JanD's Maintenance Diary. Into the 2nd year :o)))

Thanks Molly .... yes giving it a go rather than meal replacements .. we'll see how it goes! :)

Tan - I LURRRVE sweet potatoes!!:D

Sunday 31st October

Breakie - Porridge made with water with berries & splenda

Lunch - 1 slice soya & linseed with a scraping of phili light & a few chunky chicken pieces

Tea (out) - Salad - leaves, toms, cucumber, chicken, bacon, goat's cheese with a balsamic syrup (larverly!!)

wine

probably 3 oatcakes with phili light and/or hummus

I have to sweeten it though Mary - you'd probably salt it? I have to add some splenda xx

I prefer porridge made with water and add a little milk to it. Got to add sweetener though, not salt.

Me too Bev, quite a lot of it as well! :)

Up 1lb - not too bad considering a week away and only 5 'good-ish' days since. I've 6 or 7lbs to shift altogether now and hoping to do that 'sensibly' as I've said. I have to sya though I've been HUNGRY! :( I think I need to be factoring in a snack here and there.

I was out today so had a maintenance bar for lunch. I'm out tomorrow as well but will be able to take other things to my son's - probably cottage cheese, maybe some oatcakes and some fruit. (waffling - sorry)

Monday 1st November

Breakie - Porridge with splenda and raspberries (made with water, splash of milk to serve)

Lunch - LT maintenance bar

Tea - I'm doing turkey mince with onions, mushrooms, passata and gyros seasoning and having it with cauli & leek and roasted sweet potato - watching the portion sizes closely!

Will be finishing off the wine I opened last night & I daresay there maybe some oatcakes or something later on xx

It's a typically greek dish Mary - a while back they had lots of greek things in Aldi - I got Gyros, Moussaka and Souvlaki spice mixes. Gyros is typically pork and if you saw it cooking you'd think 'doner kebab' but it's not the same - it's much nicer and nowhere near as greasy xx

Yeah, gyros?!
Food looking great. Re the portion sizes I always have the same plate for lunch and dinner and never ever use a bigger one. Its a medium size plate which is ample. Do you have something like that too? xxx

Posting at the same time - great minds think alike!!!! ;)

See previous post re gyros .... Yeah i do Tan. The plate I use isn't very big at all. What I'd call a tea plate rather than a dinner plate. But in the past I would whack all the dinner in one pot and therefore I think end up having too much protein. I'm cooking things separate at the mo (tho I love one pot meals) to try to limit the portions ... I'm getting hungry though  xx

Hiya Jan, did you have a good break? A 1lb gain aint too bad and I'm sure a bit of being sensible will help you to shift what you've put on :)

Thanks Jayne - yes I did have a good time. :)

Incidentally about that gyros I've just realised you might be thinking Gyros as in Jairows it's actually pronounced geaross ... just so you know ;) xx

There wasn't much wine left ... have opened the Stolly I brought back from Cyprus mmmmmmmm

Oooh enjoy!!!!! :D x

I am :D .... £8 a litre!!!! xx

What a bargain!!!!!! Hope you stocked up! X

Could only manage 2 but hoping to get one for Christmas from the sister ;) xx

Hi Jan, your menu is looking great, healthy and balanced (with vodka and wine).

Like the idea of sweetening porridge with honey (its not fattening is it?) Scottish here too and its made with water, I like it sweet, mum and dad have salt in it!

I just can't imagine porridge with salt!!!! Blurgh!

Well it's a better, more natural sweetener but it's just as calorific as any other sweet substance. Depends where your priorities lie. I'm not fussy on honey myself - I use splenda xx
