JanD into the third year of maintenance :-D

Thanks Mary ... to be perfectly honest I wonder whether there's another reason for her crying off. Her daughter and my daughter live together - I think they're about to split up and I don't know if not wanting to talk about that might have had something to do with it. But anyhoo ....

Tea ended up being nawty  .... Penne carbonara with chicken & bacon & garlic bread ... Larvely!! :) xx

Wasn't there something with her a while back, when you said about she knew something that was going on with her and your Daughter, but your Daughter didn't approach you at the time.....would it still be something from then?......anyway, I hope whatever their problem is that they can sort it out. Too soon after your Son's relationship eh!

Tea sounded lovely.......mouth wateringly so :)

Yeah Mary - that's the one ... I was the only one left out of the loop when something was going on between DD & her partner - I've got over that ... WELL I HAVE said that when they're no longer together I want to KNOW!!!! ;)
They WILL split, probably soon and DEFINITELY for the best. I could never see them as a couple - never thought it would last, the partner is VERY insecure, VERY controlling - or would like to be which doesn't wash with DD - she will do what she wants to do. While I'm very glad she won't be controlled I think she DOES need to learn a little about compromise but at the same time I think getting out of THIS relationship as definitely for the best.
I think what confirmed my opinion was the reaisation that they don't share the same sense of humour. I think that's SOOOOOO important in a relationship.
Also recently DD had the chance of a secondment which would have let her go to uni, do a nursing degree and her nurse training whilst receiving her full HCA wages. There were 13 people for 2 places and unfortunatley she didn't get one. Her partner was pleased - not openly but DD could tell ...... not good :( ... she has her degree - not the she's using it.

Obviously I'll support her whatever, but I really think they'd be better apart. She'll be upset but she'll get over it ... as one door closes and all that :) xx

Oh crikey, well maybe all for the best then Jan.
I am sure whatever will happen then can only benefit your DD in the long run, like you say, as one door opens.............

Have eaten about a million biscuits ... :( ..... a meringue nest with spray cream and blueberries and another million biscuits :(... HELL what's the matter with me :(:( !!!

Now pack it in Mrs D, look how awful you will feel in the morning.

Time to put it behind you now and get back to basics for Kef.........wrist slapping over.

Aw Jan, shame for DD but everything does work out for the best in the end :)

Tea sounded delish, infact so did the million biscuits, meringue, cream ..... you get the idea! x

Ah Jan, has the biscuit fest got to do with DD? It is stressful for you so soon after your son's upsetting time. It is particularly hard given you have strong views on the matter too. It does sound for the best if they part but she has to come to that decision in her own painful way. It makes it hard for you to sit on the sidelines.
It's also impacting on your friendship with your friend, albeit temporarily. So a lot of stress at every turn. Be kind to yourself hon, but maybe, with treats other than food.
Take care.

Sounds like you have a lot on your mind at the moment Jan. I hope things sort out soon and you know it will all be for the best.

At least you have your holiday to look forward to!

Thank you guys :) ... I don't know where this has come from - I'm just hoping it disappears as quickly as it appeared!

I've been okay foodwise today (Thursday 18th August)
