IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

morning sweetie.
1lb is the right way though Jo and I bet tomorrow the rest has come off.
I always gain on a weekend no matter what I do. last weekened was 5lb - this weekend on 2lb but thats as i only drank alcohol on friday. Im unsure whether my body likes it structured meal times on a weekday and a routine perhaps whereas on a weekend I eat when im hungry.

Brilliant on another good weekend!

jaqys is right - it's still a loss and you're still heading in the right direction.

I've overdone the oatbran a couple of times - it's sometimes easy to forget as I usually mix mine in with my yoghurt, but then went on to have a galette with my evening meal on two occasions. I don't think it does too much harm as long as you don't do it often.

I bet you'll see a difference in the next weigh-in. Will keep my fingers crossed for you for then.

hey hun still a loss ...i have weeks like that , i was saying about i only lose on a friday each week then the next 6 days before weigh in i either sts or go up !!!

Vicky i'm the opposite, I tend to lose on weekends (when I'm more likely to eat 2or3 cooked meals and be done eating earlier) and not much in the week where its 2 cold meals and a late cooked dinner.

and ther was me think you were in here telling tales ;)

;) secret's are safe with me :D xx

I'm a bit kissed off this morning...

Just 1lb off last week (yet 2.5 had gone on Friday - sniffle), my weekend food was angelic AND I got out there and stomped the village pavements for 45 mins FAST each day! So no more Monday weigh ins for me.

Three potential reasons for a weekend gain - (1) not enough water drunk (most likely cos I cut back Fridays and Sundays cos of 3H+ in car those evenings - 3hrs 30 Fri UGH!); (2) ate yoghurt late last night when arrived home; and (3) OD'ed on oatbran inadvertently (ate one of my delicious muffin with scrambled egg/smoked salmon Sunday breakfast, then later tested the microwave version (yuck) but ate them all myself inadvertently while watching the soaps when OH refused to help!)

Intensely irritating nonetheless!

Great weekend though! Blue skies throughout x

or reason 4) you've upped your exercise after the xmas break and your muscles are storing water etc for nutrients - hence a slight gain...only way to know would be to monitor all the other stuff - muscle mass, water weight and body fat ;)...I'm guessing it's this option...

as we're similar and when I exercise I STS or gain :p sucks doesn't it? (welcome back again btw :D)

Well it's still downwards though right?
And 2 good weekends in a row is excellent. Well done.

seconded :) Jo rocks and is an example to us all! :) still feeling in "the zone" hun? xx

Jaq i eat early on a week day cos i get in around 5.10 - on a weekend i prob eat later! must change that!

yeah I'm trying to stick to the idea Bren put forward about not eating after 8pm - admittedly easier on a weeknight as I go to bed earlier than during the weekend :) it definitely shows (or rather doesn't!) on a WI morning when I've eaten too late! d'oh xxx

On a school night I try not to eat after 6.30!
must fit that chocolate in later though!

I've always eaten my dessert at around 9pm to stop me snacking! so I'll never go for the "nothing after 6pm" thing.

It's probably a combination of a lot of things but, as Vicky says, the change of routine over the weekend means I don't eat to regimented times, eat later, drink less, so it's silly having official weigh in right after.

Sarah - you might be well be right too but, as exercise is gonna have to be part of our life forever, might as well get that gain over and done with!

OK ladies... info required. I am told I need to buy a Wii (a what?!). I've seen kids playing elaborate games on theirs, and I want one which they can play on when they visit us. So could someone give me a link on Amazon UK which shows me what I need to buy please?! (Kids have the games. We need the box thingamy... console?) And then, to be able to use the beast in an adult way, what extras do we need?

oh i love our wii shop around as you can get good deals now the xbox kinect is out .... if you google wii there wil be a few deals come up i will have a look around for you

Thanks Tan. And the games the kids have will be compatible, I suppose? (ie there's just one base Wii for all games, irrespective of the package you buy initially?) And then we'd need to buy the handset thingies they hang onto for dear life when playing their games?

(oh and does this work off an old analogue TV? or does it need a s****y flat screen? I was thinking of setting kids up in a far away room with it!)

Thanks Jaq!

I've seen some of you guys have them (and some even use them!!)... and with little people coming to the house in the summer, I thought this would be a good way of keeping them out of trouble also...

yep compatible games which if you shop around you can get cheap
wii fit board is good too , they do a family traing mat aswell burns a few calories

I won't kid myself (or you guys) that I'm going to use it for exercise cos I know I wouldn't... in the city, my neighbours below wouldn't like it, and in the country I prefer to get outside and breathe in fresh air.

But we're concerned that must we buy whatever we need to simply plug it into an old analogue TV in a bedroom and have what the kids need when they arrive.

Jo a good loss. Focus on 10lbs lost not only 1 this week. MHO would be not enough water. I know it's 3 hours on the weekend but if you want a loss its worth the pee stops :)

My little rules worked years ago and are working now. Bed by 10.30pm, last snack or any food by 7.30 (tonight was 8.15!) and 3 ltrs of water a day. Also found an exercise routine that is working with not boring me and easily fits into my life.

Also I have 4Tsp of bran because of being a Veggie and it doesnt effect my losses at all really?

Jo 10 lbs is fab! Are you going to stay away from the extra tasting of your bulk cooking creations???

Bren
X

Bren is right Jo - if you ever watch the biggest loser week 2 is always a bad one ;)
just the console and the wii fit board Jo oh and the nunchucks! and an extra remote if you dont get two with the console.

Nunchucks? Wii... this is a whole new language to me!!

Bren - unfortunately about 1hr30 is sitting in traffic... no trees for miles... so the loo stop thing just doesn't work!!! (Have seen a few men caught short though simply turning their backs on the traffic jam and unzipping. s'pose I could, but...!!)

Sorry I missed this... to be honest, I only tried those microwaved muffins cos I thought it'd be a great time saver if I liked them (not only because of the cooking in the microwave oven, but because of no whisking the egg whites).

Alas I did not like them.

I'll stick to what I know and like, I think. Less room for mix ups then!!
