Hi Tulip/Nikki. Aw i've not been too bad today, i'm usually terrible at weekends. Went shopping in tesco and put an old coat on as weather bit warmer, rather than my big size 18 anorak and i've not been able to fasten it ever, used to just fasten one button but last time i wore it just had it open as too fat for it! Well today i fastened all three buttons - unheard of!! Think it gave me confidence and willpower, so i'm hoping not to spoil my good vibes recently! I have bought a lot of fruit as i found some absolutely gorgeous smoothie recipes and wanted to try them. Also, do either of you like kippers? They are very low, I had some last night and really enjoyed them. I had the frozen variety with butter (170g) and even those are only 4 syns. If you just have 29g (fresh from fishmonger) they are only half a syn. Eaten with wholemeal bread (HexB) and scraping of spread they make an extremely low syn meal if you like them. I bought some today from fishmonger in tesco and I asked him to take the skin off cos i can't be bothered doing it myself! Looking forward to them nowThanks lovely, just hope it fits! I've been bloated all day, I feel massive, and all I want is tonnes of food!! x x

Ah i suppose you either love em or hate em. I love fish and I do enjoy kippers. I'm making my own smoothies with syn free fruit and ice? Some have low fat yoghurt in which i'll syn but most of them free? xxNot sure I like kippers to be honest, never had them but I think the smell would put me off! Just be careful with smoothies because you syn them and can be quite high.
Just cooking roast veg and salmon tonight....couldn't resist a vodka or 4 though!!!!
Well one on the coat, a great NSV!

Ha thats cool if you're going to try them, they're really nice and go well with wholemeal bread which we can have! xxI agree with Nikki, it's fab when your clothes start fitting differently, definitely a step in the right direction Go you!!
I've never had kippers either, but I do like fish, might give them a go, I have to try to eat more fish!
We have Easter goodies in... There's Aero and Caramels in the fridge, my Curly Wurlys in the freezer and Easter Mallows in the cupboard, I had to have 1 to try... Quite glad I did, seems to have taken the edge off... Might have an Options or something a bit later if I feel the need x x
If you blend the fruit you need to syn them as it is food abuse xx
Michjoanne said:OMG what is food abuse!! Never heard that before!!!!
Also, whats NSV? I'm crap at these SW abbreviations! xx
Ah right thanks hon, i've looked it up too and found a funny rhyme about it!! But i'm sure mine will be ok as main one i wanted to do only uses cup of diced melon and cup of green grapes and sprig of mint, splash of lemon!! But thanks for warning me xxFood abuse is for example.... In a smoothie you put 2 bananas and 15 strawberries....this wouldn't fill you up when in smoothie form like if you eat them raw. Sorry if that sound vague hun. Its like the SW potato crisps or like juicing 15 oranges to make a glass of orange.
Just wanted to give you a heads up
A NSV is a non scale victory, so fitting in a new size clothes is a NSV.

PS. How on earth would you syn a home made fruit smoothie...not sure how to do that?

Slimming World Abuse!
1.COUS COUS ABUSE!
Thou shalt not grind up cous cous and use it to make cakes without synning it. 28g of ground up cous cous is 5 syns. Same goes for polenta, bulgar wheat, rice and any other grain you use to make cheaty puddings. SLIMMING WORLD LAUGHS HEARTILY AT YOUR PUDDINGS! Did you really think you could make your cake and eat it too?!
2.BLENDING YOUR FRUIT
Thou shalt not have smoothies with blended fruit because thou shalt eat twenty apples in one glass and make yourself sick and blame Slimming World because they told you fruit was free. (You can blend your veg though because as Gillian McKeith proved so many times, no one really likes carrot and cucumber smoothies)
3.EATING PEAS ON A RED DAY
Thou shalt not eat peas on a red day because you will eat soooo many of them you will pop. Plus they have loads of sugary badness in them that magically melts away when you do a green day though we won’t tell you how or why. Ditto sweetcorn.
4.NOT WEIGHING AND MEASURING HEXes
Thou shalt weigh and measure because that’s not 227g of SW chips, that’s 227KG of SW chips! Thou shalt weigh and measure because that 64g bun contains twice the fat of a 57g bun! Thou shalt weigh and measure because 250ml of semi skimmed milk will NOT be enough for a bowl of Weetabix and 6 cups of tea. Thou shalt weigh and measure because surely 42g of cheese shouldn’t be able to fill an entire ciabatta (and what are you doing eating ciabatta anyway???)
5.NOT REFERRING TO THE BIBLE FOR SYNS
The Bible states that on the first 6 days, her Ladyship Margaret Miles Bramwell made Slimming World. On the 7th day, she did nothing. It didn’t help her Body Magic but it gave her a break from obsessing over whether or not to have that final 99 flake (2.5 SYNS). The least you could do is read it.
6.CALLING SW A ‘DIET’
Thou shalt not call Slimming World a diet because it’s not. It’s a healthy way of eating for life. Call it a diet and you’ll soon be off down the chippy with the rest of the gang from your nearest Weight Watchers class. Go home and make SW burger and chips instead. Tastes nicer, and your pants fit better.
7.NOT BELIEVING IN THE POWER OF FREE FOOD
Thou shalt eat free food til it comes out of your ears, and not be scared of having an extra chicken breast and not be scared if your plate looks fuller than the Jolly Green Giant’s. EAT until you are full. But eat the right things. Yes you can eat bananas, yes you can eat eggs. No you can’t substitute them for chocolate because bananas have too much sugar and eggs raise your cholesterol. That’s all bollocks, you know!
Haha good isn't it!! Thanks for looking smoothie fruit up for me, rhubarb crumble would be different as 'cooked' fruit?! Oh what do I know, i'll just be careful!! xxLove love love this! Read it and OH was piddling his self listening to it!
Xx
Thanks for posting this, made me giggle x x
