Em's diary

Emm, if you change your target how low are you going to go? I can't decide and I was thinking 140 but I am shorter than you - really not sure. I guess I will have to see how I go! I think it is all going to sway on the size of my belly!

I've changed it once and if I can get to 140 I'll keep it at that. I recalculated my true weight based on my start weight being my highest and the fact that I can now touch my fingers round my wrist, and it came back with 10 1 so it should be doable.

Not much movement this week so going to have to look at limiting the dairy soon I think, I know I'm well over 250ml per day of skinned milk :(

I've had a funny old week with no fluctuations at all. Not gone down yet, but no ups and downs! I tend to lose then go up 1 or two pounds over the next couple of days and go up and down all week. So I am hopeful for a loss but it has been a strange week. Maybe my body doesn't want to see the elevens!!

Still it's nice not to have fluctuated up! Don't know what I could cut out though as I don't have the tolerated items (didn't buy any more skimmed milk powder either) and don't have much dairy.

Where's your milk in your menus, Em? I've never picked that up!

I did get to 140lbs in the past, and two friends and a family member recently reminded me of how "I'd gone too far at one point". You too spring chickens might get away with it, but while my tummy certainly liked that weight better, my face didn't!

awh lovely cat! I have one who loves crabsticks... and one who loves prawns. The former is sadly out of luck cos I no longer nibble them in front of the TV as I once did!

Mouse - have you been using those "things" I spotted in your photo? I know they're fine for Atkins but we have more carbs daily and it could make a difference with Dukan needing to be as close to fat free also...

No I haven't. I only used them about four weeks ago when I ran out of Splenda!!

Thanks for the 'Spring Chick' - not been called that for a few years:D

It's all in my tea and coffee Jo, I get through a pint at work easily and then more tea at home... Might investigate picking some camomile up at the supermarket tonight.

I've only ever had one first thing in the morning and one when I get home, and drink black coffee or water the rest of the day... It's one of those things we'd miss in a new person's menu if they didn't offer it in the menu. I wouldn't even think of that.

Can you try green tea or something to see? Wouldn't it be great if you could get this finished pronto and get into Conso without having to cut back further on your (sometimes already I think light) menus

I will experiment for a week from tomorrow. One coffee and 2 teas per day only. Will keep food the same as I'm barely touching tolerateds at all.

I made yoghurt cake this weekend. 2 tablespoons cornflour = 1 days' tolerateds... then had 1/5 five days running. Not bad going I thought!

:D

Wow that's impressive! I ate that whole cake I made yesterday - but it didn't have any tolerated items in it - except for baking powder (suspect that is tolerated but not sure!!)

I am intrigued with this yogurt cake - I may give this a try this weekend, as TOTM cramping has just arrived. Feel the need for something sweet may rear it's head. Thought about trying mouse's sweet omelette/pancake with a touch of cocoa powder.

Mmm yum. I made with cinnamon and enjoyed. In my menus cinnamon is the new cocoa, but don't tell Dr D or he'll make it tolerated!

Loving the pancakes mouse - put a tsp cocoa in as have been v grumpy and snappish since i got home due to totm i think so thought that might help. could have done with a little extra sweetner, and was worried as the mixture looked very thin but it set fine in the pan and i know after 2 eggs i won't be hungry again tonight! will defo be trying these again and will experiment with cinnamon or maybe chopped up goji berries too.

As an aside (thinking about eggs) I noticed a sign in sainsburys noting that they will be starting to offer free cholesterol testing so i asked about it and that begins in june. i know you can get it done at a lot of pharmacies but i probably wouldn't go out of my way to get that done (well i haven't so far!) but if i could call in when i'm food shopping i might be more tempted. Thought that was worth mentioning.

B: half cinnamon galette
L: 1 fillet smoked mackerel, 1 beef meatloaf muffin, sweetened greek yogurt
S: rest of galette
D: hot fish salad (couple haddock fillets, half pack of prawns & 100g ish smoked salmon fried off so fish goes flakey then mixed with steamed asparagus and green beans cut into bite sized pieces) with a fromage frais, mustard, dill & caper dip
S: chocolate pancake (mouse's 'good' recipe with a tsp cocoa mixed in)

i can recommend Jos yogurt cake ....and i eat the whole one ..... lemon being my fav, very good for totm cravings

Am officially a yogurt cake convert! Made one this morning and cut it into 6 thinking I might just have half today, but half of it is already gone, and the evening's not over yet - will see how i'm feeling later on.

Have had 3 hot drinks so far today, so might make my experiment a limit of 4 per day, which will still be a lot less than previously, and am also feeling buoyed at having lost another 1 1/2 lb this week so perhaps dairy not quite the issue i thought it might have been.

B: cinnamon galette
L: 1 fillet smoked mackerel, bowl of fish salad (same quantities as yesterday's dinner but cold)
S: 1/2 yogurt cake (spread throughout day)
D: 250g luc lac turkey with celeriac chips
