister's husband always has several jobs on the go at one time, and rarely does one seem to get finished. Even I nagged him at Christmas, because he'd had pros in to do the plumbing of the bathroom but hadn't finished the rest, because he'd changed the door and not put a lock on the new door. Sitting on the throne, after Christmas lunch, some five metres from the door, I heard someone coming up the stairs and shrieked "I'M IN HERE!!". (T'would have been horrid to be caught in my posh frock with my "Bridget Jones's hold it all in nix" round my ankles!!!)

Robin - the tiling up to the ceiling is for a reason. In the city, we only tiled half way up, and gradually added another row as the damp got to the paint(!)... and another, and then finally up to the ceiling.

I don't do numbers... or hand washing... or checking... I think the only thing I am very manic about is food and everything related to my diet and weight (planning food, freezer, fridge organisation, menus, diary sorting around diet/meals etc. And if my food intake is taken out of my own hands, it stresses me. ugh!

I think I forgot to post my menu yesterday, what with all of the the bathroom talk! :)

Yesterday - PP with Gala 1:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, medium glass apple juice
L Ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D (Gala 1) Leek & celery soup with soy sauce and caraway seeds (delicious!), cheesey garlic bread, followed by Thorntons Chocolate Secret Centre dessert

Today is PV with Carb meal 2:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, medium glass of apple juice
L Leek and celery soup, ham and tomato sandwich, followed by yoghurt
D (Carb 2) Red pepper beef with wholemeal pasta and Parmesan cheese, followed by crème au chocolat

Damn, I overcooked my goji cinnamon muffins. They were absolutely delicious last time, but aren't terribly nice and a bit rubbery today. Wish I hadn't made a double batch for next week now.

PP Day:

B Yoghurt and rubbery goji cinnamon muffin
L Turkey rashers, chive cottage cheese, rubbery goji cinnamon muffin, yoghurt
D Oriental rosemary meatball, rubbery goji cinnamon muffin
S Rubbery goji cinnamon muffin

FOr a minute I read that as raspberry goji muffins and I had momentary muffin envy again - and then saw 'rubbery'

my other half messed up our smoked fish muffins this week too so, for two days, we've had little tiny ones... a bit soggy too... but I daren't put in a complaint else he tells me to make my own!

How about using them as "trifle sponges" in an egg custard?

<oh no, why did I have that brainwave?>

<frantically thinking of a dukan friendly "hundreds and thousands" replacement!!> finely shredded tomato and lettuce?

Don't us Dukanians exercise our imaginations!

Yeah but you know that some people would exaggerate and have too much! (I'll never again recommend a tolerated item!!)

Ooh yes! Best scrap the choccie bits!! My 'crepe' really was fine without the powdered stuff! If it gives a bit of texture, I expect a spoonful of cinammon would have the same affect.

No. Sadly, rubbery is not nearly half as nice as raspberry. Must remember to keep a more careful eye on them whilst they're in the oven next time. Honestly, I could play tennis with this batch, they're so rubbery.

And they thought my strawberry jam and butter on sausage rolls was odd.:D

BTW, you lot, please no mention of the "c" word on here whilst I'm on my PP day. You'll have me reaching for the forbidden bar of Lindt that's skulking in the cupboard. (Damn, I wish I hadn't remembered it was there.):cry::cry::cry:

think you mean HADN'T... ;)

pop it into a freezer bag and seal it...

Hehe, yes. I just spotted that and edited before I read your post. :D

Today is a normal PV day. I'll be away in London again for the weekend so will be eating at least one of this week's gala meals there - which is ideal as I shall be treating a friend to dinner who's had a particularly rotten time lately, and I don't want to skimp or be restrictive on where and what we can eat.

B Yoghurt with medium glass of apple juice
L Leek and celery soup with ham and tomato sandwich, followed by yoghurt
D Galette, homemade burger, homemade ketchup, grilled onions, cheese, gherkin, followed by crème au chocolat

Oh dear. On two counts.

Firstly, I discovered that I've lost yet another pound during Saturday morning's weigh in.

Secondly, I went a little overboard during my weekend in London - using the unwanted further loss as an excuse, which is definitely not a good idea. I really don't want to get into the habit of doing this.

Here's how I did the damage:

Saturday - 2 gala meals in one day!
B Yoghurt with oatbran, medium glass of apple juice
L (Gala 1) Homemade burger in bun with bacon, cheese and onion chutney, with homemade coleslaw and chips, followed by moist flourless chocolate cake
D (Gala 2) Pork pie, beetroot salad, potato and dill salad, one small pierogi, followed by half a slice of chocolate cake and half a slice of pecan toffee cheesecake

Sunday
B Yoghurt with oatbran
L (Naughty carb 1 - chips are not recommended for carb meal) Cheese, mushroom and onion omelette with chips
D Ham salad sandwich, followed by crème au chocolat

Today is a PV day:
B Yoghurt with oatbran, medium glass apple juice
L Ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D Vickky's cheeseburger pie with salad, crème au chocolat

Thankfully, I'm getting back to behaving myself, food-wise anyway.

Today is a PV with Carb meal 2:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, medium glass apple juice
L Cheese, spring onion and mushroom omelette with bread, yoghurt
D Pork mince stir-fry with wholemeal noodles, followed by crème au chocolat
