Help needed for 1st day......

aww look at them all crashed out...wee souls :)

it's the wholegrain crackerbread that have been removed - so would still be able to have ryvits. but i liked that you could have 6 of them...or 3 for half - you know how i like the half my HE's lol

crunchie was great. now gonna get my stuff sorted for the morning and soup ready just to be heated before work etc...never ending when it comes to food or preparation to be on plan eh hehe x

That is so true. I'm out to lunch today so didn't need to get soup and a roll ready. We are having Thai and I have already checked out the menu. In on EE today so going for a chicken pad Thai or a chicken pad see ewe. (Both are pretty similar lol). The only syns are for the oil used to cook it and oil in the noodles. I've looked it up and it's 5 syns from what I can find.

Breakfast is some porridge for a change since it's cold now and it should fill me up. I've also got a yoghurt and a mugshot for later on just on case the Thai doesn't fill me up (I would usually have a curry when I have Thai but it's so many syns lol).

Dinner is in the slow cooker getting ready for tonight. It's Chinese style pork and I'm going to serve it with it (might grab some eggs and do egg fried rice). The sauce has syns though - it's 2 tablespoons of sugar (4 syns) and three table spoons of ketchup (3 syns) and the rest of the ingredients are syn free. So in total it's 3.5 syns each. Not bad for what will hopefully be really yummy.

So looks like my total for the day will be 8.5 syns. I haven't got any treats in so not sure what to use the other syns on but I'm sure I'll think of something for 6.5 syns lol.

What's your food plan today?! How many ryvita do you get for a hex?! Is it possible to halve the amount like you would for cracker bread?!

dinner sounds good...i've never had thai food though...not sure if i'd like it.

oooh what could you use the rest of your syns on?? ;)

you get 4 of the original or dark rye ryvita for a heb...i usually half those and have 2 and there are others which you're allowed but some are 3 so would depend which one you wanted.

today's been ok for me...having a hungry day and kinda wish i'd had pasta or something at lunch as my wee sandwich didn't do much....typical eh - i take lots and some days i bring it all home, today i finished my soup and everything and i NEVER do that! (to be fair it was a cupful if you're lucky lol) x

well at least there is some sort of cracker type thing you can eat - and still easy to have half a hex!

Thai food is very much like chinese so if you like that, chances are you will like thai. Its a bit more spicy than chinese but there are dishes you can have which arent spice at all (like the one i had today). The thai curries tend to have a lot of spice and coconut milk in them....really nice though. Its my favourite takeaway by far - i would def recommend it. If you decide to take the plunge you should get something like a pad thai (rice noodles with egg, spring onions, beansprouts and meat of your choosing cooked in soy sauce) and a curry. Do you like spicy food? If you dont like too much spice go for a gren curry (in the uK - if you are in Thailand green is the hottest!!!) but if you like a bit more spice then i always have a yellow curry or panang. *drool*

I am pleased to say that despite mild peer pressure, i resisted the sides that my friend ordered (prawn toast and spring rolls) and just stuck to what i had budgeted for. I didnt even have any prawn crackers!!

I have bought some penguin biscuits from sainsburys for my syns :) they are 5.5 per bar and a really decent amount of chocolate. when i started last time i was using my syns on these all the time to try and satisfy my choc craving. I am going to hide them from bf as well as they will disappear pretty quickly if he knows i have them!!

I thought i would be hungry today but have been ok with just porridge and thai. I will have some fruit on the way home (found a nice fruit stall on the way to the office with fruit cheaper than the sainsburys so got 10 nectarines for £1.50!!) that will last me til i have dinner (after doing my exercise eeeeekkkkk!!!!!)

that's fab on the fruit! i think it's good if i get a punnet of 4 or 5 nectarines for £1 lol.
what else did they have?

i'm slowly going off the fruit from aldi, it's great money wise but if it's not the best quality, i'm finding i end up throwing stuff out and i'd rather pay a wee bit more not to waste any.
i got bananas and they were all lovely and white, no black bits at all but the whole middle of the banana was rotten....on every one! :(
gonna keep an eye on it but things like that bug my happiness lol.

the thai sounds nice, i don't like too spicy but the pad thing sounds like i might like it...

not sure what to have for dinner...maybe meat free burger or linda mc sausages i think but not decided and i didn't take anything out the freezer :-/

i like penguins but not had one for ages...i know you like them and i actually got my OH a packet of aldi's version which are pretty much the same but cheaper...not sure on the syns though.
he goes thru loads of biscuits at work and i agree that you should hide them from your OH hehe x

The fruit man had bowls of mixed fruit for £1 (apples, oranges, plums etc), bunches of grapes, bananas, loose apples, oranges, peaches.....loads of stuff. I'm eating a nectarine ATM and it's good quality too. I had to take apples back to sainsburys yesterday as I bit into one and it was rotten (yuk!!)

