Help needed for 1st day......

Yep. I'm just folding up some towels and hanging the washing up then I'm straight to bed!! Zzzzzzz

Fish n chips for us for dinner tomorrow SW style :) can't wait!!

i've yet to do something with fish...a proper piece of fish i mean.
one day...maybe one day eh lol x

Do you like any fish?! You could get something simple like cod fillet and oven bake it with some herbs on?! I've done fish parcels a few times and put herbs and spices, onion and garlic over plain fish and it comes out quite nice actually.

Or a fish pie is quite nice? But it depends what fish you like. When you are feeling brave enough to try cooking it you will wonder what the hesitation was lol.

i know.
i like basic stuff...so the cod would be an idea and i've picked the bag of frozen fillets up a few times...but just put them down again lol.

discovered today that aunt bessies carrot and suede is syn free...woo hoo...i love that!
so it's bought and in the freezer already...think i'll do red today and have that with some sausages, onion and gravy for dinner...mmmm

how's your plan for today?x

ooohh that sounds like great comfort food for an autumn day!

Why not get a fresh piece of cod from the counter - you can get a small bit and make sure you have lots of superfree with it in case you arent keen?! then if you like it, buy a bag of them for the freezer? I'll find a nice recipe for you to try :)

Food today is going fine - although i am raging with hunger for some reason! I had a nectarine for brekkie and a skinny cappucino (got a free one from Neo) which as far as I can remember is about a hexa worth of milk. I didnt get choc on top. Lunch was veggie soup, quavers (4.5) and a yoghurt. I am still really hungry so might also have my mugshot as i have back to back meetings from 2 o'clock. then fish n chips for dinner with mushy peas (and more veg if i am still this hungry!!)

I have a friend coming over later on and usually she brings biscuits and french fanices (OMG i love them!!!) but i have told her i am on SW and will try to find something we can eat that is healthier. So i am thinking fruit, yoghurt and meringues (cant remember how many syns the big ones are but i will check) as i will have enough syns for something like that!

ooh i like french fancies too...mmm why did you mention them lol

good idea on the fish, the bag i saw had 4 pieces in it which i'm sure would get used in one way or another

when you mentioned fish pie, it reminded me of an old recipe i had years ago (a scottish slimmers meal) where you make up some bisto cheese sauce (dunno if you can even still get that?) add tuna and sweetcorn, top it with slices of tomato and crush a packet of square crisps (or normal) over the top.

when i 1st saw it i thought eugh! but i really liked it and used to make it all the time.
that's about the only fish pie i've ever had to be honest, but i might go on the search for something and there's bound to be loads that are sw friendly?

if you had nutella and ryvita, you could whizz up some of the ferrero rocher type things? i love those!x

I have never made a fish pie but I think I might give it a try as well.

I have made them before but with normal chocolate spread as I can't have Nutella (but allergy). Love them but find them a bit addictive haha

So my plans for a run this morning are in hold as my sisters boiler has broken and her little ones need a bath! So I am going to do my cleaning etc today and swap running to tomorrow. I am def doing one this weekend though!!

Not sure on food plans as I might be going out with friends so I am going to keep it syn free just in case and do EE. What's on your menu?!

oh what a shame about your sister's boiler...hope she gets its sorted soon...but bonus that you get some extra time with your nieces eh ;)

today is EE for me i think, not got a clue about food so far though...i've had fruity cous cous and that's as far as i've got lol

good luck with the run x

So yesterday was a bit hit and miss! I went for lunch and managed to avoid the massive platters everyone else was sharing. The best I could do was a wrap (but it was WM so I was going to count that as my hexb) with chicken, bacon and avovado. (4.5 syns as it was just about under half a one in there). I got them to leave out all of the dressings they normally put in. I also had one forkful of the coleslaw (1 syn I guess). I also stuck to diet coke.

But then we ended up going back to a friends house and I had a twirl with a cuppa and some crisps out of a share bag. I dread to think the syns in all that considering I only had 10.5 left - the twirl prob took all of that so I was over on the crisps.

Feel like an idiot after a really good week :(

I've tried to work out syns and counted 15 for the crisps. Over the week that means if I only have 10 today it will add up to 105 for weekly syns.

