Elkays resurrected food diary

Don't you just love those days? No? Well it made me chuckle anyway... Next time you delete, just try pressing ctrl + Z it normally brings it back - Voice of experience :D

Hope you get a good sleep. xxx

Jeez Nik I've made the simplest of things seem like hard work today! Then, to top it off, my car is very ill - i lost power yesterday on my way to work, managed to crawl into car park at work and called the AA out who told me it was coil pack. They wanted to tow me to AA garage - no way ££££ in front of my eyes! I have a very good mobile mechanic who looks after my car and doesn't rip me off. Phoned him - he was on holiday :( fortunately though, he was due back :). He came out today with a new coil pack only to find it wasn't that, it was some pipes completely clogged and so he has taken them home to soak in petrol for a couple of days to try and unblock them! So now my car is stuck on the car par at work until Monday it looks like. Turning into 'one of those weeks' I think! Mind you, it could be worse, I could have a holiday booked and have a husband who has no visa  - still:fingerscrossed: for you on that one Nik - I really hope he gets one in time to go, you deserve a lovely, relaxing holiday.

Thanks for the tip - will be useful I'm sure.

Have a lovely Thursday.

Lesley

Hope the petrol soaking works... I wouldn't fancy leaving my car at the Five Ways all weekend... Is it still as rough as it used to be? Mind you, I've always said, anywhere outside of Halesowen is rough :p

Have a great weekend. xxx

Hi Nik - Our car park at work is under ground level and has 24hr security surveillance so should be ok :fingerscrossed: but I know what you mean, I would have to camp in it if it was anywhere else!

Hope that weight loss fairy is on her way up here for tomorrow morning!

Good luck for your WI and have a great Friday.

Oops, perhaps the fairy was at another house?

You must be getting really peeved now Lesley, I can well imagine. Isn't this like the 5th week now? I honestlt don't know what to say.

Chin up darlin :D xxx

Hi Nik - firstly, well done on your loss this week you are doing so well, especially with having given up smoking too - you really are amazing you know.:D

Right, now on to me, yes this is indeed my 5th week STS and yes, i am a little peeved to say the least - so much so that I have just sat and dipped 2 digestive bisbuits into my coffee! I was having a 'what the hell' moment! I really don't know what direction to take now. I don't want to just give up and accept that I wont lose any but I am getting seriously diheartened with it all. If I don't follow something I will just gain the measily 6lbs I have lost so don't want to do that either. Hmm will have to have a think and try not to eat too much while I'm deciding what to do!

Have a lovely day Nik.

How about joining a class and speaking to one of the leaders as they might have some explanation or suggestion of what to do?? x

I know, I know Kals I feel like:banghead: at the moment. I have to admit, having read about the Harcombe Diet in your diary, I downloaded the book and have spent most of the evening reading it. I think it was well worth the £9odd for the recipes alone. I'm seriously considering giving it a go - I desperately need something to kick start my system and WW just isn't doing it for me at the moment, I wish I knew why! I think it will involve a lot more planning for me, which I'm not too good at but, it might be worth it.

Have a good weekend Kals, hope the journey on Saturday is uneventful! Thank you for your support, I do appreciate it.

Hi ya Julie - that's not a bad idea but I have been to classes before so I now the plan quite well but it's certainly something to think about. I think I might just need a change to keep me motivated - I've eaten completely off plan today - I felt a bit rebelious I think :D. I need to follow some sort of plan to stay in control. I'll still keep posting in here regardless - good to have everything in one place for future reference!

Have a great weekend.

I know what you mean which is also why I am not doing classes just thought perhaps the leaders would know or have some kind of advice to help. Anyway, good luck whatever you decide to do, never heard of this other diet. Whats the concept of it??
xx

Thanks for your support Julie - I will fill you in on the concept when I have properly got my head around it - I can tell you it consists of 3 phases, phase 1 last 5days and is a kind of detox, phase 2 you follow while you are trying to lose weight and phase 3 is how to cheat without gaining while you are maintaining. The general concept is not to mix fats and carbs at the same meal and to avoid processed foods but I really need to read the first part of the book again to make sure I have all the facts right! I'm still not 100% sure it is for me but as the scales are not moving at the moment, I need try something different.

Thanks for your support and good luck for the coming week.

You too xx

Hi Lesley

finally got round to catching up with you too hun
after a flipping hectic weekend :D
plus no excuse really I spent ages looking for your
thread then remembered it was over in the food diaries
and not the diary diaries haha!!
I can be such a numpty
By now I'm guessing that you have started phase 1
how are you finding it so far ?
I also read a book called the GL by Nigel Denby and again it
made a lot of sence to me and has brought me to conclude that
diets don't actually work in the long run
that a lot of us have food intolerances that we have no idea about
the thing is to find out what
the most common being Carb Intolerance
I think Harcombe's plan is a very good starting point, but when you get
to phase 2 would suggest only adding one food source at a time
so you can then work out which you are intolerant too
I'm now 100% sure that Carbs hate me ha!

Hi Kals - glad you had a good weekend, sounds like you had a real good time. I loved your post about your new plan, you are so positive and I'm sure it will work really well for you.

Disappointed to report that I haven't started anything, my stomach has been so bad again that food has been the least of my worries - but I don't think I could have coped with veg and meat at the moment. Feel about 2 stone heavier though!

Hoping to get back to normal by Friday when I shall WI  and then start some sort of healthy eating and will log everything here again.

Good luck Kals and thanks for dropping in.

Thanks Kals, I'm really looking forward to doing something positive and crossing everything that it helps my belly too! What you have said makes so much sense.

Can't believe it's Friday again tomorrow. Will be logging my food again religiously from tomorrow so feel free to kick butt if I mess up! :D

Have a very happy Friday.:)

Friday 24th September

WI - another STS which I am quite pleased about as I have not stuck to any points or even been careful about what I have eaten this week while I have been so undecided about how to proceed with this diet malarky

Breakfast
4 oatcakes

Snack
4 oatcakes

Lunch
2 eggs scrambled
Dash of skimmed milk
Apple

Dinner
Veg & chickpea chilli (cauli, green beans, carrots, peas, chilli, garlic & tin of tomatoes)
Apple

Kals, if you get chance to have a look at this, I would be everso grateful if you could tell me if I have gone wrong as my GL book hasn't arrive yet and I am relying on internet info! Thank you.
