Izzyhew's dizzy start to diet......

I've not tried the Aldi bars, will have a look for them next time I shop there :) Better value than alpen lights I presume?

Glad that your O/H is geared up to support you with the running/exercise. Keeping it secret for a month is pretty good going and yay no more sneaky running in the evenings before he gets home lol Maybe he could help you with some resistance/weight training type exercises to complement the running cardio sessions?

I've just seen the ad for syn free quorn sausages in the sw mag, I've got to go sainsburys aswell as aldis now... it's bad because I am nowhere near as careful with money as you are

we get the bulk of our shopping from Aldi, hubby works there so brings it all home which is great because I am not at all fond of shopping! Definately save a LOT of cash by shopping there and the quality is usually high, we do run out of veg though and I top up at the local shop, or Tesco if I am near it. There are also a few things I buy regularly that they don't sell so when I do go to tesco I usually stock up with several bags of wholemeal pasta and rice for example. Now I will be stocking up on quark, and low syn sausages!

Not sure what he is thinking about regarding training, but he does know a lot about how/what to do, and it's great he is supportive. I always wonder why a superfit guy like him is interested in me, welcome to my insecurities lol, but we have been together 4 years and he has shown me nothing but loyalty.

lunch ended up being 2 sausages (2 syn) 1 egg, onions and peppers in frylight, beans, 2 bacon.

tea ended up 2 small pieces of cod, with tomato puree and onions on top, with my HE cheese, potato wedges and roast mixed onion, courgette, pepper, tomatoes.

I have only had 4 syns, but I think I will have some hot choc soon, and perhaps a biscuit, and an early night with my kindle. I have felt quite tired recently.

was in bed by half nine lol, I have discovered previously that falling asleep with a kindle and having it whack you on the nose when you drop it isn't the best...... so now when I am feeling sleepy I prop it up between my bed and the chest of drawers I have beside it. Hubby discovered me fast asleep with the kindle still propped up lol.

Yesterday I had the hot choc but just didn't actually fancy anything to nibble so syns were 6. Now today is friday which is designated choccie day here, however as we have pretty much run out of veg and I don't want to shop today I have swapped the menu around and we are having tortilla pizza for tea so I need syns for that, I know I was low syn yesterday so it could balance, but I would rather save the syn cushion for if I have a 'want to eat everything in sight' day..... Also we have decided to go visit my family tomorrow and I could just have a kit kat at my mums and then she doesn't need to know I am on (yet another) diet. My Mum cooks in such a way that the actual meal is likely to be sw friendly, unless she makes yorkie puds lol. yes I think I will make tomorrow choccie day.

Today so far I have had an orange, don't want to eat much until after my treadmill session, which I will do when baba goes to sleep, and hubby will be banned from the kitchen, because much as he is so supportive I don't want him seeing me jog lol!

I will probably have more fruit and quark after that, not sure about lunch yet, and the tortilla pizza for tea. Limited for lunch as no potato etc left. I do have other low syn sausages to try tho, tesco cumberland ones only 1/2 syn each, might have that with my HE roll and onions and maybe paarsnip chips (the only veg left lol) sounds like a plan. that leaves HE cheese for my pizza, 8 syns for the tortilla and 1 syn for sausages and 6 for snackage/extra pizza topping. Sounds like a reasonable plan!

I know I could nip into the co-op for veg, but we will be passing an Aldi tomorrow on way home from our visit and I grudge paying more than I need to, when I know I can stock up for minimal cost tomorrow.

It's not often me that does the shopping, so although I hate shopping it's good to sometimes be able to have a look and see if there is anything new I might like, and it won't be a big shop.

I have completed week 4 couch to 5k :whacky068::happy036:I am so pleased :)

Having the weekend off and will start week 5 next week, trying not to worry about it, I will just have to do as much as I can, but it seems an unlikely jump by day 3. We will see!

Need a shower now, and then I think I might just jump into an early lunch rather than packing in lots of fruit as a late breakfast.

Did I mention my body actually got into gear and awarded me with a proper period on Weds? took it's time about it, but once it clears that should be me for a few weeks anyway. (apologies for tmi)

Well done Izzy, that's amazing! 4 weeks down, only 5 to go.... I know what you mean about still not wanting hubby to see you on the treadmill, not sure why but I think I'd be the same!

Your food for today sounds lovely. I still need to try a tortilla pizza, I think 8 syns is well worth it. Not so sure about the Quark. I have a real issue with foods and recipes that look/seem like 'diet' food if that makes sense. If I wouldn't eat it before I started SW, I generally avoid it now x

I know what you mean about diet food, but I had never tried quark before and didn't know what it was so I have no idea if I would have eaten it before or not!

I might not have ventured to try it, but if someone served it up to me I would have enjoyed it.

