Gobolino's Food Diary - converted to ww now!

Oh dear, I'm not quite on plan today.... well wont be after tonight. I've been making sticky toffee puddings in the slow cooker (pretty rubbish, but its a treat for hubby). I have 6 small ones in the slow cooker and they are full of butter and sugar but I do still fancy one.

In a bid to limit the damage I'm considering having soup for tea rather than an oven baked jacket with cheese, beans and salad. Or do I have the jacket and huge portion of beans and salad and hope that I'm not hungry for the sticky toffee pudding afterwards.

MMmmmmmm I dont know what to do. Here's my day so far:
B- oats, yog, milk, apple, strawberries (HB, HA)
snack-clementine, HiFi (HB)
D- veg soup
snack- roughly 20 dates :)( ), 2 sticks of licorice (6syns), 1 chocolate marzipan (2syns)
exercise- Body Jam class (60mins), dog walk (30mins), cleaning house.

What do I want more ? The weight loss or the pudding ?

Maybe I'll work out the syns for the pudding and have half a one or a spoonful ???!!!???

Individual sticky toffee pudding = 19.5syns. I wonder if a homemade ramekin one is going to work out the same syns.

Maybe I'll just enjoy it and then have the rest of the week to make up for it!

EDIT- I'm 90% thinking that I'll have either half a one or a whole one and for the rest of the week stick to 5syns a day. I've also been for another 30min walk and plan for a jacket potato tea first :)

Ok, dilema over. I decided to have a half portion with a couple of tablespoons of elm lea single cream. I'm happy to have tried it, but it was sooooo rich half a portion was just right.

Rest of the week, syns WILL be kept to a minimum to ensure a loss or maintain next Tuesday (fingers crossed) :)

Well done on being good with the pudding - I love a sticky toffee pudding, it's always my first choice on a pub menu... I don't think I would have been able to resist, I probably would have eaten three of them!!
19.5 syns isn't even too bad... and a half one is positively angelic in my book :)

Thank you Teresa & Thank you Prawnchopsuey :) Its good to come on here and talk it through with you !!!

It did take alot of thinking through and afterwards I worked out the syns and each mini-pud would have been 35syns if it was made with proper butter (I made mine with half proper butter and half with some utterly butterly type stuff from Aldi, so a little bit better, perhaps taking the syns to 30 ?).

Anyway, I made 6 !!!! Hubby had 1.5 last night, I had 0.5 and then we made the executive decision of giving our neighbours the other 3 !

Absolutely having lots of speed and superspeed foods from now on and lots of water (5 big glasses of water a day was the last challenge from my consultant). However we are still on our weeks holiday so there are a couple of meals out. Today is the carvery :)

Here's today: March 3rd
B- 42g all bran (HB), water, banana, melon
D- Toby Carvery (I will not have an ice cream. I know they taste fab, but I dont need to taste another one to confirm this!). A few syns for gravy and stuffing. Will probably take a HiFi (HB) as a dessert.
T- Veggie soup
snacks- ? Latte this evening (HA)

Here's what really happened today:

B-All bran (42g HB) with water, melon, banana
snack- mince pie HiFi (HB)
D- Monsterous salad - lettuce, tom, cu, pepper layered with mini pasta, fromage frais dressing, cheese (28g HA) and quorn tikka pieces (this was gorgeous!!!!)
snack- went out shopping and stopped for a coffee (skinny latte (HA)), also had a look in hotel chocolate and was offered a sample (2syns)
T- veggie soup, strawberries and yog (possibly with a dollop of walls soft scoop light - syns) 50g 3.5syns

exercise- 1 body balance class, 1 body jam class :) :)
syns-5.5

You'll get your sticker next weigh-in, I'm sure of it :)

I got a free chocolate the first time I went into a Hotel Chocolat shop and was converted. I now buy tonnes of the stuff online, it's slippery slope. But every time I walk past a shop I go in and walk round to try and get offered a chocolate, and I've never been offered one since!! Cheek ;)

Ha ha - thats funny! We were tempted to go in a second time, but I think we'd have been rumbled. It is LOVELY chocolate :) We bought my future brother in law a pack of egg and soldiers chocolates, they look really cute!

