Helen's quest for good health!

Mmm just made mackerel pâté, it's still chilling but dipped my finger in and it's gorgeous, can't wait to have it tomorrow, bought smoked mackerel instead of normal though so it works out about 6.0 syns for the whole lot, not sure how much I'll need to spread on toast or ryvita but have split into three so 2.0 syns per portion isn't too bad.

Thanks, I'm sure it'll be fine, just had to give into it today, been working through the pain for the last few weeks but started on the tramadol again which are making me drowsy.

Mackerel pâté is scrummy and so easy to make, can't wait until tomorrow to have it x

Had a good cry on Kev's shoulder last night, and a good chat along with it... Kev thinks Dean will sit up and take notice now I have taken a stand... He says perhaps Dean thought I was bluffing when I said I would walk away from his friendship... We'll see... I would be prepared to talk, but I am not prepared to let him continue to verbally abuse me and make me feel crap... xx

Morning Helen
Are you going to Wi tonigh? good luck if you are ,
have a good day are you are still off work? you got lots of time to read....lucky you ;-)

Aren't husbands the best? I'm getting cross here thinking about the fact I had the same situation, only don't give in if you're prepared to lose him, it was really hard with Michael and to a degree I still really miss him and find it hard not to pick up the phone but it's for the best. He didn't think I was strong enough to walk away and thought I was bluffing but when he realised I wasn't he was too stubborn to get in touch.

If there's anything you can do to salvage the friendship then do it as you feel like a part of your life is missing but if he's really dragging you down then walk away (well you have, but don't give in!) x

I won't back down this time as I am doing so well mentally these days and someone chipping away at my confidence is not a friend... I will talk to him, but the door is only open a crack... I will keep you posted...xx Btw, I lost 1lb...xx

Hey a 1lb loss is fab, well done you x

I STS last night, quite pleased with that but want to be properly back on track this week, have meal planned and shopped so hoping I can stick to plan.

Only spanner in works may be Monday night when we are going on a chocolate workshop where you get to taste different types then make something which you get to bring home.. Guessing you don't get to taste that much though so I'll try to limit the amount of syns I have other days.

Meat is marinating in fridge overnight for our curry night tonight (Mark wanted takeaway but I said no so instead of just making one curry tonight I'm doing started of tandoori lamb followed by chicken biriani and chickpea dahl), bought some chapatti's too so going to have one of those.

Anyone know where I can find tamarind paste as Tesco don't stock it? Or what I can use as an alternative?

Appointment with consultant again today so another day off work unfortunately x

Well done on your STS :)

Your plan for the week sounds fab x If you keep syns low other days then the chocolate trip should be fine.

Hope the consultant appt goes well :)

Hi girls, thanks for your well wishes, consultant wants me to have injections in my hip joint guided in by x-ray to see if that alleviates any pain, when I had the arthrogram before MRI I was in agony so hopefully this isn't as bad but if it helps to find out what's wrong then that's the main thing. Just got to wait for appointment to come through now as still waiting for NHS referral (today was paid for by BA again but not sure how much they're going to do as originally they said they'd only do physio). Here's hoping its not too long.

I'm now going to attempt to make a roulade thanks to Lisa, fingers x'd it comes out okay!
