Consolidation Dukandebut's Trying to Stay the Same Diary

Sorry you've lost again, DD, but I think little old me gets the prize for the most overboard this weekend;). I'm sure you'll be fine!

I don't know whether to congratulate you or commiserate with you DD... (losing weight and being able to let go even further over the weekend sounds like heaven to me, but you sound worried.)

One thing you eat a lot of, which I don't see much of around here in other people's menus, is soup...

In the name of science, I ought to henceforth eat soup myself for breakfast, lunch and dinner to test my theory... soup is making DD thinner cos it fills her up!

I am surprised, I must say, to see "soup" in a gala meal... cos surely it's filling in itself and then you don't eat a "proper" main course? so, if you really don't want to lose any more, soupy food for thought?

I dunno! I'm green with envy!

I'm only worried because I really don't want to get into the habit of going on a mad food-bingeing session because of my continued weight loss. That's definitely the wrong way to go about it and could lead right back to my naughty old habits.

I never used to be all that bothered about soup until I started trying some of these recipes. All but one has proven to be absolutely delicious so far. And I can definitely recommend them to you if you want to feel full, keeping those hunger pangs at bay.

Don't worry, the cheesey garlic pizza I eat (not to mention the chocolate dessert) is certainly calorific enough to qualify for the title of "gala". (Drooling just thinking about them). Also, it means that I have about another 2 bowlfuls left over to have with a sandwich as lunch on subsequent days.

In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that I enjoy my soupy lunch leftovers so much, I would make naughtier versions of soup for the gala meal (with pasta, rice, cheese, potatoes, etc).

However, if things keep on the way they are, I may be forced to eat several buckets of lard for each gala meal.:D

I always eat homemade soup at the weekend as a late afternoon snack, while the OH eats "other things" let's say! ;) Apart from anything else, I needed to rid my freezer of some little packages!

Got a bit of a shock yesterday as the bathroom fitter will now very probably starting work next week. Hadn't expected that to happen until late May. Eeek! (Ah well, I suppose it means we should get it over with sooner than expected.)

Today is a minor gala meal day. I say "minor" because I effectively had 2 gala meals in a single day on Saturday - naughty, naughty. Since I have soup planned and don't have much else in to supplement it before our next weekly shop, we'll be having the soup, cheese garlic pizza and no pud.

PV with half-hearted gala meal:
B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D (semi-gala) Roasted butternut squash soup with cheese garlic pizza, followed by crème au chocolat

<dribble>

mouse stop it your making a mess dd wont be happy having to get a mop out

*sighs as she mops away all of Mousie's dribbings* ;-)

Well, there shouldn't be any dribbling over today's menu as it's a boring old PP one!

B Yoghurt and goji cinnamon muffin (still the rubbery ones which I overcooked and froze last week - can't wait to make nice fresh ones)
L Turkey rashers, chive cottage cheese, yoghurt, goji cinnamon muffin
D Meatloaf, fromage frais (probably flavoured with some chives), goji cinnamon muffin
S Goji cinnamon muffin

It's funny how these little packages we freeze can be such a lifesaver, yet such a drag when it's something we didn't like much at the outset. I'm having the same problem ridding myself of each and every turkey meatloaf package - I cede defeat. I do not like things made with turkey mince!

I've been having a small slice of yoghurt cake with a portion of sugar free jelly for a change... very nice too :D

yogurt cake is on my list for the weekend ...yummy cant wait

These packages are not too bad if you have labelled them properly and you know what they are!!

I now label everything... some labels fall off though!! "Freezer labels" are not the easiest things to track down. Tell me where you buy yours? they're always on my UK shopping list, but if I find them, I have to use them sparingly!!

Turkey meatloaf is still horrid to me - however I label it! Oh yippee I have some for lunch!

Yes.. I have traces in the inside of my freezer (and probably still on my hand) from when I used to do that! Funny how that ink stays really well on the white of the freezer, but rubs off on the bag! (or is that just me and my pens!)

Bought them in Staples. Were perhaps cheapoes!

Lakeland Plastics has all that kind of thing - and they have a lovely shop on the outskirts of Bournemouth.