Saturday 5th March

B-eggs on toast (65g wholemeal) HB+1/2syn
snacks- small banana, HiFi (HB), latte (HA)
D-veggie soup, quorn tikka pieces, vlf fromage frais, highlights powder (20g 3syns), summer berries.
T-Jacket potato with beans, butter beans, chopped toms, carrot, onion (hot pot!)
snacks -at our neighbours for drinks and nibbles (I could do without these obviously. Will try not to appear rude, but if its unhealthy stuff I wont be having it!), I'm taking the 1 syn lager (4% crown sainsburys own) and will have some of those (maybe 2 or 3).

exercise - body jam class, 60mins walking

I am sooooooooooo hungry today, well this afternoon really. Perhaps its because im in the house on my own ? I've had 2 marzipan chocolates (4syns), 4 dates (8syns not sure if thats right it seems really high for 4 little dates!), 2 pieces of licorice (6syns).

Plus we're going out to our neighbours tonight for Wii, drinks and nibbles (she has let me know she has carrot sticks and low fat houmous so at least I wont have to nibble crisps!). Oh well, this is life, we just have to get on with it!!

My inlaws are coming over for lunch tomorrow, so we're having a roast. I think I'll need to do some evening out of syns tomorrow.

Really want to keep on track now. Weigh in on Tuesday and I really want that half stone sticker :)

Sunday - went well, breakfast, roast lunch with in-laws and then vlf fromage frais and strawbs for tea, evening time I had a few sticks of licorice. 30 mins walk.

Today hasnt gone so well. Well it did until I came home from work..... 3 fibre plus bars (HB+12syns), licorice (3 syns per piece and far too many), dates (2syns each and far too many).

Not only am I disappointed in myself but more than that I'm starting to feel that I'm sabotaging myself as deep down I dont feel I should succeed. I'm not sure if its that or if its just that its Monday (and the first Monday back to work after a week off). I've really been gearing myself up to try to get my half stone tomorrow night and right at the last minute I've blown it (and as I've just said it partly feels like its been done on purpose :( ).

I've satisfied my hunger with sw wedges now, but cant help feeling down about it all. I know its the fibre plus bars that started me off on a binge for sure. Just trying to chill out now and drink lots of squash :)

Off to bed now to think about what I've done! :)

Hiya Gobolino! If you like liquorice, you might like Fox's Dark. Like Fox's glacier mints except they are aniseed and liquorice flavour. One syn each and you can sook them for ages :p

Remember that North African chickpea curry recipe you posted on the veggie slow cooker thread? I have it quite often, but have tweaked it a bit to make it syn and hexb free. (Swapped olive oil for frylight and swapped dried apricots for butternut squash so it is still quite sweet). It's lovely so thanks again for that.

Good luck for weigh in :) x

Oh thanks for the idea Sausage :) I've actually tried Foxs dark, but I wouldnt have thought to have them as a licorice alternative- what a good idea!

Your tweaks for the curry sound fab, especially the BNS to keep it sweet. Do you find it sticks at all using fry light though ? I'll give this a try I think..... nothing better than a free curry (with free rice and chips of course) :)

Mmmmmm mmmm thanks I'll take a look at those recipies too :)
----------------------

I think I need to do some thinking out loud on the topic of self sabbotage and why its happened.......

Facts:
1. I'm feeling better having lost 5.5lb
2. Mother in law commented on the fact that I've lost weight and have shaped up
3. I'm back to work after a weeks holiday
4. Last night and today I've reverted back to old habits (which perhaps havent been tested up till now)- last night binge when arriving home from work and then not going to any exercise class either. Today, buying a tracker bar and a flapjack as I'm fed up with work.

Feelings:
1. I am worried about tomorrows class as I've put pressure on myself (albeit not a huge pressure!) to get to my half stone.
2. I must have some delf doubt that I'm not totally aware of. This makes me doubt if I can keep on with sticking to plan in tough times and also makes me doubt if I'm meant to be slim/ succeed.

I need to be more aware of the facts and feelings and plan around them, in order to succeed. I'm going to class, will face it and move on. Next week is a new week. I am not going to doubt myself, I am not going to doubt myself, I am not going to doubt myself!

Not tomorrows class- tonights class :)

I am not going to doubt myself, I am not going to doubt myself, I am not going to doubt myself!
I think if you are going to have a chant or a wee song, it should not have any negative words in it. All your brain will hear are the words "doubt myself, doubt myself". How about "I believe in myself!"

My tip would be to only eat healthy stuff, stuff that will not only do you no harm, but stuff that will actually do you some good. If you lose weight, it's a bonus! :)

Good luck Gobolino :party0011:
