How to lose half your body weight in 10 days (Or a bit longer!)

Aww thanks guys.

Re mum, I do just let her get on with it. I know she is really looking forward to both lunch and tea tonight and she is busy with the architect now so she can't snack all day. She keeps the house SO hot and still says she is cold while we are all sweltering so I dunno if it is the cold weather. It is rotten though, it is the tummy clenching hunger that I am getting :( I know it can't be empty, I keep filling it! That said I wasn't bad on Sunday, which was a green day and we are having another green day today. Maybe I will do red and green next week. I really need to plan it!

I hope she gets it under control hun. What she was eating when losing weight sounds really dangerous. We have diabetics in our group. They're about as nutty and naughty as the non-diabetics! I know they get another booklet so she must tell her c she is diabetic. Is she going to the same class as you or a different one?

Laura you are doing so well this week. I figure if I gain this week it is ok, I won't punish myself, I am only eating when hungry (cue tummy rumble) and I am stopping when full. Only supper on Sunday didn't have 1/3rd superfree but I did snack on carrots all day and had a satsuma while making it. So if you aye when hungry qnd stopped when satisfied don't feel guilty for having more sw quiche. :)

Nate and I both have a cold now so it was a late breakfast for us. 2 boiled eggs (each!) With soldiers (heb1) and half a two of butter (1 syn), a pear and a banana. I'm using hea1 on milk in tea and I don't know if I will have hea2 or not, it depends how hungry I get I guess! Lunch is made (yummy tomato, veg and lentil soup, with extra veg) and the burger mix for the veggie burgers is in the fridge chilling. We will have it with sw chips and salad and use heb2 on a wholemeal roll. Veggie burgers have chickpeas, a potato, an egg, curry powder, garlic, fresh coriander, carrot, pepperdew peppers, spring onions, and 1 tap of baking powder in for the whole mix. It says 1 carrot but I use two, and i use hot curry powder and hot peppers instead of the medium/mild suggested. All basics we always have in and super Yum. I have a mango that needs eating so I think I will chop that up with natural yogurt should I want it later (half for me, half for Nate as mum and dad don't like fresh mango, and the skin for the dog who LOVES it)

Ooh your food for today sounds lovely! The OH tried to make SW rice pudding with mango from the Christmas magazine but it didn't turn out very well (I think he used tbsps of cinnamon and nutmeg rather than tsps). The mango was gorgeous though! I felt really bad leaving it but it just wasn't very nice. I think maybe the cinnamon was off too.

My Nanna is going to a different group - I must get mum to nudge her and make sure she's told the C about her diabetes. I think she just carries on regardless - she's sort of in denial about it. Her last check up was pointless because they just praised her for all the weight she'd lost and that her blood sugar was lower, not taking into consideration why.

I am refreshed to see how many different foods Nate eats. A woman at work commented on my weight loss yesterday and said she used to go to SW but quit because the children wouldn't eat what she ate. Now, I don't have children and I know there are limits (I wouldn't touch mushrooms as a child, my brother wouldn't eat onions which must have been a nightmare) but she could still serve her children something SW friendly, surely? Obviously I didn't say this to her. Even if you did 2 out of 3 meals on plan you'd at least damage-limit. My OH eats what he likes and only has vaguely the same as me at dinner but with extra cheese/mayo/meat - and he's still lost 2" off his waist! Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you sound like a brilliant mummy.

I second that... its great how he eats so many different things

my mum brought me and the sibs up on beans chips and spam.. 3 of us are away from home now but the other two live off pot noodles and wont try anything... my brother turned his nose up at a pigs in blanket from the butchers its mad xx

I'm not a big fan of rice pudding in general, and SW rice pudding even less so. I find with puddings beyond fruit and yogurt and jelly, if I want pudding I might as well use my syns properly and have something good. We get told to use our syns like money, in that case I will buy something of quality rather than go cheap and not really like it. SW puds tend to just taste of sweet egg. blargh.