Think I'll have to try and do that and hope I haven't ruined it all :(

aww you might not have....lots of people do their syns weekly and get on ok.
were there any days through the week when you didn't use them all up meaning that you had some to play with?

i think one of the good things about the way we eat on sw is that we still include crisps, chocolate and biscuits etc in our daily lives so if there are times that we have more than we should, then it's not as much of a shock to our body in the sense that on some eating plans, that would knock you for 6 and your body would store all that in a crazy way.
yes you've eaten more syns than we're advised to, but if you pull back a bit today and drink plenty, you might be pleasantly surprised?

don't beat yourself up over it chick :)

i'm not sure what to expect for WI tomorrow. didn't goto class last week and have been on plan but star week STILL hasn't made an appearance and i can barely sleep for stressing about the what ifs! lol

remind me of this if by telling you i've tempted fate and i develop the sickness and agony of mother nature....never wanted it more! lol.

usually do a red day on a sunday before WI but i'm hungry and tempted to do green today? not sure but i did red on friday and if i had been more organised food wise for today, i wouldn't be considering a change....x

Yeah I had 5 syns left over so as long as I stick to 10 today I will be ok I hope.

Still got to go for a run but thought I would get my cleaning done while bf is out of the house. So when he gets back we will go food shopping and get the car cleaned (because he was sick in it last night after drinking too much on an empty stomach - absolutely fuming!!!) then ill go for a run.

I'm hungry too as I haven't got any Bleedin food in haha. Might do a roast depending on what I can pick up at aldi! Ill prob go EE today.

Yeah but I'm not feeling sorry for him lol.

Just had a lovely roast for dinner and I really don't want to have to move now lol. Haven't had any syns yet today other than some gravy so I'm going to have a nice cuppa and a penguin for 5.5 mmmmmm!!

How has your day been?

it's been ok thanks, your roast sounds lovely and i'm sure your biccy with a cuppa will be lush!

had a chicken salad while we were out so thought i was gonna have to go EE but i've used the chicken as my HE so it's green.
made philly quorn pasta with peppers, onion, mushrooms, sweetcorn, broccoli, carrots and peas so it's been a day packed with superfree :D

not sure how WI will be tomorrow...dunno why but i'm kinda nervous? think it's cos it's been so up and down the last wee while that i'm not sure what to expect and i kinda don't want to go if it means i'll come away disheartened?

got a mini ripple and beef space raiders to have when we settle...can't wait for the ripple...i wrote it down last night cos i knew that's what i was to have tonight lol

how's the car...is your OH still in the bad books?x

You are prob just a bit nervous as you didn't go last week and you are worried about star week. Try not to stress out about it and just see what happens. Is this the first time you have skipped a week?

I'm half dreading and half looking forward to weighing in the morning. I def feel less bloated after a week on plan and hope that I have a loss of any kind. I didn't get time to get my run in after trying to get the car cleaned up among the other stuff I had planned today. Bit disappointed as I was so determined to get one in but I'll get back on the DVD tomorrow as soon as I get in from work. I'm going spinning on Friday with my friend - we are going to make it a regular thing as she gets a friend for free on Fridays. Lucky me :)

Penguin was lovely but what was even nicer was that bf went to the shop for goodies and brought me back 4 mini Milky Way bars (4.5 each) so I could have another great while we watched a new programme we recorded. (Guilty conscience?!?!) anyway today ended up being a good day so let's see what tomorrow brings!!

ooh put the milky ways in the freezer and they'll last even longer ;)
that was nice of him tho...bonus!

i'm hoping that mrs nature has just decided she wanted a week extra? it's the 1st time in a while i've been late but never this long...a day or 2 either side but i kinda need it to appear so i can make a smear app (oh the joys) i've had them every 6 months for a while cos i had one that came back with changes so you get them every 6 months until you get 3 negative in a row...i got one clear then the next one showed changes again so it's back to the start. the last one was clear so i need 2 more before i goto yearly checks...just need to wait and see but i like to make the app bang in the middle of my cycle so the sooner it makes an appearance, the sooner i can make an app for 2 weeks time....bloody palava eh..but i'd never skip them!

great news on the spinning. i've only gone to a class once before. thought it was ok...until i could barely walk up or down the stairs the following day pmsl.

i need to take some stuff back to tesco in the morning so i'll prob have a cheeky WI and then goto class (or not) based on that? dunno if it's a bad idea or not but i had a gain 2 weeks ago (unjustified) and i don't really want another one noted if you know what i mean?
i know i've had almost 2 full weeks on plan (apart from the hen weekend) but surely it'll be ok?

i'm loving that the selection boxes are out now...the small ones are usually 2 for £1.50 and it's the ones with treat size buttons, crunchie and curly wurly plus a chomp and a fudge....great that i can get stuff and syn it..and put the bigger sweets in my little ones' goody box ;)

heading to bed soon i think. have chicken out the freezer for tomorrow's dinner so will have a think about what to do with it x

Morning hun! The milky ways are safe in my treats tin but i never thought about freezing them actually. Must give it a go with one and see how it is.