Maybe I'll give it a go. I'm always hearing about it on here. If I do, I'll let you know how I get on x

I went to bed for half nine too, we're both lightweights lol

Hope the family day goes well tom'ow, I know it can be stressful trying to stay on plan when you're not the one in control of the kitchen. Saving your 'syn cushion' for then seems a sensible plan :)

I'm bad I would not wait until tomorrow to go buy veggies, I'd go today and buy lots of other things I don't really need. I need lessons in being thrifty lol

Well done on completing Week 4! Hope the weather stays nice so you can enjoy your restive weekend xxx

I ventured in to the co op anyway, as I decided I wanted choccie even if it was very small so I got jaffa cakes, only 2.5 syn for 1, also got some snack a jacks and a pepper to add to the pizza.

Also bought fathers day cards as after tomorrow I won't see my Dad again until after fathers day.

had a little walkie around as well, very warm here today so now that daughter is off out to play she has been smothered in sun cream. Us scottish people aren't built for too much sun!

Are the midges out to bite you in this heat? I'm not used to these blue skies either, keep thinking I'll break out in Dave's Syndrome if it gets much hotter (random obscure TV reference there lol).

I went to the shops too for Chocolate Friday, had a magnum :D Then my dad phoned me up and asked me to buy him some fags, that felt very wrong as I haven't smoked for 7 years.

Going to try the pizza out on the weekend with synfree bbq sauce, I bought the warburtons square wraps instead of tortillas though. They do smaller ones now that are 6 syns so not too bad at all really, if it tastes good anywho :)

Good on you for stopping smoking, massive achievement so tell your Dad to get his own lol.

So far today I have had melon, banana and orange. I am using my HE for milk instead of cheese today as visiting family so will be plied with copious amounts of cups of normal tea as opposed to the herbal I drink at home, thankfully my Mum does have sweetner tho, so I won't have to syn them.

My midweek weigh is showing a 1lb gain :argh: I am hoping it's just hormonal stuff and will be gone again by wednesday. I could stomach a sts but I'd be really angry with a gain, considering how slowly my body loses weight, I'd be really angry with it for allowing a gain when I have been doing ok on the plan. Time will tell.

He'd left his wallet at home and was gasping for one after work so I took pity on him lol

You could always be awkward in future and take your own herbal teabags, I do it all the time and get funny looks from the family but I tell them I prefer it to normal tea (which I do most of the time) :) It's weird I'm not keen on fruit teas much but since starting on iced tea since thursday I really like them cold, those camomile and honey ones were a little odd but with lots of ice it made quite a nice refeshing drink :)

Hmn bad scales are creeping into everyone's homes this week  Do your best with sipping lots of water/caffeine free drinks and see if it helps shift it.

Hope today with the family isn't too stressful xxx

I often take something of my own. My neice for instance only has full milk so if I know I am going to be there for sometime I take skimmed with me. I usually take my lunch too but forgot yesterday hence I had a mix up food day:)

I have eaten... melon, banana, orange, a blue riband, a penguin, 2 cups of tea (milk and sweetner) a plate of salad including ham, cheese, egg, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, bettroot and OVEN CHIPS lol, and then when I got home a fat free yog, 2 jaffa cakes and a nectarine...

Not sure where I am on syns but I guestimate somewhere between 20-25 which isn't that bad. I am going to stick to 10 for the rest of the week, and we shall see.

Was a nice visit, but I forgot to give my Dad his fathers day cards and now I have to post em!

I would bring tea bags etc but I am arriving with an 8 yr old, an 8 month old, and baby in a car seat is bloody heavy, plus changing bag with nappies etc, 2 bottles plus food for the duration of visit and a few toys, I couldn't fit another thing in that bag! I'd rather just have a slightly off plan day for a visit as it's not like I am there too often, usually only about once a month at the mo.

morning all, my yummy baby slept till 0830 yay.

I wonder if you did get that lay in. In my long ago past experience, as soon as I told somebody baby would wake up.
Ah, but it is lovely to get that cuddle when they wake happy

Good Little Ninja :)

Sounds like you had a fairly sensible day out yesterday for being away from home with two little'uns to sort out too x

yeah I didn't get up until he did, my 8 yr old gets up anytime after 7, but she is fantastic in the mornings, she just mooches about and watches tv or plays until I get up, although these days I am not usually up much later.

well today we were out visiting a friend, so a 2nd day away from home, but it's been fine food wise as most of the eating was here.

Breakfast fruit/yog,
lunch baked potato, beans and 2 tesco light sausages (1syn)
at friends house I had tea with sugar (2 syn) and a jammie dodger and oh my goodness I was shocked to find they are 4.5 syns! I'd rather have spent 5 or 6 on a choccie biccy but I thought it would be less!!!
Tea was chicken breast, carrot, parsnip, sweet and normal potato, with gravy (1syn) I haven't used my HEa, and have had 1/2 my HEb - benefit bar. Syns only 8.5 so far so no problem. I will maybe have hot choc and my other cereal bar in a short while so syns will be 10.5.

Biscuits are so evil synwise plus I can't just have one so it's safer not to bother - I'd rather have the chocolate since that seems like more of a treat :)

My son's good in the mornings too for sorting himself out, but he also keeps staying up later and later - sometimes later than me, 13 has come 2 years early I think

You could always use your hexa for a milky hot chocolate, luxury ;) x
