Elkays resurrected food diary

I have that trouble too Lesley in the end I look like I have a giant puffball
on me head and the guys at work call me Frizzy lol
No one understands when your hair just grows out like a bush haha!!
hope your having a nice day Hun X

You've described mine down to a tee! I blame my son, 20 years ago I had manageable hair :D. Does yours go frizzy when the weather is damp? Mine can look reasonable then I walk from my house to the car (about 12 steps) in the damp atmosphere and it has already started 'expanding'! I hate it! That's why I insist on keeping it short.

Hope you have 'neighbour-free' Friday!

Burst out laughing at a old blind dog clipper type person. :8855:

I wouldn't have a clue where to start with sheering a pooch to be honest, can't you just grade them? God, I'm really helpful in I? :giggle:

Have a great Friday L. xxx

Well, I have decided that I am going to go for it and go get some doggie clippers at the weekend (Mind you, I do OH, my son and dads hair but don't think they would like it if I used the same clippers on the dog! There again........ would they Know if I didn't tell them?:D) Have based my decision to give it a try on the basis that if I mess it up, my dog wont know 'cause he can't see it ;).

Went swimming tonight straight from work and always leave my glasses on the top of the wall heater. Went to jump in the pool, in as ladylike a fashion as I could manage, but didn't notice the asthma inhaler which a swimmer had left on the side of the pool - I kicked it with some force straight into the water . Fortunately, the rather nice bloke who it belonged to found my 'flusteredness' amusing as I tried to retrieve it and shake the water out. My friend was in bits laughing! Although the bloke assured me it was OK, I felt duty bound to keep my eye on him in case he had an asthma attack and his inhaler didn't work ;). Mrs Bean strikes again!

Sleep well and you have a great Friday too Nik.

Hi Kals, (big hug in return) I know, it's a pain in the bum isn't it - I was hoping to lose 1 little tiny lb this week!:sigh: But, i'm not feeling sorry for myself, it will happen ;). It could have been worse, I could have gained . I lost loads with WW after having my son but it seems harder now than then - they do say it gets harder as you get older don't they. I remember hitting a wall then for a good few weeks but it was after I'd lost a stone or so, not just 6 ruddy lbs!!

I'm not really sure which way to go to be honest, whether to do as you suggest and vary the amount of points each day but keep within my permitted number of points for the week, or whether to look more closely at what I am actually eating. Both make sense but I don't want to do both at the same time because if it works, I wont know which made the difference - does this make sense?

I've been thinking about this today because this has made me more determined - it's not going to beat me :D. I know when I tried SW, I could only really do green days, which meant loads of carbs, which I love, but I didn't lose much at all! I'm not a big meat/fish eater and I'm thinking this may be where my problem is again, maybe although I'm staying within my points, I'm eating too big a proportion of them in carbs. What do you think?

I shall think about it a bit more during the England match and if I'm not any clearer shall be calling on yours and Niks left boot - you did promise :D.

Thanks for visiting Kals and for your support - it is appreciated.

Have a lovely evening, or are you at work (if so hope it goes quick)!

Alroight Leslayy (sorry, have been talking to a friend who lives in Colly Gate so have suddenly got the accent back :p)

I want to say brilliant for a STS, butttttt, I know you don't think it's that brill considering you have been having that for a wee while now.

I was going to suggest the Wendi Plan too, a few people have said that although sticking to pointage, the shake up or the shock to the system has worked. Or there is cutting 4 back per day, that's another good shock. Again, as like the doggy hair cutting, I'm no help again...

Do you eat much bread? I found that when I cut bread out for a week, I lost an amazing amount, I'm sure it was a 4lb loss if I remember right, and when I have had a couple of weeks at 1lb losses, I have cut down on bread, once every two days, no more than 2 slices, and that has boosted me too. I too love carbs more than I like breathing in fresh air, and as filling as they are, they are a right pain.

I also want to say, and this is truthful, I swear to you I am not lying... You really do look amazing the way you are, if I had just seen you walking towards me in the street, I would never have guessed you were on, or needed to be, on a weightloss plan at all, so please don't beat yourself up about it... But I do understand how you feel about losing a few more poundagies, it's for your own need.

Good luck for how you approach the next week foodwise and hope you get a great result... Until then, have a great weekend. xxx

Ar I'm alroight Nik ta, am you? (I'm better at speaking it than writing it!)

You are too kind! I certainly feel anything but 'amazing' but I do appreciate the compliment, thank you. I feel so ruddy unhealthy and at 10st 7lb I felt healthy, my clothes fitted me properly and I was in proportion whereas now I feel unhealthy and my clothes don't fit properly because I'm completely out of proportion! That's my motivation to keep at this. I am a little disappointed at another STS but like I said to Kals it could have been worse, I could have gained !

I really think the advice you and Kals have given me is well worth trying. I do indeed eat bread and I have carbs at most meals - a typical weekday for me would be breakfast -
porridge, snack - velvet crunch, lunch - ww soup, salad, ww bagel & cheese triangle, dinner - something with veg/salad and either pasta, rice, potatoes or noodles - that's quite a lot of carbs isn't it?

I shall sleep on it and decide how I'm going to change things in the morning. As long I feel I am doing something positive towards it and not just plodding on then I wi
ll be happy :).

Off for some inspirational
:zz:

Have a great weekend Nik, well done with your none smoking, you're doing great.

Thanks for your help/advice.

Alroight ower Leslay, 'ow's it gooing wench? (yeah, def con spake it berrer than ar con wroight it cor ya)

Like I said, I am probably as big of a carb queen as you are by all accounts, so why don't you start at one thing like I did, this week cut down on just the bread to every two days, if still no joy, try for the whole week, and slowly slowly cut out things until you find a balance.

I do urge NOT to cut out the Velvets though, I mean, that would just be totally stupid :D

Hope the weekend is great so far. xxx

Nik - I've decided I'm going to give this a try and do my best not to have bread/bagels this week and see if it makes a difference. If not, I shall try varying the points each day as Kals suggested. I now have a plan so it's all good.:D The very idea of me giving up the Velvet Crunch  - no chance!

Have eaten nothing yet today - awake all night with the worst stomach pains I've ever experienced, dozed on and off all day in between slightly less painful stomach pains so have done nothing that I needed to do and am well behind on my massive pile of ironing (which I still can't face doing) - but at least I haven't missed not having bread today!

Hope you're having a good Sunday and that next week is a good one for you.

Haha!! @ Not giving up the velvet crunch

I've been doing a bit of an experiment the last few
days Lesley with regard the Carbs and Ive come to the
conclusion that they are responsable for causing the bloat
plus slowing down weight loss
went off in search of the reason
and basically the first thing your body burns for fuel is carb
if you don't give your body enough carbs then it goes into your
body fat reserve to burn that off instead
So would certainly have a go at going up and down
on the daily points but if that fails
try a week without the major carb groups ie bread, tatties, rice, pasta
velvet crunch haha!!

Thank you for this information Kals, it's very interesting and would explain why I lost next to nothing on SW (always doing green days) and can't seem to shift much now on WW (although it's worked for me before) - i'm relying on carbs far too much! I feel so much more positive now I have a plan to make some changes, so again, thank you for the advice.

I like the little joke about cutting out the Velvet Crunch too, but might just have to forget I read that bit :D

You seem very focussed and I hope you have a great loss this week.:)

Have a good week.
