Our Easter stash!

Hi VP! Just catching up on your diary, everything's looking great! Your house is just lovely and your meals are yummy as usual. How interesting that you were eating under your calories and didn't feel deprived. On my really bad days recently I bet I was eating like 5000 calories! Ack!

So are you planning kids soon? :)

Being under calories is definitely not the case lately lol! I've relaxed a lot recently and need to not feel too relaxed or else I'll pile it back on. It's so difficult learning how to maintain. I'm 10st 2lbs as of today so I'm going to try to stick to plan for at least a week so I can try to get back to just under 10st as that's where I'd like to stay ideally.

We'd love to start having babies asap but we've decided to wait until we get married which we're hoping will be next year. We saw a couple of venues this weekend as we're back in Cheltenham for Easter, but none we've felt are quite right just yet. We've got two more to see tomorrow so fingers crossed! I'd love to get somewhere booked so I can start planning. It's weird but I don't feel comfortable planning anything until we've got a venue/date. I suppose at the moment it doesn't feel like we're getting married so it feels odd to plan for it.

I'm planning to have a 100% week as I feel like I've fallen off the rails a bit lately and would like to get back into the safe zone of 9st 10lbs(ish). I may even go for a 100% 2 weeks as I don't have any plans at the weekend so there should be no reason to eat out or have booze, which I've struggled to avoid since we moved to Manchester.

My new herbal tea that I couldn't resist in Tesco. I definitely have a bit of a tea addiction!

And I cheekily took a photo of a recipe in the latest SW mag as I didn't want to buy it as knew I wouldn't do any of the other recipes, but I'll definitely be trying this one!

Just trying my herbal tea and it's yummy! Very different from any I've tried before.

So funny hun, because I was only looking at that tea yesterday. I'm really starting to love herbal teas and it's actually quite exciting! What are those teapigs ones??

I tried camomile tea for the first time yesterday having heard the hot guy from safe haven say 'if she can't sleep, a camomile tea should do the trick' when talking to his love interest about his daughter. Haha! I love it. Do you get a sort of honey taste off it? It's soooo yummy!

That mayflower curry sauce looks lovely, i wonder if they sell it anywhere over here!

X

Tea pigs are fab! Lots of interesting flavours.

I love chamomile tea. It's all I drank whilst we were travelling as we never had fresh milk. Now whenever I drink it I get reminded of our travels. I'm thinking about travelling now and feeling depressed at being stuck in this boring office in the cold lol.

Tea Pigs Creme Caramel is my favourite but I can never find it. Last time I got some was when we did an ocado shop. As for the mayflower sauce, I order it from amazon.

You can get it in a shop in the UK called Farmfoods but I never shop there so would cost just as much to make a special trip to one than to just pay for postage! I think no matter how many boxes you order the postage stays the same.

I shall look out for that favour then when I stock up next.

I need to get back into my teas. Been drinking far too much wine and diet coke of late. I also really like twinings moment of calm. My fav tea pigs is liquorice and mint.

Ooh the liquorice and mint is lovely. A tip for you though - pukka do the same flavour and they taste pretty much the same. Plus they're cheaper and much easier to come by. I'll have to try moment of calm. I'm a bit addicted to Pukka at the mo and have a few on my shopping list to try - harmonise, revitalise and morning time. I love night time, relax and vanilla chai. The ones I bought yesterday were nice but I'm not sure I'll purchase them again.

Oh I want to make this! Recipe please? Looks gorgeous!

I made a chicken and mushroom risotto recentt and it was lovely but I had to use way more stock than the recipe suggested. When it was all gone I found rice was still hard. Any tips?

I have never seen tea pigs! Do m&s do it? I might buy it online along with the mayflower curry sauce, you think its worth it?

I am starting to really love herbal teas :)

I usually only have one 'normal' cup of tea per day now and about 3 herbal ones- 1 flavoured green tea, one fruity one and one camomile!

I want to try different flavours now :)

Vp may have a better answer for you but I'd say do your risotto as slow as poss so the rice has plenty of time to absorb and cook.

Tea pigs here are generally found at good garden centres with a fifty section, farm shops and waitrose :)

It's the first time I've done a risotto but if I'd followed the recipe exactly it wouldn't have been cooked. I just kept tasting it then added more hot water once the stock had run out then left it alone for a little bit like I would a paella but still stirring occasionally until the rice was done. I'll post the recipe in a bit.

I'm not sure M&S does tea pigs but I've seen it in most supermarkets although they only normally stock 2 or 3 flavours. I've managed to get them with my ocado shop and specialist food stores, but I originally got mine from the tea pigs site itself. It's worth having a look on their website for stockists.

I shall be giving this a go soon. Thank you :)

I'll definitely check out their site. I wonder if it would work out crazy expensive to order just a few boxes to Ireland. Worth looking in to for sure. Would you recommend the Mayflower curry sauce too? What's the benefits of it over any regular curry sauce? Is it that it tastes so like a take-away? If so I would be very interested. I actually plan to try the mushy pea curry this weekend. I have heard so many good things about it and apparently it is gorgeous, despite sounding odd. Have you tried it?

I have seen Ocado referenced on Honey's food diary too. Is it an online food place that you can order exotic food from? What kinds of things would you order? Would it be just a rare occasion like once every couple of months or something?

Thanks for risotto recipe, I will definitely try it, possibly this weekend actually :)

I really want to try some of your recipes, I have been looking at your blog and it's given me some great ideas.

Definites in the near future are

- chicken and choritzo paella
- One of your Indian Dishes such as the Tikki Masala or Dhansak
- Chicken Stock Potatoes (should the potatoes literally be swimming in the stock?)
- Hunters Chicken (This is SO me. Anything with BBQ sauce and cheese is a winner for me)

Can't wait to try all of these :)