I think they tend to ask if you are diabetic. My C asked me, and asked if I was breast-feeding and I didn't know why she was asking that (I had Nate with me but it didn't twig until she said there was a tweak for breast feeding mums).

Nate didn't have the soup (although he wanted it) or the veggie burgers because they are both rather spicy and he did get a fiery hole one time, he does love those burgers. So he got a couple of fish fingers. Feeling poorly he just kind of picked at it. He had the same sides as us though. He can be a pain, and some days he barely eats and other days he is very hungry. I started off home-making purees. Then I got annoyed cooking for ages for him to turn his nose up, made even more difficult by his need to be constantly held by me. I started to give him some jarred stuff to take the pressure off a bit, but anything more than completely pureed he would gag and throw up. Then one day he grabbed a potato from my plate and started munching, so I just went on with baby led weening (as though I had a choice!) so it has made him a little more adventurous I guess because he has what we have mostly - whether it is on my plate or his! You wouldn't have said I was a good mum if you saw me yelling at him earlier! Getting on my last nerve having me up and down all night, barely napped and then trying to break everything. Grr.

Ta Emma. How old is your daughter again? Nate tends to get what he is given and if he won't eat it he can go hungry (so cruel for a 1 year old!) If he is just being a pain he can whistle while chattering for a biscuit or choc-choc! but if it is something he really doesn't like, or is spicy, he gets something a bit different.

He'd happily live on chips, egg and beans if he had his way trust me! and he isn't a fan of meat so I just try to sneak it in

Well I have barely snacked today. Just had a 0% shape yogurt and a kitkat because I had only had one syn so far. So it seems green days work quite nicely. I suspect a small gain just because of the constant hunger for the other 5 days this week! Doing red and green Thursday onwards and we've picked out the menu. Made a couple of tweaks because I hated the cajun bean burger and it is just Nate and I on that day so I've slotted something else in.

Nate loves diet coke chicken too! the best way for me to sneak in something meatlike! :) ahh, when they get older I have been told they start being more fussy for a bit. My friend's little girl did it.

Yep they know wat they like and wat they dont :) meg hates sausages so she wont eat campfire stew. I usually ask her wat she wants for tea then its easier than trying to force her to eat something she doesnt want. She loves pasta and veggies and fruit so shes pretty healthy :)

Morning Fran, Just catching up on your diary & your cooking made me feel tired. Hope you and Nate are feeling better soon & good luck for WI.

Aww thanks guys! Re house: there was a letter when I got home. Turned out to be asking nate to come for his 2 year check. Ap no news still. Gah. Also, I haven't taken Nate to be weighed in about a year and they didn't want to do a 1 year check so I suspect some telling off and me being somewhat rude next week. I can't stand health visitors. If I didn't look like a child it'd help I guess.

Well I suspected a gain. And anything up to 1.5lbs on I would be ok with as I have not stopped eating! My c said maybe my metabolism is picking up. I don't think it was slow before I just ate too much crap! So I stepped on the scales and a cheeky half lb popped off, so I am rather pleased. Totally proud of mum getting slimmer of the week and losing 3lbs. I was concerned because she was skipping meals, but snacking on fruit and using all her syns. This good loss has made her really positive for the week ahead though, which will make my life easier!

Extra easy day today and on to red and green from tomorrow.

B: yogurt, pear, banana.
L: sausage (1 syn) wholemeal roll (heb) with onions etc for superfree. An Apple.
D: steak and sw chips with a mushroom and tomato sauce, peas and purple sprouting broccoli (in mum's sotw haul!)
S: snickers more caramel (14 syns)

No doubt there will be more snacks but of the free and superfree variety. Dad bought proper white bread and a load of cheese and posh wine too! It is his birthday! I got him 2 albums he wanted and a bar of dairy milk wholenut which is his favourite. I don't think my brothers remembered :( 11 days until nate's birthday now. He was due on my dad's birthday so my dad remembers it is his birthday plus 11. Haha. Bless him.

Well done Fran a loss is great and fab news for your mum i bet she was chuffed. Sorry to hear about the lurge ewww lots are poorly with it.
