IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

I tried to join Brownies but I was such a slow eater that it used to be finished by the time I'd eaten my dinner, sob! I did manage to become a Guide (which was at a later time), but then I broke my wrist on my first night there, whilst we were playing leapfrog.

I just wasn't meant to wear a uniform, I reckon.

Mouse - When you're on Conso, let me know. I'll give you a (for eating) brownie recipe that will blow your mind.

Hello gorgeous Vicky - LOVING your hair ;)
the things you find when sorting through stuff eh??

No pics of fat brownie i dont think but mouse i was sooo fat that i couldnt fit in the uniform at all. I had to wear a school skirt (yes brown school uniform) over the top.

I was elf as well (i think or was it pixie) , a seconder and then a sixer too. I has soo many badges they were all down my sleeves :) lets not mention how i did on the horse riding one ;)

No pics of me as a fat brownie either:D That blasted yellow tie didn't do me any favour either!! I remember doing my homekeeper's badge and being dispatched off to this manky woman's house to make her ruddy beds for her:D Oh how times have changed!

I would like to learn to ride now but think I need to lose a bit more first so as not to disfigure the horse:D

end of row with a cardigan on, Jaq???

I wasn't a Guide either... in fact, I was quite a rebel back then. Horses (and boys) ruled.

Jo I stayed a guide due to all the shared activities and parties with the scouts, my organised activities all had boys at the root.
Yes with cardigan, my shoulders show why I cant get bra straps to stay up too.

Wow cool pic Jaqys. I don't think cameras were around when I was a brownie - looks like you were wearing the funkier uniform too rather than the brown dress with the yellow tie and the too tight belt around the middle!

Its from pack holiday, we had the dreaded brown dress, yellow tie, awful bobble hat combo for normal meetings.

mine was the dress no tie though. but the belt with the pouch on.
Jaq brill piccie x
Kim you wouldnt disfigure a horse! get yourself a lesson booked :D

lol i was a gnome and i was a sixer .....till i got thrown out for nicking the other brownies stuff to make up my lots pouchs !!! we had them horrid brown dresses still it was the 70s lol

In the '70s Scrumps? You're my age, are you? I forget duh!

Jaq - little Brownie you looks ever so familiar to me...

lol yes i was a 70s latchkey kid

oh me too. I had my own key and, when I forgot it, I sat on the doorstep until a neighbour took pity on me and took me home (to my Mum's horror and shame one day!)

by the way, are you sure working in a school canteen is a good thing? no fingers in that pink custard!

I was a brownie and a guide, though i can't for the life of me remember my uniform. I do remember going to some lady's house to cook fish fingers chips and peas for my cook's badge though.

lol no Jo luckily i wont be on the food side , just the watching the little darlings !!!! ...i doubt i will get it as one of the incrowd mums has applied so will no doubt have first dibs !!!!
