FUNCURLS FOOD DIARY, BLOG and CHIT CHAT!! New target set!!

Syns horrify me. They creep up on you so quickly. We had a nice little habas con jamon tapa at the bar earlier. Habas free, jamon free (ish).
But oh those wicked syns - all because of the olive oil!

I'm not doing very well this week at all.
I'm doing starvin' marvin tonight too! I'm currently trying to avoid a having a cereal bar as it will throw me over my hex B allowance.
:sigh:

Aww I know it's frightening how they can tot up! A tablespoon of oil isn't much but 6 syns certainly piles on the syns! I suppose they're a really good way of getting us to stay aware of what we're putting in our mouths and encourage us to fill up on the free/low syn stuff!! And we're proof that it works!! This is why food diaries really do work!!X

Hey Hevs

I'm back - having to start all over from scratch. I need your support as I did so badly at falling off the wagon. I'll be starting a new diary.

I see you are still doing awesomely well. I'll take my inspirations from that. I really hope I can do this this time.

Hello to you too Pommette x

How are you all?

Hiya Red - nice to talk to you again. You can so do this hun. You've done it before. The trick is staying there though.
I'm struggling a bit with maintaining - I go up 3 lbs and then have to hop back on plan and lose it again.
Good luck chica! We're all here to help you along.
Get you new diary in your sig and we'll come and kick ass!!! :D

Afternoon Hev

6 syns for Oil isn't bad and if its Olive or Rape seed
its very healthy for you
I'd sooner have a drizzle of Oil on a salad than a bar

Hi Kally!!Thanks for popping by!! I'd have flicked the kettle on if I'd known you were coming lol!! I was in work missing out on all the fun!! You're quite right about the oil!! I guess that's why they count E.V.O.O as a HEX on SW- because it's good for you! I normally spend my HEXs on other things though so have to syn the oil! Oh well, as you say it's good for us in moderation!! HOpe you've had a lovely day!!!XXX

How are you all?

MELISSAAAAA!!!!! So lovely to see you back here and raring to go again!! I know you're probably disappointed in yourself right now and feeling like you have a new mountain to climb, but just chip away bit by bit and keep at it through the good and the bad weeks and you'll get there!! I always loved your food diaries and got lots of 'thinspiration' from them so I look forward to seeing them again!! Like me you love your food- all you have to do is turn it to your advantage and make really yummy food that is SW friendly (of which there is a vast variety!!) and most of all see it all as a positive thing and an experience to be enjoyed!! Think back to when you were cooking lovely things and enjoying the feelings of seeing the pounds melt away and all the great 'NSVs' that come with weight loss and healthy eating!! Yup, I'm still here, sticking at it when I can but I have good weeks and bad weeks and sometimes find it hard staying afloat- but so far so good!! I've lowered my target slightly so that I have something to focus on!!XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hello again to you too Pomette - it's so good to 'see' you all again.

I'll put up my diary now and pop a link in my sig. So lovely to have your support.

I still think you are amazing staying within 3lbs of your maintenance, to me that is maintaining, not piling on too much and staying on top of it - you're doing a great job.

xxxx

Well who makes the rules?!! My hubby Dai looked at me with disgust and then when he actually decided to take the plunge and try it he was most impressed!! Afterall, curry and eggs are used together in many recipes, and there's the chickpea dahl loaf recipe, baked with eggs, so why not?!! Bloody gawjus!! FACT!!X

Afternoon Hev

hope all is well with you hun

Hi hun, yeah all OK with me thanks! Starting my nights tonight so got that pre-night blues feeling, but I'll be fine when I get there lol! Lunch- 2-egg omelette with onion, red pepper, mushrooms and oregano. Hot chilli ketchup (1 syn). Eating out before work this eve so kept it light by cutting down by one egg!!

Tea (in pub) before work- Well it all started so well.....Blackened salmon with Cajun spices served with lovely veg and jacket potato (1.5 syns for 1/2 pat butter)......BUT THEN.....the lure of the Tiramisu ice-cream cake was too much to resist and I caved in (est ?25 syns!!!) But it gets worse (see work food below!)

Work food in night- Stirfried chicken and veg (from Tesco Chinese stirfry pack- I added cherry tomatoes and mangetout) with soy sauce. Tesco lemon & coriander couscous ( 1 syn). 2 sliced oranges. A morello cherry Mullerlight Greek style (0.5 syns). AND THEN.....a huuge amount of colleague Angela's lemon cake (lemon butter icing) nom nom nom...lost control a bit! probably another 25-30 syns!!! Whoopsy, blown it BIG TIME today!!!

"Enjoy" you nights chica. Sorry we can't manage to meet up this weekend but it's not that long until October.

Red - thank you so much for you nice comments. It's hard to get my head round the fact that Yes - actually I am maintaining.
It's just really frightening every time I see the scales go up!!

Speak to you all again in 11 days!

Good luck for night shifts Hev

I am so gonna have to hunt those alpen bars down I really miss my cherry bakewells! There is a recipe on YouTube for SW Cherry Bakewell Icecream - can;t wait for cherry season to make some

You always eat such lovely food so wish you would come and stay a year with me and look after me! Although I'm not sure about dahl omlette but then I'm not a big omlette fan

another 2.5lbs off for me - not quite the 3 or 4 I had hoped for but I have had to hand the kitchen reins to Paul and he doesn't stick to recipes and weigh everything religiously like i do

Have a great weekend, even if you are working, donna x

PS Welcome back Little Red Riding Hood!

PS Welcome back Little Red Riding Hood!

Thank you so much Donna :thankyou: and I keep hearing about these Cherry Bakewell Alpens on here and I am actually disproportionately excited about finding some (well, since they are after all, just a cereal bar!) I am even taking a special trip to Asda today. I really want some. I have been tweaking my shopping list all week.

Well done for your loss Donna - that's brilliant, maybe not 3 or 4 but still a very decent loss.

I may even try that omelette/chickpea dahl combo this week lol - I actually approve of it.

Hope your day is awesome Curls, Donna and Mumma K (my kids call me mumma instead of mummy :D - so your name makes me smile)
