how do you lose 2 thirds of your self?

Well done on the self-control :) I shall google the HALT technique too.

Shall give the soup a go on wednesday, got a day off then and a green day planned. I'll have to remember to save an apple back - going to do a late night batch of stewed apple shortly as got a surplus which is attracting pesky fruit flies  Looking forward to ready bread with cinnamon stewed apples and plums in the morning :D

Is there another work meeting planned or will they leave you alone for a couple of weeks now if you're covered by a sicknote? x

Morning sweetie, sorry just re-read what I wrote the other day and I do come across as bossy don't I :giggle:, not meant that way, just making suggestions, as Lo so adeptly put it, experiment and see what works for you, I find the more syns I use the more weight I loose, if i go lower on syns then my weight loss gets lower...crazy but worth a try.
Your Halt system (Hungry, Lonely, Angry or Tired) sounds like the technique they taught me when I was giving up smoking, which was to stop and seriously think about it and consider every factor, if that and a glass of water didn't curb it, then seemingly nothing would, only for me it did every time....Thankfully
:wow: Good luck on your trip to Costco, oh and could you pick up some smooth Skippy Peanut Butter for me while you're there seeing as you and Miss LoChan got me hooked on it again  :giggle:
Hope you have a great day sweetie xxxxxxxxx

I got the halt technique from here on the
bring your head the body will follow section.
Basically it is as lily described questioning why you are eating are you Hungry,Angry,Lonely or Tierd is the actual thing but basically its a trigger to make you think about what you are doing. Reminds you that if if hunger is not the problem food is not the answer.
so yesterday i questioned myself all day and had a drink before eating anything.

My next meeting is in 4 weeks but hopefully i will be able to give them a return date. My GP| feels i should complete the 6 wk counselling before returning cos my job is very stressful and she feels it wouldn't be a good idea at present. I make a big thing about it cos i am worried people think i am sciving:confused:

Hey hun, I found and still do find the Halt technique a really good one to use it definitely helps makes you think instead of just reaching, that's why I have found it a lot easier to stick to plan this time, I am sure of it. Glad you find it helpful too, when I was giving up smoking Judith my smoking clinic counsellor, suggested it might work for the cigarette cravings and it did, so have continued to use it for weight loss too.
I am sure people don't think you're sciving, but even if they do, as I always say to my girls if you are always honest with yourself, it really doesn't matter a jot what anyone else thinks.
6 weeks counselling :wow: is that all, boy how things have changed, I initially was supposed to have a 12 week course when I had mine 15 years ago, but then as my counsellor felt I needed more we just took it from there, ended up being close on 2 years albeit the last 2 sessions were spaced out over 6 months as I had a major breakthrough about 18 months in, but then you are a lot further ahead in your confidence levels than I was after such a short time, I had to take time off work at first but went back after a few months, wish I hadn't I was a care worker at the time and it was so hard, so I'd agree with the doctor, don't go back till you feel you can do the job and more importantly yourself, justice. xxxxxxxxxxx

Its being paid for by the trust i work for, it was quicker to do it this way. Initially they fund 6 sessions but the counseller can extend it at her discretion, she has already mentioned that it probably will need extending.
I just worry a lot and don't really take time off often.

Hey hun, hope you're having a lovely day at your Mum and Dad's...speak soon xxxx

 hmmmm not entering a weight for this week cos need new scales!!!!
mine have offered me 2 possibilities today. 1 i would like to believe 1 i definatly don't !!!!!
the first the one i like is 14 7:D:D:D:D
but alas it lies, the other makes me 28 4 which makes 18 lb heavier than last week :eek::eek::eek: and it better be lying !!!:mad::mad:
They acted up a few weeks ago and i put new battries in them. and they have been ok the will weigh up to 31 st so its not an overload thing !!!
I think they are dead ! long live the scales !!! so now i need some new ones which will have to wait a few days cos cheap ones are no good and i only make purcheses like this at the end of the month once bills are paid.

My decision is to just continue as i am and look forward to the scales recording a good loss once i get some new ones.

Never fear i have not given in, I will not give in but i definatly have not gained 18lbs this week. syns were higher at the beginning of the week and i would have accepted a sts but not an 18 lb gain !!!!!!!

ok rant over !!!

counselling today focused on relationships mainly marraige and was just as traumatic.

Again turned me inside out, nothing that can't be fixed but changes have to be made. I do feel that my life is being turned upside down. It is obviously my time to make change, i just hope the people around me can accept the change and grow with me. Its very scary:hide:
Its fear of this change that is holding me back and causing the fear of leaving the house. Time to meet it head on i think and take hold of my life:sigh:

:hug99: Sorry your scales have died r.i.p. :giggle: but with each death comes a birth...I don't believe this Jackie but we even have the same scales, this is getting scary lol....
Mandy I am sure your family will accept the changes you are making as it will help you, you talk about them with such love and affection, they must be wonderful people and undoubtedly love you ...I really admire you and your determination, I look back and I just wish I had been half as determined and as strong as you are ...I really am proud of you and admire you so much xxxxxxxxxx

Oh and I forgot to add....my daughter always says she doesn't care what she weighs she wants to get to a size that suits her ...so who cares what the scales say and I have to say I actually agree :8855: xxxxxxxx
