IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

Love it... I'll be humming that now all afternoon...

I have been quit for 3 Years, 11 Months, 2 Weeks, 3 Days, 19 hours, 15 minutes and 30 seconds (1,447 days). I have saved £9,048.76 by not smoking 36,195 cigarettes. I have saved 4 Months, 5 Days, 16 hours and 15 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 31/01/2007 21:00

and I probably spent the £9 grand on diet food! haaaaa! No seriously, I wish I knew where that had gone!!!

I just realised, chatting with the Vickster, that I'm coming up to my four year anniversary without my best friend...

Well done Jo, hope I can do as well with keeping the weight off as you have done with both weight and cigs.

You're kind re the cigs, Robin... but over generous ref the keeping the weight off. A constant battle as you know!

Look at it this way, Jo. The amount of weight you lost when you started dieting has mainly stayed off - you have 10% or so to lose going from the amount you originally lost. I have the same amount to lose now (900gr having lost 9.5 kilos) after my holiday excesses. I'd say that you're doing pretty well.

:-D

Jo sorry about your best friend xxxx

Jo, I'm late to this... the 1lb thing... I know how annoying it is, but equally, if someone told you a fortnight ago you'd be 10lbs down if you did exactly as you have done, you'd be made up.

Keep on truckin'!

Thanks GG. You're right of course. :D And, comparing my menus to those on Atkins, I see that I do eat "too many vegetables" (if such a thing is possible) for low carbing... even though I only have them every other day, it will slow my loss in cruise.

Fourth day of walking to work and I must say that it's far more pleasurable with decent music in my ears... (the strange cover versions will return though in a few walks time, so must reload music. never think of it by the time I get home and no time in the early morning hours before leaving home at 7am...). The colder weather makes it easier too, strangely enough, as I can simply wrap up warmly. The warmer weather meant I needed warmth initially, then progressively had to strip off (and carry) and "perspire" by the time I arrived! Not good!!

Lunch with a friend from the countryside today who's up in the city for some retail therapy... Going to a Dukan friendly place. Rather boring for her though!

Oh lovely Jo what will you have to eat?

Hello Vicky... having a horrible day here :)

Lunch was good. I went back to the same place as last week and ate the exact same thing! Salmon + three veg (I chose leeks, broccoli and courguettes). Then 0% fat fromage blanc! I'm amazed they have that! While browsing with my friend (who had risotto, loads of bread and a piece of cheesecake; jealous me?), I noticed they even have a Dukan friendly dressing for salad so might go that route next time I eat there.

Oh fantastic Jo well done. Sounds lovely (well apart from desert ;) )
whats the salad dressing made of?

I didn't have salad dressing, cos my meal was hot, but one of the eight dressings(!) was fat free fromage blanc, chives, balsamic vinegar. Perfect!

fromage blanc and vinegar wont that curdle? balsamic vinegar is full of suger :(

Balsamic vinegar - 'tis ok Dukan! leastwise in the quantity one has in a sprinkling of dressing!

Only dressing I have really. I make one with Apple cider vinegar too.

Bigger picture ... 10 lbs in 2 weeks that's brilliant !

X
