IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

well you did say you wanted a wii :)

as for wii console

we got the wii console + wii balance board + wii fit plus game at xmas.... it comes with 1 controller

so had to buy a seperate controller/remote and 2 nunchucks (which connect to the remote for some games)

that pretty much set us up....just add games then....

worked out around £200 for that combo xxx

pmsl sarah - straight into my shewee ;)

SARAH!!! That thing is amazing!! I might wear one permanently! Just think how much time I'd save on constantly running to the loo! Mind you, I'd need a longer one...! I could tie the longer pipe round my waist and fill it... haaaaa!

Thanks for the Wii info. I just heard something else - that because I'm on Secam TV here, there might be an issue. Anyone know anything about that? ie, does it matter re games whether you're on Pal, Secam or whatever? (We'd thought of buying it in the UK anyway cos it's cheaper, so obviously would have it compatible then with UK TV... but cos UK TV doesn't work here, I'm wondering...!!)

oh nooooooooooooo :-(
Thank you Jacq... you've just saved us a lot of money!! We'd have to buy a French one, and get the kids some games...

lmao but you wouldnt burn cals going to the toilet!

the ferrets balls or the wee tube? ooh Jo maybe if you did get one and a tube you could have the tube hanging out the bottom of your trews just nearly the ferrets bits and then it would be totally believable you had a ferret up your trousers.

Jo, I'd go to Darty (or somewhere similar) and ask if a UK-bought console works (tell them you'll buy the extras from them so they give you honest advice). We can put our Wii into English-mode so they may be the same throughout Europe (and then we can play who wants to be a millionaire with Chris Tarrant as well as J-Pierre!) and I know the games work as eldest bought a wrestling game in the UK and it works fine, so wherever you buy the console, don't worry about buying other games.

I'm picturing it now! :eek::D

Laura - I remember Darty! There was one near us and loads and loads of constant TV adverts.

Yes, we've bought wii games from other countries which have worked on our machine. Secam can be a bit of b*gger, though, so definitely best to check whether the console can handle it.

Morning, and yes thank you Jaq... nothing to do at the dentist :D (but I'm a baby and even the "clean" they do makes me wince!). Back in six months.

Robin - that's interesting info re Wii over here thanks. You have a French one and buy games in the UK without a problem? The "children" at Darty (in my city at least) aren't overly helpful and I doubt they'd have a clue re that sort of specific UK/Europe question. I'm thinking buying a French one would be my best bet anyway (for when it inevitably goes wrong!). Will ponder further.

Nothing to report on the diet front. A-OK. Walked again today. The other half has put some strange music on my Ipod Shuffle but at least it's not Christmassy!

Lol what sort of strange music Jo? does it make you walk different?

well... for example, I heard the opening VERY recognisable to us oldies bars of "Body Talk" (YouTube - Imagination -Video- Body Talk)... and then it started and it wasn't Imagination singing. It was a cover; I think that was the case for quite a few of them. Must rectify!!

I definitely walk quicker to energetic music!!

Lol Jo - you know i thought ooh i bet he has put some 80/90s music on :) like POP POP MUSIC, Talk about...POP MUSIC!