I hope Mother Nature stops mucking you around as well. I had a bit if a funny one last time too (barely there at all) but only a week to go til next one so I'll wait and see what happens there. It's awful that something like this can cause so much worry when it could just be your body being stressed making it different to usual. Not that you ever seem to have a 'usual' :(

Totally get where you are coming from with the smear stuff. I had to have a mini operation last year as I had abnormal cells and have to go yearly for a few years to check. The one I had after the op was borderline so they are just keeping a check on things. It's amazing how common this sort of problem is - once you start asking around tons of people have it. I would never skip one either - it's only 5 minutes embarrassment and totally worth the check!

Oh god I'm dreading spinning now If I won't be able to walk after haha. Still it should mean a loss next week!

I'm gonna give you a lecture now (don't hate me). I think you should go to class to get weighed and dot weigh at tesco. There was a good reason why you didn't go last time but you shouldn't get into the habit or mindset that you don't want to go if you are expecting a gain. It doesn't matter if a gain is recorded or not - sometimes people have gains when they don't deserve them and it's support from group that can often give you new ideas and help think of things that might be hindering you. The important thing is that you are losing weight and eating healthy to take care of yourself, not what someone writes in your book. I'm sorry if you think this is out of line but I just worry that you will get into the habit of skipping class every few weeks just because you are worried.

It's not like you to be like this hun. Why are you so sure that it will be a gain?! You are usually so positive even if you have a gain and have done so amazingly well. You should be really proud of yourself. Go to class, take whatever it is on the chin. It is what it is....remember?! ;)

I weighed this morning and I have had a loss despite the stupid crisps. Last time I hopped on the scales I was half dressed but the number started with a 10 rather than a 9 (never happened before!). I hopped off them before reading the rest of it so I was hoping to be back in the 9's. I'm now 9.10 1/2 so that's 3.5 off. I'm really happy with that.

I didn't even think about buying selection boxes for the little bars....what a fab idea. Do they have the calories written on them even though they are mini and in a multipack?! I love this idea!! Would be hard to be disciplined though since I haven't got kids to feed the big bits too - bf will have to have them!!

I'm going to do red today. I've got some turkey steaks out for dinner and I'm going to do them In a stir fry. Bf can have rice with his but I fancy the extra hexs today. I did my food shop yesterday so I have some cereal bars and fresh mango for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch with cherry toms and fruit. My crisps are skips which are 4 syns so plenty for me to have a treat later.

Are you having a cooking day today?! You could do chicken wrapped in bacon and cheese with BBQ sauce. I think I got that recipe from you when I did it and it was lovely. You could do SW chips with it and some veg or salad for super free?!

hey you...

thanks for the lecture...i don't think you're out of order at all, and to be honest, you're right!

mother nature is here...well...a bit lol and i feel like sh1t already so it's a good sign right?? we're kinda chasing our tail this morning cos i woke about 6 ish then fell asleep again and proceeded to snooze my alarm 3 times, teeny slept through his for half an hr so to be honest, i shouldn't really be here just yet but i'll make it quick.

i'm sure the selection boxes have the calories on them, if not, they have the one with 10 items in them and that one definitely does.

re the smear, i was surprised at how common it was too...but it fills me with dread every time i get the letter in although i always explain this to the nurses and they're always fab in reassuring that if it was something serious, we'd be whipped in straight away!
how was the procedure you had to get...was it sore?

cooking is planned for the day but maybe later than usual? once i do the school run, i need to try and stomach some food so i can take tablets which is tricky cos i feel sick already...but if i take the tablets just now, i'll def be sick :(

good shout on the hunters chicken...i had thought about that but will see how it goes later :)

post later mrs, i better get going the now, hope you're ok x

ahh i am relieved for you that mother nature is here (although hope you arent feeling too poorly today). I'm feeling really tired but had a skinny cappucino again this morning for my first hexa as i had another free voucher so that will kick in soon. Which is good as i have one of those days with lots of horrid fiddley and annoying things to do. grrrrrr.

I am with you on the dread of having the letter from the docs about smears etc....if it was that serious they would call you straight in. The procedure I had was called loop diathermy - they give you a local anaesthetic (by injection into your cervix) and then heat a wire loop to mark the area the need to remove, then cut away the abnormal cells and then seal it with the heated loop again to stop it bleeding. It sounds awful and tbh it wasn't particularly nice and did hurt a bit but I would rather have that then what could happen if they didnt do it. Bf came with me to hold my hand and they show what they are doing on a big screen so he watched the whole thing lol.

Glad that you are geared up for WI now (and maybe the fact that you are running a bit behind will mean you dont have time for tesco weigh in anyway lol). I am hoping to get bf to cook the stir fry tonight while I do my dvd so that we can eat quickly!