I don't buy much fruit from aldi but I do like the veg and salad bits. I guess they do it so cheap because it's nearly past it's date?? Ill bear in mind to keep a check on that once I start going regularly.

My sister has decided to start SW again from next week. Will be really good for her I hope (and she can buy my hifi bars yay) lol

oh that'll be handy for you ;)
i hear there's a new one out for xmas (xmas pudding maybe - don't quote me though cos i wasn't there on monday)
i just stick to the ones i know i like.

i always try to check the fruit cos i find things like cherries and blueberries always have the odd one that's mouldy but with things like bananas, it's hard to tell. i don't get the tangerines cos i'm always wary they'll be naff.

ended up with linda mc sausages, boiled potatoes and beans for dinner...was ok i guess but i'm just not keen on those sausages....the tomato sauce helps disguise the taste a bit tho ;) x

Yeah it is Xmas pudding. I saw someone post that earlier today!!

My pork recipe went down a treat - it was really yummy and loads of sauce. I served it with noodles sort of like a broth/noodle soup. Yum!! So glad I have a slow cooker now - looking forward to more experiments :)

I had my penguin with a cuppa and enjoyed every last bit of it. What treats are you in for tonight?!

I'm pleased to report that I did my exercise DVD :) it was hard and I think my legs will ache tomorrow but I'm really pleased I made myself do it. I'm going to see how I feel tomorrow and if I can move ill do it again. If not I'll skip Tomorrow and do it Friday! Maybe try and get a run in over the weekend if it's not raining.

glad you enjoyed dinner...do you think you'll make it again?
daim bar for me tonight for 7.5 and some crisps. with ketchup and pickle, i'm at 13.5 for the day but i've just made a mugshot cos i'm hungry and ready to make my way through to the goody cupboard!
not what i'd usually be doing at this time of night but seeing as i'm not in bed yet, it is a safer option lol

i got my OH a big piece of mars bar cake this afternoon and i've hidden it in his bag for work tomorrow....i so wanted to eat it seeing as he didn't know it existed...wish my period would hurry up and arrive (not that i'll be saying that when i'm in agony and being sick lol) but it might just help with my cravings to eat junk....or it could just be that i'm hungry and it sounds so much more convenient!

ahh the challenges sometimes eh x

Yes I would def make it again. Tonight I am having left over curry from Monday that I didn't end up having as bf is going our for dinner with his dad. I didn't want to go because I think eating out once a week is enough when I'm trying to stay on plan - I don't want to throw temptation into my path. So I have a high syn dinner tonight of 12.5 which means no crisps for me at lunch :( lol

I've roughy porridge and a yoghurt for breakfast, soup, nectarines and another yoghurt for lunch. Hoping it will be enough as I already feel pretty hungry today but I do have a mugshot in my desk that I can have if i need to.

I don't feel too achy from the DVD (yet) which is good. I'm going to give it a go again tonight. You are meant to do it every day for 30 days but after two days my arms hurt so much I can't physically do the press ups lol. So maybe do it today and have a rest on Friday :)

Maybe it is due to your period that you have been feeling more hungry than usual the last few days. Funny how this kind of thing affects us all differently and in so many painful ways. Just make sure you have extra syn free goodies with you to make sure you don't stray off plan and it will run its course in a few days I'm sure.

I'm gearing my head towards shopping lists for the weekend now and starting to hunt out some good recipes. Stew and dumplings is a must!! Lol

What's your day looking like?!

12.5 for dinner? hope it's nice cos you could have a take away for that...and you've eaten out for less lol but i get what you mean...when we're out there are always things that are tempting!

good for you on the dvd...i forgot i was to nag you about it ;)

i'm shattered this morning....number 1 son decided to waken me at 5.30 to tell me he couldn't sleep...i woke and he was in with me (he said i told him it was ok?? lol) and then proceeded to inform me he couldn't sleep until he passed out and i couldn't get him up when the alarm went off...typical eh.

