:sick:Yo Yo, measured my calves today at work, and they are 15.75 inches. Still have to lose 2.5 stone so there's hope they will shrink! I can't push myself exercise wise when I SS or 790, cos I feel so weak and thready afterwards for quite a while. I guess the shape up will have to come in a few months time.

Janey, don't be despondent about those figures. They are probably above average anyway! After your totally fab week with good weather, the only way is down with the down weather.

I am feeling very crappy today. Loads of gas in my tum and a stinking cold coming on too:sick:. I am, really gasping for an alcoholic drink too:party0036:, and I have weighed myself today and it looks like I have GAINED weight .How??? I haven't cheated, and I'm glugging water. plus weigh in day is on thursday instead of saturday, so that won't help matters either!:argh:

today's scores on the doors 18,629 including 10,852 aerobic steps (97 minutes) but the majority of the steps came from

20 minutes on the treadmill at varying speeds, running for 1 minute, then walking for 90 seconds.

20 minutes on the cross trainer

Then another 20 minutes on the incline i-tread track.
 
yo-yo-dieter you seem to do so well with your steps - do you do most of yours with gym exercises? I think maybe I will have to do something like this because I am finding it impossible to do 10,000 'walking' steps when working and with the weather horrible (today being the exception weatherwise). I just can't get out! :(
 
Janey, yes I am wearing my pedometer in the gym, If I didn't my steps would be pitiful!!! It's just a bit of fun at the moment, I like to see how active I can be.

Big Bird - the weight will come off, I never thought I would have thin enough calfs to wear high-street bought boots but I do...

10,100 for me yesterday. An odd figure but I took it off when I got into bed in the dark and didn't know until this morning what it said. I've seen the weather forecast and "fingers crossed" it is going to be dry, dry, drrrrrrryyyyyyy this weekend! Let's blimmin' hope so! :D
 
Off sick today.:sick: Had to walk the dog this morning, but OH has just come back from Sweden and is taking him out this pm! Have sat around alot and haven't worn MNBF, as I know what the morning walk is,( 2100 steps, )plus pottering, so I guess my steps would be 3,000 for today. I will have to try harder!
 
12,168 in total for today, including 4908 aerobic (45 minutes).
 
yo-yo-dieter, how many 'walking' steps do you think you do a day? At the moment all my steps are out walking and even a long walk in my lunch hour only clocks up just over 5,000 and that is putting in a lot of distance. Does your pedometer register movement or actual steps at the gym?
 
As soon as my pedometer arrives in the post (should be a few days) i'll be joining you guys :D

Also, sorry to ask but I wanted to know how you guys are defining aerobic steps? (Unless im being dense and you went to an aerobics class:D) xxx

The omron pedometer is able to tell you how many of your steps are aerobic steps.

You can put down how long or how far you have walked in the meantime...

Ah, my pedometer isnt a fancy Omron one, but it does have a radio - thought it might keep me amused while on trains etc, won't be using it while walking in isolated places or at night, thanks for telling me though :)

I find counting my steps is motivating...:)
 
Aerobic steps are the steps your pedometer has counted when you have walked for ten minutes or more without stopping (it allows you to stop for up to a minute for things like traffic lights, but if you stop for a chat you've had it LOL).

Janey - at the gym the only things I go on are the treadmill and the cross trainer so any movement where your hip is making the pedometer register get counted - as far as I am concerned the cross trainer is harder work than walking so I am gonna flipping well wear it LOL. But - as you can see from yesterdays figure of 12,000 I didn't go to the gym so they were all walking steps, it was a good day steps wise. I walked into town, and I walked down to school and back. 10 minutes of ordinary walking gives me about 1050-1070 per minute, but at the gym that shoots up to 1120-1170 dependent on speed on treadmill
 
Welcome supersara! As you can see, everyones steps seem to vary greatly from day to day, but it's a great motivator to try to beat or at least manitain your score! Good luck!

Janey, your poor steps are equivalent to my normal ones! I'm feeling better today. Hands still ache and so does the head but I will persevere! Def not a case of 'manflu'.:crazy:
Have you started the RB book yet? I'm sure you will enjoy it, :ignore: I will have to look at everybodies cp very closely next time!

Yo Yo, you are still doing so well! They are building a 'state of the art' gym/leisure centre by us, so when it opens you ahve given me the incentive to go. When I lived in the USA I belonged to a gym, and went most days to use the elliptical trainer and go to spinning classes on a bike. Nothing like that here unless you join for 2 years at e phenominal cost, also no spinning.:mad:
