FUNCURLS FOOD DIARY, BLOG and CHIT CHAT!! New target set!!

Morning chica - what time were the in-laws due to fly? One flight to Funchal got off just 30 minutes late this morning. Lets hope they're on their way.
Good luck at WI tonight lets hope all that cacciatore hadn't done too much damage - not to mention the apple pie.

Hi chica
They got off fine - their flight left at 8ish so we can breathe a sigh of relief! She's in her 70s and he's 80, we feel very responsible as we'd sent them away!! Just want everything to go smoothly and we always seem to be jinxed with trips and timing!! Just hope they land ok!! And get back next week!!

The apple pie was only a sliver- I think im looking at about a 4lb loss but not going to jump the gun!! We shall see!! XxxxX

Hope all well with you xxxxxx

Week 1- Day 5- Saturday 19th January 2013 Day off.

I've gone about this the wrong way! I didn't write it down as I went along (writing this retrospectively on Sunday) and I simply can't remember all the details so I'm not going to try!! All I know is that throughout the day I did quite well apart from 1 digestive biscuit! I did lots of cooking for the next couple of days - I roasted a chicken and I made a fairly large pot of chilli con carne with extra lean minced beef! Picked at these as I made them lunchtime. Then we had guests over in the evening- long story but our neighbour cooked for us. Firstly a tomato, basil and mozzerella salad- I went easy on the mozzarella but hadn't had my HEXa apart from a couple of cups of tea! Also over indulged in some of those mini cheese straws- they were moreish and more than just a few syns!!! This was followed by a chicken cacciatore which is basically chicken thighs browned and baked in a dish along with tomatoes, red wine, shallots, garlic, olives. Served with fresh tagliatelle. Very yummy- I removed the skin from my chicken but I'm unsure how much oil was used in the dish. Then had a very small slice of apple pie (no accompaniment) and one small glass of Cava just to be sociable but I don't really drink!!

So that was my day- a bit disjointed and difficult to keep track of syns!! All I know is that I went over but I was nowhere near as indulgent as I would have been before starting back at SW!!! Still hoping for a decent loss!! XX

Im always doing that
If I dont write it down straight away forget it

Hey Curls,

Food sounds lovely - hope it doesn't hurt weigh in and you get a good result.

I'm impressed by your cooking in advance. I did a bit myself this weekend, some veggie, tomato and basil sauce a tortilla and chicken liver pate. I am also very intrigued by the baked bean omelette's - tell me more???

Red - Lovely to see you again. How are you doing?
have you updated your profile recently? There's a bit of a problem at the mo with century badges getting turned on because of a fault.

Hi Kals,

The snow was really coming down quite heavy around Gatwick!! We were going to stay for an hour or so with them and have a meal but we had to make quite a speedy getaway and head back West ASAP before we ran into real problems!! M25 and anything East of it was getting bad by late afternoon!! We got back to Swansea just after 9! We made quite good time considering!! Mind you there was less traffic on the roads being a Sunday AND snowing people were avoiding going out if they could help it I suppose!!XXXXX

Good new peeps!! I lost 5.5 lb this week my first WI!!! I'm very pleased because although I'm not a great believer in churning out big losses, it did feel good on my first week as it's given me the boost I needed to start me off!! I feel even more motivated now XXXXXXX

Thanks Red,

Cooking in advance is definitely the way to go because yoy always have meals and snacks to hand without having to wait! You can freeze things and you can take portions of things to work! Your stuff sounds great! How do you make chicken liver pate?

Baked bean omelettes do what they say on the tin....heheee!! Well people dont think twice about putting baked beans alongside fried eggs, so why not marry the two in a nice neat healthy bundle?! I simply heat half a tin or a small tin worth of baked beans in the microwave, make up a 3 egg omelette and just as it's setting pour the beans into the centre and fold over! No reason why you can't bung in a nice bit of bacon as well! Nom nom!! I sometimes add some spice to my BBO- Caribbean curry spice, chilli, paprika or just add brown sauce or bbq sauce to serve. Very yummy!! I am going to rekindle my relationship with syn free sausages soon too there's a butcher in Swansea market who does them and im very excited to try them!! I feel a sausage and baked bean omelette coming on exciting stuff!! Bet you wish you'd never asked now eh ?!! XxxxX

I did wonder why on earth I had a century badge - I don't even know what it means! I know I shouldn't have one though.

I'm fine Pommette. I have updated my profile or some of it. I'm going to classes now and started a new diary. How are you? x

Well done Curls!! That's brilliant. You've done really well xx

Thanks lovely ladies!!! XXXXX

Didn't keep a food diary yesterday! Not that I didn't have a good day- I actually kept it really really light! It was just a disjointed one, and was busy and didn't keep track properly!! Tut tut!!XX
