Gobolino's Food Diary - converted to ww now!

You are brave to do the thinking out loud. I understand exactly how you feel, I probably could of written the same post myself about this past weekend.

I do think hi fi bars might be something you have to think about not buying as they seem frequently to act as a trigger food for you.

Definitely go to group tonight but do not punish /console yourself if the results are not what you hoped. Any gain will be a temporary gain from yesterdays over eating. Maybe think about rewarding yourself for going to group with a new recipe book / magazine etc

Good luck

Teresa

Thanks Silly Sausage - I believe in myself (repeat until this sinks in!!) :)

Thanks Teresa - wise words and you'll be pleased to know I didnt buy any HiFi bars tonight either. I'm stearing clear of those, Fibre one bars and alpen light bars. I'm now thinking a pack of HiFi's might be my treat for getting any awards (I know its food as a treat which isnt good but it'll be well deserved and at least that way I can break the routine of buying them every week).

I gained 1/2 a pound tonight. I realise that if I hadnt overeaten yesterday and today I may well have stayed the same or even lost, but whats done is done. Next week is a new week and I'm going to give it 100%.

Also in more thinking out loud sessions with myself I've discovered 2 more facts: its TOTM very soon and I've sneaky peaked at the scales all week. So I'm armed with the facts and here's my plan to turn it around:

1. Embrace SW.... free food, healthy extras and syns :) Make nice meals and enjoy them. Do not let work stress me out and give in to trigger foods (licorice, dates, cereal bars!)
2. No sneaky peaking this week (all week!). This is no good for me, the only weigh in that counts is the one next Tuesday night. Sneaky peaking is not allowed.
3. Spend some time thinking about how others comments (and compliments) affect me. Just because someone comments that I look to have lost weight, this doesnt need to affect how I go about following my healthy eating plan. In future compliments will be accepted gracefully and the actual words will glaze over me, they do not need to affect me in any way.
4. I need to believe in myself. I do belive in myself! This is perfectly attainable and doable and I can do it. I need to be very wary of self sabotage and nip it in the bud, I deserve to be sucessfull.
5. I am finding new ways to be me. Theres no need for me to comfort eat when I arrive home from work. This is one of the habits I used to have and I thought I had cracked it. With a little more practice I will crack it.

Ok, thats all I can think of at the moment :)

I need to take something into work tomorrow for birthday celebrations. Everyone takes in cakes and biscuits and I never have any of it so tomorrow I'm taking in chopped kiwi, pineapple, grapes, crimson raisins (15 syns per 100g) and canned lychees (in light syrup so again these have syns hence why they've been in my cupboard for so long!).

You've heard the expression let them eat cake. Well tomorrow, it'll be let them eat fruit! Fingers crossed I set a trend (but I very much doubt it) :)

I don't think for a holiday/birthday week half a pound gain is too bad BUT you are right without the monday crazies that would not have been a gain.

You are so right with all your thinking aloud it is not only changing your eating but also to your relationship to food.

Well done on not buying the bars. I opened a pack of the new chocolate ones the other day and it wa sonly because hubby was sitting next to me i did not eat all four (just 2 ) They are delicous but for people like us who just one starts off a chain reaction just not worth it.

That's a great idea on taking fruit into work for your birthday - I'd love it if more people did that.... but then, I thought about it and decided that cake was much cheaper so went with the unhealthy option! :)

Teresa, I do have to talk to myself alot about multipacks of any cereal bars and 'its just not worth it' does come up quite a bit! I think for me giving them a rest is definitely a good idea :)

Ok, so heres how Thursday 10th March has panned out:

B- quorn sausage sandwhich (HB+1syn), raspberries, yog (0.5syn), 10g raisins (1.5syns)

Woo hoo, my hubby has bought a Wii on ebay - it is fab. I was sceptical but since we had it pretty reasonably I'm not complaining...... the swordfighting really got my heart going! Body Magic :) I want to get just dance 2 now so I can get dancing!

If I've still got my HB left by tea time I could even add prawns - mmmmm I think thats a plan :)

Thanks! I've just driven back and I'm pretty shattered now ;) Hope to catch up on here tonight! So far here's how the weekend panned out:

Saturday:
B- 42g all bran (HB), banana, milk (HA)
D- sushi snack (1/2syn), leek and pot soup, melon, kiwi
snack- marmite cereal bar (4.5syns) very nice indeed, just very strange to bite into it and it not be sweet. Also very strange to be very satisfied with just the one! Apple and 1 werthers sweet (1.5syns),
T- beans on toast (HB), cheese (had to do this by eye, so tried to underestimate 28g HA)
pud- 1 homemade scone (made with utterly butterly so 1 syn less per scone than normal) (8syns), jam (1syn)
Total= 15.5syns
Exercise -30mins walking the dog and also extra walking around the hospital.

Sunday
B- porridge (this was bigger than my normal bowl so counting it as 2HB+1HA), banana
D- vegetable enchilada with plain rice and salad (no dressing or sour cream) (14syns, going by the sw book)
snack- 1 werthers (1.5syns)
Total syns-30.5 at the moment!
Exercise -30mins walking

Hubby wants to go out for food tonight but hasnt materialised from golf yet, so who knows! I'd prefer to have a jacket spud at home to be honest :)

We went to the harvester and it was really nice..... I had a jambalaya stack which is mostly rice and vegetables with a tomato sauce (380calories). This was served with garlic bread, which I just had a bite of, so I'm going to count it as 15syns. Again its a guess, but hopefully pretty close as I imagine at least the 80 calories would be for garlic bread. Plenty of salad cart to go with it- yummy. Home now and when our food has gone down we'll be on the Wii :)

I did have a nice weekend, but very tiring with quite alot of driving!

Here's today:
B- weetabix (HB), banana, milk in tea (HA)
D- parsnip soup, sushi (1syn), strawberries, 6 walnuts (HB)
T- omlette with onion and cheese (28g HA)
snacks- 6 werthers (9syns), 2 highlights hot chocolates (6syns), which would be 16 syns in total but then I also had a pack of go aheads (7syns) grrrrr that makes 23syns. Still within my weeks total though, so fingers crossed for weigh in tomorrow.

Exercise- 30mins walk, 60mins body jam, 60mins body balance, 30 mins Wii sports :)

The story on the go aheads...... as hubby went to get batteries for the Wii's on saturday I sent him a text to say pick up some mars ice creams (multipack ones so chocolatey and 7syns). He didnt get my text but thought he was doing well picking up the go aheads, as I picked one up I said 'I bet they're the same as mars ice cream in terms of syns' and surprise surprise they are! I have only eaten them one packet max each day but you're right I'm not to be trusted with them. Hubby knows this too, but still bought them, grrrrrr.

Well done on giving up the sweet stuff, initially its difficult but it does get easier as your tastes change :)

WI tonight! I've decided to take some measurements tonight and even if I dont get my lovely half stone sticker I can console myself with my inch loss :) (probably should have taken measurements in the morning I guess)
