Helen's quest for good health!

I'll try and shake it up but definitely no idea what to do! And not before the 1st; think that'll be an off plan day! X

I'll stick to it completely this week too and see what happens, normally I get pissed off when I've been 100% and not lost so going for it again.

Is FF that bad then?! X

I think you should stick with what you are doing Helen... Bodies are funny things... You can be as good as gold one week and you sts or even gain, the next, you can cheat and get a loss... Stick with what you are doing and wait for next weeks results... Drastic knee jerk reactions can make matters worse, I know because I go into a blue funk myself when I have been good and I gain or sts... Then I lose the plot and make stupid cutbacks in my eating then end up not being able to stick to a stricter eating plan... Keep doing your best but relax about the numbers a little, its more about eating healthy and getting a more balanced relationship with food... Look how much Kally has achieved since she stopped worrying about the scales and more about what foods are better for her... xx

It's just not really SW. I like the freedom of SW and the fact you can cook from scratch. FF is a definite last resort and I don't think you're there yet x Look at Emma! She was asking about FF but then her body started playing ball again :)

I know Kally's food always looks amazing and she's doing so well. I just worry as I need to be in control otherwise as I've admitted to you all, I binge, so if I let go a little I lose it. There's no middle ground.. It's totally in control or totally out of control!

So perhaps I do need to relax more but don't know how! When my mum started saying I was too strict (again!) the other day then I started welling up, started to tell them about why I'm strict or otherwise I binge and they didn't say anything! I wanted them to tell me it was alright and they understood! Oh well!

Thanks Chelle x

That does sound really strict, how did Elliot get on with it? I know I don't think I am there yet but I do think having only lost 6 1/2lbs in 6 months is awful!

In fact I've just looked at my book and I reached 14st 9lb (same as now) on 16th February it then took me until 5th April to lose 3lb to get my lowest ever weight, went on holiday and went back up to 15st 1 1/2lb and struggled again since so theoretically I've lost nothing since February!!

I lost 2 1/2 stone fairly quickly and then the rest has been a nightmare, once I get back from holiday again I need to sit down seriously and work out a plan of action, it will be hard with Christmas parties and over Christmas but I need to stick to plan the rest of the time and limit the damage.

Thanks everyone for your support, I really couldn't do it without all of you and would have given up a long time ago xxx

FF (IMO) is calorie counting! It's a tough week and Elliott lost 6 or 7 lbs I think but it was temporary. It's so restrictive that when you go back to SW it's quite common to have a gain the following week - which is what happened to Elliott.

I say forget the past as it's gone. Done. Don't stress about when you last weighed your current weight just stick on plan. You can't go on the last few months as you've not been totally on plan but I honestly think you've turned a corner. You're ready. So just worry about from today onwards.

YOU CAN DO IT

As for your holiday and Xmas - I don't think you'll take then as an excuse to go bonkers - I mean last year I went to Orlando and actually lost!!! And I did not stick to SW while there. I just didn't go as mad as previously.

Thanks so much, if its very low calorie I'd definitely end up putting on when coming off it then which isn't good.

Its so true I haven't totally been on plan since April until recently so just need to start afresh and not think of the past.

I might even write down what I eat whilst I'm away just so I don't go too overboard, all I do know is that I don't want a gain as big as I did in Turkey.

I'm amazed you lost in Orlando, I think I put loads on when I went and most of it was because I didn't fancy coke but they didn't have diet lemonade/sprite in the parks, should have just stuck to water!

You're so full of good advise, thank you xxx

I've had the stuff to try fast forward for weeks now have I tried it? No because it looks too damn hard!!

Helen it will come off I promise I'm a prime example of staying the same and gaining past 5 months but like you I haven't given it my all neither, the first 3 weeks I did 100% I sts gained and sts it's only last week and this week that its started playing ball and moving again, so hopefully this week was a blip and it will move again next week you know it works stick at it your body will play ball again promise :)

Ha ha sounds like FF won't ever be happening!

It's only been two or three weeks I've been doing 100% so perhaps mine will start shifting like yours has as well then, can't help but be disheartened though especially when my best mate has told me she hasn't had one day on plan this week and lost 1/2lb and another girl text to say she was expecting a massive gain lost 2lbs!

Yep this week is a blip, I can do it, thank you x

You don't really need support though as you're so good so it's a bit one sided! But I am there if you ever need me x

It's very disheartening gosh how many times have you lovely ladies had to pull me out of big black hole of disappointment! And those other ladies trust me it will catch up with them of they carry on being naughty they can only get away with it so long!

Just remember number on the scales in the grand scheme of it means nothing, the fact that we look and feel a lot better than we did a year ago is everything, keep plodding along, I'm here if you need me :)

You have supported me! Remember fascinator-gate ;)

Plus if you lot (especially Emma & Kally the food police) left me to my own devices I'd gain a load back. And quickly!

As an example, there were lovely cupcakes here earlier that I turned down as I'd have had to put it in my food diary later!!!

I'm sure it will catch up with them, one of the girls has lost over 4 1/2st since January and has over taken me and she drinks and eats out every week, Katherine has lost 1 1/2st but doesn't know how as is rarely on plan but slowly and surely wins the race.

I know you were really upset a couple of weeks ago (or was it last week?!) and you're so much more positive this week. Our bodies do weird and wonderful things and thinking about it I've gone down a hole on my belt this week so sod the scales! X

I haven't needed the food police as am now posting it religiously after telling you I would regardless of if it was good or bad, and as for the cupcakes that's the same reason I turned down the Chinese last week (when we were texting) because I didn't want to have to put it in my food diary! X

I agree :D

The main thing is Helen

For any plan to be totally successful .... You have to actually enjoy following it
ok there are faster ways to lose weight that aren't SW but ....
in venturing into other areas of Minimins I always find there's a lot of moaning lol
( is that unsympathetic ? )
they moan about being hungry .... Not be able to have so and so etc etc and basically
I always think Why !! Put yourself through it if your miserable
and what for a quick weight loss ...that'll be quick to regain

Ok SW might not give fast weight losses .... But we can eat .... Relatively normal foods
and not feel deprived too much ...we can join in with loved ones with a few tweaks and
carry on with living ..... You shouldn't have to put your life on hold to lose weight Helen
the plan should fit into your life and ok I'm the first to admit some of the SW rules are a bit daft
Syn-ing cooked fruit ( one of them ) lol but no matter about that at the end of the day
SW works ...... slowly but it works

I agree Kally x Hence I'm not synning my (totally medicinal) juice today :D

Other than the occasional daft rule. SW fits in with my life. Hence I've (on the whole) managed to stick with it :)

As long as your not drinking the bottle ;)
I mean the odd glass here and there ain't gonna hurt

It's like if I bake a pear in the oven .... It's still one pear
wether it's baked or otherwise hence silly cooked fruit rule lol

Thanks for the above, having not really experienced other diets I don't realise how easy SW is, at times I blow it but really it's just a healthy eating plan which everyone should strive to be on, the food is fab and I suppose I could tweak occasionally and not be so strict all the time, my all or nothing attitude has got to go.

I seem to be making it more a way of life than last time I did SW though and 99% of the time actually enjoy it, it's just being organised and planning that is the key.

It is slowly but at least I've maintained for a while rather than put loads on, I'll keep plodding along and let it come off at its own pace (remind me of that after a crap weigh in!) x
