Consolidation Dukandebut's Trying to Stay the Same Diary

I'm the kind of weirdo who doesn't like jelly particularly, unfortunately. I've shocked you all now and will go and hang my head in shame. ;-)

Our butcher kindly marks the different weights on the bags of mince I buy, but the pen rubs off horribly all over the place.

Best pen I've found are Sharpies - but you must wait for the ink to dry properly before putting away or it would be a complete nightmare to remove.

Lakeland Plastics has all that kind of thing - and they have a lovely shop on the outskirts of Bournemouth.

Seconded! They come in two sizes, I have a roll of them and cut them into smaller pieces (started doing that when I was making & freezing tiny portions babyfood). They work very well and even the tiny ones (stamp-sized) don't come off 'unasked' unless you stick them onto damp / sweating containers (for example that have already been in the fridge unlabelled and are going to the freezer now with labels added)

Excellent... I remain intrigued as to when and why such day to day items became such specialised item, though. I'm sure "in my day" one could buy them with the freezer bags they were intended to label. That would be too easy though, I guess ;)
<roll eyes>

Happy Burger Day! One of my faves. :)

PV
B Yoghurt with apple juice
L Roast butternut squash soup, sandwich made with meatloaf and bread, followed by yoghurt
D Galette, homemade burger, homemade ketchup, grilled onions, cheese, gherkin, followed by crème au chocolat

I need some soup recipe ideas for next week pp and pv if you can think of anything hun xxx
happy burgerday
im looking forward to celeriac ...never thought i would hear myself say that

Ooh chip it, Tan, mash it, crisp it!! Hope you love it. don't be put off by the smell:D

I've got celeriac on my market list too! They smell? worse than konjac noodles when you open the pack? That I doubt!

Scrumps - I'm making beetroot soup early tomorrow morning... I've three stray cooked ones in my freezer which need eating! This time no red wine vinegar though, just sticking to onion, chicken stock and lots of herbs... my favourite PP soup is just chicken... carcass etc. Love it! I tried a seafood one but it was a bit watery with "bits" floating around, cos I didn't want to whizz them up!

They smell a bit like a cross between celery and potatoes but don't really smell when cooked. Ask Vicky what she calls it :D

My celeriac and chicken bake was good today - a bit of a dauphinoise type affair with bits of chicken in it!

Scrumps - I almost went into a sulk and refused to let you have my soup recipes when I saw your evil avatar. (I'd had a perfectly good Dead Kennedy's song in my had until seeing that image of the ride-which-shall-not-be-named.)

But I'm in a good mood so I will forgive you. ;-)

I'm afraid I can't help with any PP soups, but here are a couple of delicous and easy PV ones that I've already posted:-

Vegetable Broth: http://www.minimins.com/dukan-recipes/200259-vegetable-broth.html

Courgette & Mint Soup: http://www.minimins.com/dukan-recipes/198928-courgette-mint-soup.html

I've also added my latest soup trial to the Recipes section for you - Roasted Butternut Squash Soup: http://www.minimins.com/dukan-recipes/204674-roasted-butternut-squash-soup.html#post3470183

There are other PV soups in my shiny new WW Soup book, but I haven't tried them yet and will add them to the Recipe thread if they're Dukan-friendly and taste good. One recipe I tried from the book was horrid!

Hope that helps! :)

I missed Scrumps' avatar! LOVELY!

Nite all! Bon weekend!
x

There's definitely a strong smell of celery when you're peeling and chopping but not even a hint when its cooked

Aw, aren't you a thoughtful sweetheart! (No, you're actually very evil. ;) )

Hope the soup works for you. I find that it keeps my hunger pangs at bay for hours. I'm so grateful to Em for alerting us to the filling yourself up with soup technique.

Whilst I'd love to take the credit I don't think it was me that said that. I remember it was mentioned on that dieting program that was in a few months ago but it was someone else that linked to that...

yep that bloke with all the diet ideas ....will give it ago see if it works ....will miss dunking half a loaf of bread in the soup though ...and no doubt if i make soup we will have a heatwave for weeks !!

Well done to that bloke, the one with the diet ideas! ;-)

I've put on a pound, according to this morning's weigh-in, which is absolutely fine as I'm still quite a bit under target. Much better than losing yet more weight!

Today is PV with Gala 1:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Meatloaf sandwich, roasted pumpkin soup, yoghurt
D Sausages with root veg mash and onion gravy, followed by chocolate and caramel tart.

Last night's gala was delicious - although the Thorntons chocolate tart wasn't a patch on my lovely homemade choccy stuff.

Starting to get nervous now about the bathroom re-fit beginning tomorrow. We spent hours yesterday, and will again today, getting everything ready and moving things out of the ensuite and our bedroom. Still, I'm sure Dr D would approve of the exercise.

Today is PV with carb meal 1:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Cheese, spring onion and mushroom omelette, bread, yoghurt
D (Carb 1) Chicken casserole (containing Puy lentils) with green beans and 2 new potatoes, followed by crème au chocolat

I messed up my menu yesterday as I forgot that my dinner was a carb one, so I've now edited that.

The lads have just started work on our new ensuite. Lots of industrious banging noises ensuing. They were thrilled with the little tea and coffee making area, complete with chairs that I'd provided for them, bless them. :)

Have had to change around my menus a bit this week, with all of the carb and gala meals crowded together, due to evenings out, etc.

Today is PV with carb meal 2:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D Roasted pepper beef wholemeal pasta with Parmesan, followed by crème au chocolat

Ref soup - some say not to have it in the evening though if you suffer from water retention. I tend to have it as a mid-afternoon "snack", rather, needing FOOD for dinner, so not something I've tried and tested!

Your menus sound LOVELY :D