EE for me today, got chicken out for dinner and might do a pasta bake recipe that i saw on slimming eats for dinner. thinking maybe subways salad at lunch depending if i have time to go for it x

I know 12.5 is a lot and usually I wouldn't use that many on a dinner but in the endeavour to eat down the freezer, it needs to go!! I have one more portion of it left as well which I'm going to try and get bf to eat lol.

Tbh a few weeks ago I would have eaten it but just not counted it and had a day off plan so I'm pleased that I'm being disciplined and doing it properly. But it doesn't leaves me with much that I can do with the rest of my syns so ill prob just end up on 12.5 for the day or using some for cups Of tea at work (hexa will be the milk on my porridge)

Another reason for not going is that I won't do the DVD if I go out as I won't have time to fit it in before we go.

I have a subway near my office - I must try a salad one day since you say how nice they are.

you're sound really motivated and it's good that you've thought about fitting the dvd in too.
would you be able to half the last portion and take some for lunch one day?

the salad deal (for the chicken breast one) is £4 and you get a drink too. i went for one and added some chicken pieces which needed to be used and a piece of dahl loaf crumbled over it so can't wait to tuck into it (have already picked so i'm smelling lovely and oniony for this time of the day lol) and i know we could make it ourself for a fraction of the price but it feels nice having a syn free "take away" in a sense.
maybe i should keep the bowl thing and do it myself one time...but i like the sweet onion dressing....haven't tried any others.
i suppose we could use our own but i'm not sure it would have the same appeal x

I do feel quite motivated but wish i'd had a bath instead of a shower after last night to relax my muscles a bit lol. they are starting to twinge lol. but i shall do my best to stretch out before and after and get it done tonight....i need to learn to love the pain haha.

aww i think you are entitled to treat yourself to a subway salad every now and then....you are so virtuous usually you are practically wearing a halo
:angel09:

You could make your own but i dont see anything wrong with what you are doing in having one to treat yourself every now and then.. its better than treating yourself to a MacDonalds lol. I wonder if you could get a recipe for the dressing or buy a pot from them though?!

i know..i was thinking that cos there's a baguette express near by too and they do salads...i figured i could've got one from there and asked for some of the sauce...but i dunno if they would be keen if i walked in with something from elsewhere lol.

get a soak in the bath tonight...that might help...but at least you know it's working;) x

Next time you get a salad, ask for the recipe?! It might be online somewhere?! Ill def have a soak tonight or won't be able to walk tomorrow lol

oooh yay!
dunno if i'd give it a go but it's def worth thinking about eh ;)

what a day i've had...it's just been hectic, non stop and can't believe the time! i'm so behind schedule and not long had my dinner!

made a pasta bake type thing which was nice...my little one asked for a taste and liked and so i'm super impressed and happy cos i could make it for us all and whizz the sauce so he couldn't see all the veg!

how's your day been?x

It's not been too bad. I did my DVD yay!! :) feeling very pleased with myself actually hehe! Looking forward to a rest day tomorrow and then a run on Saturday. Then see how dead I feel on Sunday and if I can manage it ill do the DVD again. Hopefully the run will loosen my muscles up a bit.

Dinner was nice but I don't really feel satisfied tbh. I'm going to have a nectarine and another cup of tea which will take me to 14.5 for the day. Although it's a nice feeling to have been home, had dinner and a soak in the bath already and it's only 9:15.

My day seems to have been more chilled than yours!! Why so hectic?

It's really good that your little one liked the pasta :) less hassle for you at dinner time!

i know!
i'd planned to make the recipe for 4 and keep some but my OH had eaten so i just did half and there was loads anyway. i didn't even offer him any but he asked to try and i'd missed a few ingredients out cos i didn't have them (lol) but he asked to try a bit of pasta on it's own 1st then a bit of chicken and said he liked it.

i have 1 portion left which i was going to keep for lunch tomorrow but i'll shove it in the freezer and that'll do a lunch on an EE day (which i don't do often when i'm working) so that'll be good for a change and next time, i can make it up for 4 but make the sauce smooth and voila...hopefully he tuck in!
i'm super excited at the thought he might consume some freshly prepared from scratch, home cooking packed with veg! lol

hectic as i had a few things on but it's made the day go quick and i've not eaten much.
had a wee bowl of berries & yog for breakfast, salad at lunch and that pasta bake for dinner. will have an orange hifi instead of chocolate so if i have some crisps (if lol) then it'll only be 6.5 syns for the day... :-O

if you're all worked out and bathed for this time, you gonna head to bed early?x
