IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

C5 8pm your time Vicks!
We all made SUCH a fuss over the "little sprinkling" we had <diving for cover!!> and to see them hurtling around on it just amazes me. Particularly the female one... I mean where does she go to spend a penny?! and she always looks "clean"!

It's tough with an OH who doesn't gain weight. Perhaps different sized plates for you and him?!

I do cauliflower cheese on Dukan sometimes... either using cornflour or simply just fromage blanc, egg and a little lowest fat possible grated cheese. When it's cooked, I can't (really) tell there's no bechamel sauce... (ok I can!)

Jo, is that programme suitable for children or is it full of bad language, etc? I have a feeling my lot would enjoy that (more the boys, but any chance to stay up late, so daughter would appreciate it too).

Have been saying to husband for ages that we should watch a programme in English together on a regular basis as it wouldn't do anyone any harm. It never happens...

I can't honestly recall bad language... ok the truckers are big hefty hairy lads in dungarees (which is why the pretty blonde girl stands out, I guess).

Episode 1 | Ice Road Truckers | Five

no i cant remember any bad language on it either ...
My uncle lives near the ice road and cooks for some of the truckers

REALLY? Gosh! It looks so cold there...

he has lived there for about 15 yrs now he loves it. You wouldnt catch me there .....brrrrrrrrrrr.......i think its quite a lonely life up there .

Sometimes a peaceful life is the way to go. Think I'd rather have a warmer, peaceful life though!

Anyway, just popped back on to say that have managed to persuade the others that we're watching in English tonight, so will be tuning in.

Hey Jo :)

Great progress!! :) just a quick catch up on everyone's diary while I can....the weeks are just zipping by and in an evening I'm feeling quite exhausted...the work issue rumbles on as we're in a stand off as to who will raise it first :(....

probably something has to give this week - will keep you posted :)

diet is going so so, family birthday week this week just gone....so that threw quite a big spanner in the works...don't think I'm in keto with what I'm eating...which I think has saved me from any major gains... just under a pound on over the past few days.... back on the chaingang now :)

Hope you've had a great weekend xxx

Morning! Manic here, and two colleagues out sick, so I'll check in over lunch...

Hello to me... and another Monday grumble (these might be habit forming!!)...

I gained 1.2K this morning from last Friday's weight - particularly irritating as (i) I ate 100% Dukan this weekend (see below - possibly "too much veg" but I still don't think one can have!), (ii) I made an effort to drink more H2O, (iii) I did a 30 and 50 min walk in arctic temperatures.

Fortunately a Monday weigh in doesn't count... but I'll be hard pushed to get a loss by Friday :-(

Just talking to myself here really cos I was ready for it when I got on the scales this morning. Vicky tells me she has this each weekend too. grrr!

Saturday menu
Breakfast - Muffins

Lunch
- cauliflower cheese (couple of florets, Tblsp fat free fromage blanc and some 3% fat grated cheese on top)
- chicken, lettuce, cucumber, tomato

Snack
- homemade beetroot soup (with red wine vinegar in)

Dinner
- cheeseburger pie (4 portions = 600g mince, onion, mushrooms, tin tomatoes; topping= 2 tblespoons fat free fromage blanc, and 100g 3% fat grated cheese)
- baked egg custard

Sunday
Breakfast - smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, 1 muffin, fake caviar

Lunch - Dukan moules marinières (1.4L mussels, 1/2 pint water, onion, 4 tablespoons white wine vinegar)
baked egg custard

Snack - other two muffins
sugar free jelly

Dinner in car - chicken leg; 3oz tiny piece salmon
1 fat free yoghurt on arrival last night

OK a bit too veggie and cheesie a Saturday perhaps...

Menus look good, sorry about the gain, how frustrating.
Especially as you'd been good.

Did you drink enough?

Guessing the tinned toms didnt have any hidden sugars.

But even if you stay the same this week it'll be
a stone gone for the month.

No I'm very careful with my tinned tomatoes... always buy the same ones.

The only thing I can think of is eating later at the weekend, cos I'm up far later at night, and drinking less Fri and Sun because of car journey (and traffic jams...).

I know you're right Jaq but these weekend increases USED to be merited, now less so... Vicky tells me she has them too. Anyone else?!

Dukan can be very cruel on the gains on good days.
I did have some seemingly random gains, after good pp days, never worked out the pattern.

Might be the dairy, you don't usually have as much? It's only a temporary (false) gain though, I'm sure it will be gone by Friday.

Hope work has calmed down a bit for you.
