It's Now Or Never

Sleep tight chica. See you tomorrow when I hope your tum ain't too rumbly.

Thank you Pom. It does feel much better again this morning. I had some cardamom (finally spelt it correctly) seeds last night. Gonna have some more now. Got a GP appointment for next Weds.

Really don't feel hungry this morning, weird for me. I do keep daydreaming of all the lovely summer clothes I'm going to buy AND fit into AND look good in for my big hol next April though lol.

. . . I had some cardamom (finally spelt it correctly) seeds last night.
I think most people spell it cardamon - although Wiki gives both spellings.

I just crumbled! :-( Was v stressed and blood sugar had plummeted and had a cheese sandwich, couple of slices of pizza and two cookies. Cross with myself now. But the line is drawn and I know it mostly stemmed from not eating properly today.

I'm not going for impromptu drinks tonight though - we're popping to the shops instead. So at least that's syn-free.

Stomach was holding up well though. I love the cardamoms :)

Right I have to explain the stress...

I had my hair done at my sister's this afternoon by a mutual friend. She then did my sister's afterwards. All good, except we were running out of time before the school run. So my sister (who is a childminder) and our friend stayed back home with my nephew and another childminders child and another of her charges. I went with the other Childminder to collect another child (#1) from preschool, taking another one (#2) to be collected by a parent at the school. Whilst waiting for child #1 to come out, my blood sugars really dropped and I felt faint, started sweating etc. We carried on though with the 2 children to the infant school. Here we collected my other nephew (#3), dropped #2 with the parent, and then also collected 2 of my hairdresser friends kids (#4 & #5). So at this point we're back down to 4 kids. I'm still shakey etc and it's getting worse, but we had to get the rest from junior school. Oh hang on, suddenly there's another from the infant that I wasn't expecting (#6). Right so up to the juniors. We get my son (#7), friends son and daughter (#8 & )#9, two of my sister's (#10 & #11), the third hairdresser's (#12) and another one (#13!)! By this point I am completely freaked by so many bloody kids. And this is completely normal for them! On a daily basis! I'm mean seriously! We all trundled home, there were no probs, but I've only just stopped shaking. I really couldn't cope with it! Water off a ducks back to them. If you have a Childminder, be stunned at what they do. I know I couldn't!

Well that's all I have to say is well done Pinkie on getting through it hun xxx

Pinkie - you've learnt 2 things from this.
1) Do NOT forget to eat and let your blood sugars drop, naughty girl, slapped wrists.
2) Childminding is HARD. No matter how much you paid me to do it - there's no way in the world that I would even contemplate it.
I have a friend who minds just 4 kids - and it stresses her to hell and back!
There must be easier ways to earn a living, mustn't there?

Lol mad isn't it? Don't get me wrong, I'm amused at my pathetic reaction (brought on as much as anything by the lack of food shakes I was experiencing), but it really is mental.

I am trying magic oaty pancakes in the morning, so no skipping tomorrow! :)

And what do I find? You've gone awol.
Let me know how you are.

Where are you chica? Let us know how you are.

Hi girls,

I'm fine - been very busy, and to be honest I didn't really feel that anyone was that interested in my posts anyway. I hope you're both well though - I shall check out your Freds and see what you've been up to.

So I've still been SWing. With not a huge amount of success it seems. I am currently down to 16st 8lbs - so lost 1/2 pound since I last posted. It has been a little up and down, with holidays etc, but I just don't seem to be losing big these days at all. I'm preparing myself for a really long journey this time. I have re-started my C25K at last too. Currently midway through week 5. Minor hiccup there too - I hurt my back (not sure how exactly), which stopped me for a couple of weeks (when my weight went up a few pounds too).

I was thinking about how I could help my weight come off quicker - then realised that today I've not really drunk a lot of fluid. So I must try hard to have more water/herbal teas I think. Overall though, I think I'm pretty much back into the swing of things and enjoying the plan again. So if it is slow, provided it's coming off bit by bit, I know it's going in the right direction and that I'm making important lifestyle changes. I have to say that already, I am finding the running quite addictive, and have more energy as a result.

Have a busy few months coming up - which I suspect will also challenge my losses a bit. Have the bairn's 11+ in a couple of weeks, with his results due a fortnight after that. I will be celebrating or commiserating, and it is bound to involve some alcofrol and a bit of off plan. :) End of October me, my sister and a friend are off to Cologne - I definitely won't be on plan for that. After that I am at Boot camp for a whole week. That should of course benefit me in the long run, but I suspect that initially my body may be storing water from the excessive exercise - weigh in will be interesting that week. I come back on the Friday, WI is on the Monday. We shall see. Then a few weeks after that sees a couple of weeks of 40th birthday celebrations. I'll of course be good in between, but the days/nights I am going out I will be off plan too. So a lot of planning to be good in between these treats, and try not to go wild over Christmas. I am happy with that though, I think a maintain on those weeks - and keeping up the running, would be a really good, and just about achievable goal.

Anyhoo, I'll stop banging on now.

Natalie x

Hi Natalie,

Lovely to have you back, and with such a positive sounding post too!

Glad that you have started running again, you so enjoyed it, and had a pair of pins to die for!

Ha ha, I don't know about the pins Lynne, but I definitely noticed their shape had improved for the running. Already I can see some tone improvement after the little bit that I have done.

This time I'm doing it with a girl from my SW class, she's 16 years younger than me. But I'm keeping up, just.

I do have lots of fun stuff to look forward to, I'm really lucky. All culminates in that Florida holiday. If I could get to 13-7 or maybe even 13 by then I'd be over the moon. Unfortunately as I mentioned before, the losses are not coming easily this time round. I really think there maybe something pre-menopausal going on. My Mum was only 43 when she'd gone through it, so it's not that far fetched a possibility. I'm fine with that, assuming that's what it is. And in fact, although my losses might be slow atm, if I'm in for the long haul, it's probably better in terms of my overall lifestyle in the long run.

Anyhoo, I'm on the train to work right now and feel so sleepy. Going straight out once I'm home for the bairn's cricket presentation night. He won't get anything, but it'll be nice for him to see his little cricket buddies and have some fun.

Have a good day all x

Slow and Steady is definitely the way to approach it, particularly when you have to have fun, otherwise, how miserable and boring life would be.

Enjoy the cricket presentation, and you never know, he might get something i

Morning chica - lovely to see you here. I'm on hols at the mo on a dodgy dongle although have managed to blag use of a real internet connection at the mo.
Slow and steady works for me - and enjoying life is important. As you know, that's how I did it.
So just keep to plan between the fun bits and you should be ok and still lose the odd pound or 2.
When is the holibobs in Florida planned for?

His coach gave all the squad a nice certificate so everyone had something, which was nice. I think he's joining the cricket club at school so hopefully he'll be able to improve out of season. Whilst his coach is a lovely bloke, I'm not sure he's terribly good for Steven. Anyhoo....

It was a good night, drank too much cider though. So felt really hungry all day today and have eaten loads. All on plan though. Probably 3 helpings of dinner was excessive mind you lol. Just as well my meals always have lots of veg in.

So now Beanie has gone to his dad's and I'm flopping on the sofa, stuffed and watching Notting Hill. Think it'll be an early night, we didn't get in till nearly one. Eek!! Bad parenting. ;-)

Oh Bev, Florida is next April, 7 months away. If I averaged at a lb a week that'd be about a stone and a half off. So 15 stone or thereabouts. Must try harder lol
