Yes 12.5lbs lost, I'm gunning for my first stone now.

Have woken up early, as if often the case these days, and am sitting outside having a hot lemon in water. I've decided I'm going to write my food down again for a while. Had a few too many slip ups lately, and I can see bad habits creeping back in. So hopefully writing food down for a bit will help nip them in the bud. This SW journey can be really easy once you've embraced the principles. Although I got away with it this week (and I was genuinely surprised to have done so - fortunate totm perhaps?) it will be hard and stressful if I keep going off piste. So I'm opting for easy.

Talking of PMT, my stomach is still in turmoil. I actually had to excuse myself from a meeting last week as the cramps were so bad. I really hope that wasn't red day related as a few of those a week I think will really help my weight loss. I'll keep at it though and hope things improve once my totm actually starts. My cycle is all skewy again too which may also be a factor. Getting my weight down can only improve matters though I think. I do wonder though if my body is gearing up for the menopause. My GP said I'm too young, but my Mum was only 43 when she went through it proper, so I'm not that far away.

My friend's wife has invited us over their's on Saturday to give us some advice on our Florida trip next year. That will be enormously helpful, knowing areas to avoid etc. It'll be a big deal for us, maybe only something we'll get to do once, so I'd like to get it right. I'm so excited about it now, and the bairn will love it. Very different to our previous breaks abroad (Rome, Sorrento, Berlin) and hopefully relaxing as well as fun. I just hope work let me have the time off, as I'm planning on going over Easter, and they like us to store work then. :-/

I am meeting my new boss today. I kind of know her already, but not to work for. I hear she can be very 'my way of the highway' so it'll be interesting. Some are more sympathetic than others to situations like mine too. So fingers crossed she won't try and make me work full time in the office or is a stickler for store working. Eek!

Anyway, I'm off to find out the syns for the lemon in my hot water. Not much surely!

Cardomon ( spelling?) seeds are amazing and natural treatment for dicky tummy. Just open one up and swallow contents. They work well for me without blocking me up :)
 
I think I have some at home - I'll give it a bash. I'm in pain and have to rush to toilet every so often anyway, so haven't got much to lose. Thank you!

One or 2 of those and peppermint tea should sort you. But, do you have ibs? Even better if you can get rid of your trigger foods. I can't eat too much fruit! And loads of other stuff!!
 
I was told I do years ago, but it seems to be one of those blanket diagnoses that they chuck at you when they can't actually pinpoint anything else (barring performing any proper tests).

I'm going to do a tea right now and see what I can find in the spices cabinet. Cheers chica!

I diagnosed myself, read a great book called managing ibs or something and I would never go back! I am so much better, more energy etc. I am a huge fan, can you tell ?? Lol

My trigger foods are wheat, oats, peas, chaulli, brocholi. Apparently common problem foods :)

Crikey, sorry, no idea and not sure what it was called. Lots of books out there on the subject. The best recommend a diet that cuts out lots of things and slowly reintroduce .. And see what the triggers are.
 
I may have a little lookie about - or at least do some internet research. Thank you for the tip!

P.s. I am sure (based on little evidence admittedly) that it is worse on these red days. I will persist though.

Evening chica. I was also diagnosed with IBS years ago. Mine was mostly stress related as opposed to food, but one of 2 foods did make it worse.
And hormones too - so if those are mucking you about then that could be the problem.
Had a hysterectomy and IBS virtually vanished over night.
I've not had any real problems now since I retired - no stress.
I do still get a dicky tummy now which is still food related and then but just the runs and no major cramps or anything like I used to get.
Foods that do it for me are some veggies and processed white flour! Much the same as WG.

What is store work??? You have me completely flummoxed on this one.
 
I work for a retailer, in IT as you know. But they have a store working policy (unofficial, not contractual, but you'll get downgraded if you don't do it), whereby you spend 2-3 days each Easter and Christmas helping out in store. Usually shelf stacking etc. Personally I think they should take on local temps and let the rest of us do what we're employed to do. Given those are times people often have as leave as well, it can make availability a real bugger. Chuck in August and that's 3 periods a year you know you won't make much progress project wise. I understand being in touch with our customer, but I see the negatives more so.

I understand the "in touch with customer" bit.
But it must cost them a fortune in terms of project hours lost!
 
They don't seem to view it like that. Even send support staff for critical supply chain systems off. Madness.

Evening all!

Well good stuff today:-

1. Apart from a quick dash first thing this morning, my stomach has settled down. Thank god. Whether it was the cardoman seeds, totm or it just happened anyway; all has been quiet on the Western front and I feel much better for it.

2. My mood has improved and I feel all bouncy again. This is def totm related.

3. I tried a new waxing salon today and am very pleased with it. She was a bit slow and a couple of times could have held my skin more taught, but she was so thorough, so many aren't. So now I feel all bald, clean and lovely lol

4. I made us lasagne tonight using cottage cheese rather than the creamy sauce. It worked really well and Beanie demolished his and wants it again. Result! On the downside I dripped tomatoey sauce down my light coloured top. Bother!

5. Have been 100% on plan today. I haven't had my HexB yet, maybe I'll have some branflakes and fruit later. Right now I'm stuffed from tea.

Well stomach is back again this morning. I took a look at the side effects of some medication I've been taking, Lanzasparole, for a couple of months now - diahhroea is one of them. I am due a visit with the doc anyway to get the next course so I'll mention it then.

I'm in the office today, so am all set for a red day. Determined to get to 16st 7 or under by WI on Monday. :)

I've just had a really nice tea/snack: packet of ryvita minis with some cheddar. I made them into little mini cheese and biscuits and it was so yum. They were the sweet chilli minis too, it worked really well. So that was my second HexA and HexB. Feeling rather smug with myself. I'm getting used to these red days.

Am saving my syns tomorrow as my friend has suggested we pop to the pub for an hour or so while our boys are at youth club. I'll only have a couple of vodkas but I want to stay on plan.

May have to invest in some immodium for Saturday, as I'm going to a friend's dor lunch and am out on a girlie night for a curry in the evening. I really don't need to be rushing off to the toilet in either of those situations. Must remember to book my gp appointment tomorrow too. I keep forgetting as work takes over.

Anyhoo, I'm taking my sore tummy off to bed. Will try some more cardoman seeds in the morning. *sigh*
